That is part of the problem though. They mistakenly, IMO, placed the Inter Miami game in Miami where likely any causal who wanted to see Messi and friends, has already seen them play. Had they placed that game almost anywhere else in the country, it may have sold much better IMO.$4 to see Messi?! Hell yeah.Doesn't seem to by falling for the Madrid game in Charlotte. Reading more about it seems like the big clubs are sending or playing their backups? If they get further into it is it expected they’ll play their starters? This is wild.

I think it makes alot more sense if you think of it as an alternate to the annual parade of exhibition games we normally have this time of year. It won't add any games for most of the euro clubs, so the main difference really is that this is a tournament that includes smaller clubs from all over the world, reportedly with total purse money of $1bln. Just as with those exhibition games, these will be a mixture of young/new players with vets, at least in the earlier rounds. For many of these clubs, the purse money could be significant budget factor if they can win a couple games and advance from the group.
