I thought he said Alex last night as well.

Seemed like they tried to cut it out. I think you could still hear the x sound.I don't think it's a big deal, but it confirms that the writers of this show are definitely writingas they go, and don't have some master plan from day 1 that they have been following.

Of course they are. You think they have every episode penned out in advance?I'm sure there's some large story arc they're using, and they fill it all in with side-stories as time goes on.

Exactly. I think I have both episodes Tivo'd so just for fun, I will check them both out. I don't think there was any change except that in one scene Zeke was right there and in another he was not in the scene, so maybe it was a little quieter.I think that the whole "No, we are the survivors of the Flight 815" is another one that people think changed. I don't think it did at all. When we heard Bernard say it, it was clear because he said it. There was static when Boone heard it and people took there own interpretations. I know when I first heard it, I actually thought it was "There were no survivors on Flight 815", but it never changed.

Why even bother explaining it? He grew because he is a young kid, I don't think the writers think it matters to the plot, so no need to discuss it.

At least in the previews it looks like we get the monster back in the action.

Sawyer bonding with Jack near the end of the season is becoming a trend.

Bonding? Or some sort of ego/competitive thing? Since Sawyer thought Jack and Kate got it on during their journey, he just had to let Jack know he banged AL. That "closest thing to a friend" was just another of Sawyers sarcasms.

I don't think so. I think it came from the heart -- what heart Sawyer has. Last season, it was Sawyer telling Jack about his meeting with his father. That was his parting "gift" if you will. This season, he's telling Jack about nailing Ana-Lucia. Why? Well he has to tell somebody and like Sawyer said Jack's the closest thing he has to a friend (other than Kate who he obviously isn't going to tell this story to). For as much as Sawyer likes being hated and being the outcast I think he also wants to gain Jack's approval because Jack represents many of the things Sawyer isn't and could never attain.

Sawyer can be viewed as the moral center of the story. The losties have consistently used their guns on themselves (AL, Libby, Shannon) or used them against the will of the group (Charlie killing Ethan before they could get info). When he took all the guns and declared himself sheriff, no one got hurt. Now the guns return and the losties seem to be heading for a battle with the others which will probably lead to them again using the guns on themselves, especially because of Michael's turn. He confesses to Jack because he is the reason AL and Libby died--he let her have a gun--and seeks absolution. Unlike Jack's knee-jerk response to problems, Kate's need for relevancy, Locke's shifting faith, or Eko's self-involved missions, the results of Sawyer's actions are always correct and moral. He also consistently responds to ethical pleas.

Yeah, like I say, Sawyer is my favorite character. Reminds me of someone I know.

I don't want to get into the whole "numbers from the log" debate. But it's obviously upticking.

The message from Rousseau that Sayid heard also had a somewhat random string of numbers that upticked with each broadcast as well.

Rousseau input her distress call, over-writing the initial broadcast of the hatch numbers which Mooney (IRRC) and the guy in the looney bin with Hurley heard while at sea.

Is it possible that those two strings of numbers are related or linked somehow?

Maybe it's just me, but the one big unanswered question from last night's episode is... Why did Michael kill Anna Lucia? Ms. Clue never asked him to or instructed him that AL had to die. All Michael had to do was bring back Henry, Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Hurley.

Really, IMO, all of Michael's actions have been completely irrational and unrealistic.

First, why was he so belligerant with the Others? I understand the "angry father wanting his son back" routine... but I would think cooperating and a civil tone might have gotten him a lot further than all the yelling and resistance he put up. I honestly think that most rational people would have realized that and played that type of situation much differently.

Second, why did Micheal feel like he had to hide the truth from the rest of the survivors and why kill AL? If it was me, I'd let everyone in on the truth, ask them to release Henry and then explain that he needed the four people to go back with him. I think the Losties would have done all that to help Michael get his son back.

I understand they are writing the story for drama, so making people act completely rational doesn't exactly make for an interesting story. But some of this just doesn't make much sense to me. I'm looking forward to the season finale to see if hopefully they address some of this better.

So if Michael comes to them and says, we can trade Henry for Walt, I gotta think Jack and the rest of them are going to go for it - that was their intention all along.

Second, they have been itching for a fight with the Others for a while now. If Michael explained the situation I'm sure they would have come up with some kind of a plan for the ones on the list to go in while the rest of them followed behind ready for a fight.

He has no relationship with her, he has been tied and bound to a stump for a week, he is losing his mind, and he wants to get Walt back. I'm sure the fact that she is a b**** made it a little easier, but it was clear at the time and still clear now, he didn't want to do it, he was scared, and it was simply a means to his desired end. Playing the only hand that he thinks will safely get his son back....even if he is BATSHAT CRAZY for thinking the Others will honor their promise.

Right, they would be willing to do a 1 on 1 trade, no problem. But you think they would walk into a trap knowing that the Others requested only 4 of them and they had their exact first and last names?I d agree with you that they could have set up some sort of plan that the rest was there somewhere. But Im sure the Other have planned for that too.

But no way would Jack go along with it if he knew that was exactly what THEY requested. Out of respect for Michael, he will go along with the ppan now because he thought it was a strategy thing and Michael's opinion that it was the best strategy to get Walt. If he knew about the list and their requests..no way.

As for AL.....How else was Michael going to free Henry? AL was not going to just let him open theroom and let him go. He clearly didnt want to do it ("Im Sorry") but he reacted fast after hearing Henry was in the room.

I agree that Michael felt he had to kill Anna. Before it didn't make sense to me, but until last night we didn't know that the Others wanted Henry and 4 survivors. Getting the 4 survivors would have been impossible if he just locked Anna up and grabbed Henry. At that point Michael = Henry and they can't trust him at all.

The only other out Michael had was to come clean and try and set a trap like they did for him. Whether or not Walt has turned, the Others set Michael up with the info on the computer because they were waiting for him right on the N path he was taking.

I'm trying to think if anyone else has had these situations presented. Now maybe Sawyer is a stretch because he saw the horse while with Kate, but I'm starting to think there may be a connection here. Also...was there any thing else that these characters have "seen"?

I can't think of anyone else chasing something from their past in the woods. Curious that these are the four the Others want.
