looks like a piling with cross-beams maybe?what in ####s name just floated in front of him there?!
Reddit said he's gone, they left for higher ground.waves up on the windshield surely they abandoned ship... there's been zero talking
what link are you watchingwhat in ####s name just floated in front of him there?!
adair's link off livestormchasing.comwhat link are you watching
that feed is remote? phew.adair's link off livestormchasing.com
Nobody is in the car, Adair is tweeting that they are trying to find high ground but are cutoff. Could be serious.
I think its underwater now?!yeah Adair's car is toast... can't even see out the windshield...waves lapping on the hood. Debris everywhere. Glad they got out but God help them.
yeah, site is innundated I think... main map not pulling up anybody... I just still have the feed active so it's still working.thanks but not working for me
Hard to tell... can't tell if he's moving the camera or if the car is floatingI think its underwater now?!
Keep the updates coming, can't get in.hfs the car is now floating away
Yeah, pretty sure you are right. Wind is howling. Definite under-water type sounds going on. Raining so hard you can't see anything. Nightmarish.hfs the car is now floating away
https://livestormchasing.com/stream/brett.adairI lost Adair's feed, but the car seemed fully underwater. So scary to hear water sluicing over the roof
I doubt insurance is going to cover thatIt sounds like the car is filling up with water and looks like it's floating away
The east side would be worse, and greater storm surge.I know these links are fun and this is insane, but Panama City basically took a direct hit from the West side of the eye. This is probably going to be classified as a Cat5 hurricane.
Yes the east side is worse. But the west side was still catastrophic. The east side would be worse, and greater storm surge.
I think he was on the highway that runs along the beach or nearby it. They were headed to Mexico Beach and encountered storm surge waters and had to abandon ship. I hope they made it to some place safe. How close to the beach was he for those of us just catching up?
was back in the houses when the surge started up. I mean you can get a sense of it from google maps. Couldn't have been more than 200m from the water. And not sure where you would call water level when they showed up, it was already coming up.How close to the beach was he for those of us just catching up?
Great link - thanks
hopefully up in one of those houses or buildings that was built to withstand this. the house the car is up against seems to still be standing... so far.was back in the houses when the surge started up. I mean you can get a sense of it from google maps. Couldn't have been more than 200m from the water. And not sure where you would call water level when they showed up, it was already coming up.
Wind direction is very important for storm surge. A north wind in Panama City is actually pushing water away from the coast. On the east side, there should be maximum storm surge.Yes the east side is worse. But the west side was still catastrophic.
In Panama City. But the cams there don't look that bad. YetAFB looks like a direct hit.
did somebody say 25k people stayed?
:(
depends on tide as wellWind direction is very important for storm surge. A north wind in Panama City is actually pushing water away from the coast. On the east side, there should be maximum storm surge.
that's excatly what I was seeing- the side of the buidling and the post holding up the balcony. jfc. too bad they couldn't drive up to the top of that retaining wall
