Clash of the Titans

IBL Representative
i am in the process of working on my top reasons for Mr. Adams to send this clown down the unemployment highway.........he should be arrested by the federal government for grand larceny for the product he has put on the field this season and the terrible game decisons.............

enough i need to go throw up again!!! :excited:

There's a long list of teams that would love to have this guy as their HC.

It was a bad game but count your blessings. Would you rather have Childress? Jauron? Turner?

You're insane. Fisher is one of the best coaches in the league.
you can have him...i'm done.....he's a good coach but he will NEVER win a title...... this season is over for all intents and purposes.........time to break the bank for shanahan or cowher.....Mr. Adams has invested too much over the past 14 years for mediocre jeff

Fair weather fans are just sad. I'll bet you were dancing and drinking and loving life and thought Fisher was the greatest when they were 10-0 last year. Now you want him fired, same guy who was 10-0. Yeah OK.

I think Cowher would slap Lendale White in the face for stomping the towel before he would sign with them, Shannahan is still getting paid by Denver as long as he doesnt accept another coaching job.... I do think there is to much talent on that team to be 0-3, but I think firing Fisher would be a bad move.

I don't think The Jaw cares about terrible towels.BTW, it's not Fisher, its the OC Hermadingdong.

Haha. I hope you're one of the few Titan fans who thinks this.

Relax. They shouldn't have lost at home to the Texans, but the other two came on the road against the defending SB champs (in OT mind you) and on the road against a damn good NYJ team.

It's Adams himself that has put Fisher in the position he is in, overriding personnel decisions and all.

Fisher wanted Cutler. Adams wanted V. Young.

It all begins and ends right there.

Adams made his own bed, now he has to sleep in it.

It wasn't up to Fisher to keep Haynesworth around either. Now their secondary is suffering for it.

Uhhh, o.k. A little over-reaction???? Next time think a little before you post such non-sense.And, due to the ignorance, I hereby revoke your rights as a Titan's fan. From this day forward you will be known as a fair-weather fan, not a Titan's fan. I hope you're happy with your self.

I hope as a Jets fan, that in 15 years (Fisher's tenure), I am so jaded with the performance of my team in one bad year after they have been to a Super Bowl (those Titans) and have been playoff contenders (those Titan's again) throughout my coach's tenure (Rex Ryan), that I can call for his head after a 0-3 start.Seriously, are you nuts??? Try searching for your next franchise QB for 40 years (Jets)!!! Try overcoming an 0-16 year (Detroit) and try going to the playoffs twice in like 20+ years (AZ). The level of patience of some fans never ceases to amaze me.

The hilarious part of this is that both of the guys you want him to "break the bank for" (Shanny and Cowher) had fans saying the exact same things about them that you're now saying about Fisher.

As a Steeler fan, I used to hear the same crap every year about Bill Cowher (Stillers.com is a great example.) Cowher used to win nearly every year, but he couldn't win the big game-

BECAUSE HE HAD O'DONNELL, KORDELL, and MADDOX AS HIS QUARTERBACKS!!

Fisher is a great HC. No one expected that team to win 13 games last year. Give the man a franchise QB, and he will win a SB.

Off topic, but that's the Jets own fault. They have no one to blame but themselves for dropping Pennington in favor of Clemens and Favre.

Look at next week's schedule, Fisher pWns the Jags in Jacksonville.
Look at the rest of the sched .... every game is very winnable They are suffering because they do not have a pass rush anymore and have a tendency to get really conservative against good defenses. You can't blame the coach though for all of the terrible turnovers today and that is why they lost.

I agree with this. Three caveats, however.1. Fish needs to be a little less dogmatic in his personnel decisions. Titans have the worst K/P return game in the NFL and it has led directly to at least 2 of the 3 losses. This is because of his misquided and "I know more than anyone else" attitude.2. His personnel decisions regarding the rest of the roster -- 3 QBs and 5 RBs, bunch of wasted spots. A WR (Hawkins) that will be inactive 16 times this year and an RB that should be (Henry).3. His unwillingness to ever admit he is wrong and stubborness to make a change.--------------------------He is a great game day coach and I want him to stay here...but I think Bud needs to take him down a notch...maybe two.

he's a good coach but he will NEVER win a title.....
:lmao: If that's your attitude then you deserve whatever gawdawful coach eventually replaces Fisher and runs the team into the ground.

You Titan fans have no idea how good you've got it. Without Fisher you're a perennial doormat.
 I'll keep Fisher but we have to do a better job of drafting and keeping players. Collins/VY at QB and no Haynesworth = problems.

They can't throw and aren't stopping the opponent.

the defense is a siege it's getting as badly torched as that crummy vols' defense was last nite against auburn.............

football in the state of tennessee just isn't very good this year

the defense is a siege it's getting as badly torched as that crummy vols' defense was last nite against auburn.............
I think you mean that the defense is a "sieve".If the defense was a "siege" it would probably be a good thing.
lol you are right....i am so fired up mad right now i can't even think straight..............and when moon manning comes to town Sunday night in two weeks you can go ahead and pencil in 0-5

Can we please cut down on the "Fisher is one of the best coaches in the league" talk now? Only 6 winning seasons and 4 playoff wins in 15 years is one of the best coaches? Puh-lease.

Not saying he should be fired, but I always chuckle when people talk about the best coaches in the NFL and put Fisher's name alongside those coaches who are proven winners.

Fisher is untouchable. J
Mike Shanahan was untouchable, too. You should probably amend that to "Fisher *SHOULD BE* untouchable".
I wonder how many Steelers fans wanted Cowher canned in 1999?
About half as many as wanted him canned in 2003.

55% career winning percentage despite dealing with *THREE* massive rebuilding phases (once when he first got there, then twice more thanks to the front office's tendency to keep blowing the team up and starting over).Your "6 winning seasons" stat is deliberately misleading. I could just as easily say that he's only had 4 losing seasons in 14 years.

Joe is right that Fisher is untouchable. for some reason, pointing to his bottomline record and questioning his position as Top 5 coach expresses that you don't know football. Never got why he gets the perception breaks that he does.

 I always thought he was a decent enough guy who tended to maximize the potential from whatever talent he was given. He's not a jerk, seems to give good quotes when asked and his team has some measure of success. I guess going after him would be seen as harsh.

Seriously? You're willing to discount all he has done for that franchise. No coach in the NFL has done more with less that Jeff Fisher.

You chuckle?

I think Fisher's a good coach. Fireable? That seems like a stretch, but he wouldn't be the first good coach to get fired and it be the right thing.

The bigger issue is that I think Titans over-rate the quality of their own team. They weren't nearly as good as their record last year and they lost, possibly, the most dominant defensive force in the league along with their DC.

A rough season makes sense.

It makes sense to get frustrated about getting worked by the Jags. Don't let last year confuse you, though, the Titans aren't and shouldn't be better than the Jags.

Fisher is untouchable. J
Joe, you are probably right. But...this is the first time that I've really started to think that his support is crumbling.Supposedly, Bud stormed out at halftime furiously. The media -- local and national, Fisher's longtime personal support staff, is jumping ship. Personally, I think he has lost the team's confidence. I think that his questionable decisions, and stubborness to change/adjust, has put them in a situation that they feel is futile. His personnel decisions the last couple of years have been highly questionable...and I think the players are realizing this.Like I said, I've seen this time and time again and felt he was untouchable...but, I tell you what, it is getting pretty hot in here. Frankly, I think the only thing that keeps him here is going 6-6 or better the last 12 games or having a huge buyout.Having said that, if he is let go he'll be the Cowboy's coach in about 17 seconds.

I think the longest tenure thing makes some of the love for Cowher rub off on Fisher. I think people think of them in a similar light, maybe for good reason. Before Ben, Cowher was seen as a really good coach, but maybe not great. He'd had some good seasons, some bad seasons, made it to a SB, but alot of people felt like the Steelers organization was more patient than others might have been.

So, I think people think of Fisher as the next Cowher. The problem is that Fisher may not have have a Ben Roethlisberger in his future.

I will have sex with another man to make this happen.
