Somewhat shocked they didn't hit Nielsen over and over again until he cracked. Just keep sending. Baffling he was there at the end.

While I think the Visma guys were passed their limits (I don't think Benoot had anything left), Matteo should have attacked if for not other reason that when/if Powless brought it back, Wout could attack. I do think Powless was the freshest by far though. Wout hasn't been super-duper Wout this spring and Matteo while uber strong seems a tad off from last year. And its not like Powless is a slouch in these races as his 3rd in '23 showed. He seems to be able to peak for this week really well. He can't hit the topend of MVDP or Tadej, but he seems to have a really long and high power threshold

No doubt Powless is on super form. But there is no way with three guys that they couldn't hit him three, four times with 5kish to go to make him chase over and over. Waiting for the sprint was super selfish and Jumbo paid for that dearly. Complete self-own.

But it is good to see Wout at least have the legs to be in the hunt. That injury looks gnarly.

First two stages should be bunch sprints, one categorized climb each.

Number of categorized climbs in the last 4:
  • 7
  • 7
  • 4
  • 7
Steep climbs but short stages, most are 150-200 km. Cat 1 climbs are rare, but several on the final stage. Obviously have to be a great climber to win but they're not the crazy long climbs we see in GTs. It's usually a pretty fun and evental race.
 
Got the Dwars score in there. On another note looked at my score for Catalunya and I was inside the worst 2% of scores. Back to my normal. :lmao:

There are some streams on “CX” on YouTube as well. Generally have to search for past events to find them. If I find one in the morning I’ll post a link here. Generally just the video without commentary

yeah if you put in the same team manager and same team name you've been using it doesn't ask you for the league code

looks like @Nick Vermeil figured it out

BTW if you search for "league code" and select "this thread" it's been listed 5 times - same code for Stage Race and Superclasico

And the first crash of the race arrived. Lennert van Eetvelt went down. Big surprise to see him here, probably Lotto had an empty spot after De Lie showed he's not in shape.

Blanco and Moro also went down, everyone back on their bikes.

Estimated 6h and 15min. This will be very difficult race to endure, I mean watching for 6h from the couch isn't for amateurs.

Especially when the bicycle will disappointingly watching me from the other side of the room.

He just set a bunch of Strava KoM records from the P-R course

Still, it’s 8 to 7 rn, & MvdP focuses his entire year on the 5 Monuments

Tadej should eclipse him just based on age - he’s 2 or 3 years from his peak - but for now it’s become the best UCI rivalry
