***Official "Space Blanket" for Better Call Saul*** (7 Viewers)

Wexler was on Whitney. I swear it was pretty good for a network sitcom, and miles better than Cummings' other sitcom (a very low bar of course). I think Jutz and I are the only people on Earth that liked it. Maybe Vince Gilligan was also a fan.
Yeah, that's what I knew her from.  I also liked that show.

In the Talking Saul podcast for the last episode, Gilligan commented that they were really pushing the level of implausibility with the "money in the tires" heist

Jimmy has definitely taken a turn this year.  He was a good guy with some quirks and "charm" in season 1, but he is more than halfway to becoming Saul now.  Chuck is a doosh, but what Jimmy did to Mesa Verde is a clear turning point.  He's basically willing to #### over an innocent client and screw over his brother -- in a pretty underhanded manner -- just to get what he wants (for Kim).  The more clear turning point may have been when he returned the money in S1, but now we see that he's going to do whatever he wants to get what he wants, including being a felon.   There's no ambiguity in what he did with forging the paperwork, so he's certainly becoming a less sympathetic character.

i think what he did makes him even more likable...his brother chuck took that client back out of spite ,not because it was best for the firm...they have plenty of money...kims just starting out and in all honesty it was her score ...they were treating her like a lap dog letting her rot in the mail room...she owed them no loyalty and she took what she earned ...and when chuck said he liked victory laps that did it for me ...i was pumped when it all fell to ####.....jimmy is loyal when he wants to be ...he does whats right ...maybe his methods arent right but his intentions most certainly are ...he quickly finding out that doing things the lawyerly  way is a dead end road for him...hes been a con man his whole life and he uses those skills to get the job done...i cant wait to see what makes him turn the corner to full fledged ''criminal '' lawyer

Agree.  He broke the law, but did it for her.  Can't say it didn't give him some level of satisfaction, but I don't believe he would have done it if Chuck wouldn't have screwed her over.

Not saying its right, but agree with BN that it makes Jimmy more likable for me.

#### Chuck.

Jimmy is obviously very likable, but still very much a dirtbag.

Sure, it's great when he's screwing over #######s like his brother.  But as with all dirtbags and con men, innocent people will both get caught in the crossfire and be the intended victims on occasion. We've seen it with his father. He started off with good intentions to help him, but it was much easier just to steal from him.

It's honorable what he just did for Kim, but while we don't know exactly how this will end, we can be nearly certain that he'll ruin her career at some point (the only possible exception being that she leaves him before it happens).

I like Jimmy very much as an entertaining TV character, but in the end, he's going to take the easy route and look out for himself piling up collateral damage along the way. When people end up doing bad things in life, they almost always start out with good intentions.

Think Chuck dies tonight. The overwhelming guilt of that and not wanting to use the family name to practice his version of law leads to the name change.

Kinda doesnt make sense with Kim in the picture though.

It's all good, man.

Unsatisfying Mike episode.  Who could have done that?  There's no way Nacho had enough time to get to his car.  Lawson?  Not likely.  tuco wasn't by the house, but he's probably still in jail, and that seems a little too subtle for him.  Then who?  And why?

Terrible..........IMO That story line is played out or at least much less interesting than Mike's story line.

And it was a Chuck centered episode with the promise of much more Chuck to come.

Not really what I was expecting or wanting for the season finale.

Gus.  That's who left the note on Mike's car.
7-8 weeks ago there was a rumor that a Breaking Bad star would be on the finale but Gilligan said it would be too distracting even if it made perfect sense in the scope of the episode, so they took it out. Wonder if that's what it is.

I can't beieve Jimmy fell for that.   Con man got conned.   It was masterful how he let it all be Jimmys idea even to the point of letting him in the house.

Of course Gus left the note.  I could even hear his voice in my head with a one word terse command..."Don't"

Oh holy crap. I just figured out that the guy from Low Winter Sun is also the guy from The Kingsman. I'm not sure I've ever hated or loved two things as much as I hated LWS and loved Kingsman.

Esposito has a Netflix series coming out this summer. If it gets picked up for a second season, their shooting schedule (it's shot in NYC) would coincide almost exactly with BCS's schedule, and because of that, Gilligan did not want to tease with a Gus cameo and then not be able to deliver the storyline in season three.

Jimmy is such a moron and deserves everything coming to him.

I would have left Chuck bleeding on the floor of the copy shop, drove back home and banged my lawyer girlfriend.

SPOILER

In CA tape recording without consent is a felony (there a was a trial a while ago in which a famous Hollywood/Beverly Hills PI/fixer for the stars was convicted and sentenced to several years in prison. Not sure, but doubt any evidence obtained illegally like that would be admissible in court. But no idea about New Mexico law, now or then?

* That was so predictable Chuck had a tape recorder, hard to believe a sharpie like Jimmy would fall for it.

Cracks me up that Chuck was in Spinal Tap

Gus has been watching him watch Hector since Gus watches Hector too.

Lousy ending to the season... Jimmy was 100% predictable and Mike was extremely disappointing as standard now. Need to find something else to watch Monday night (which really bums me out) as the show isn't even interesting any longer, or maybe catch up on my sleep...

Ok cool. GL with the sleep thing.

Also an issue is authentication, there's no witness to prove that it was really Jimmy saying those things on tape and not some actor Chuck hired to read a script.
Even if it was admissible and they proved it was authentic Jimmy could claim that he said it just to help his obviously mentally-ill brother.  I think that tape is recording is very shaky evidence.

Y'all are f'n nuts.  Of course Chuck is smarter than Jimmy....we've known that all along.  Is it really far fetched for Chuck to "pull one over on Jimmy"?  Of course not.  And the Mike thing...I'm stealing Gilligan's words from Talking Saul after, but Mike "is not a stone cold killer yet....we don't know what will make him turn to do that"

It's like y'all are pissed if there aren't 18 killings every episode.  Mike's entire scene was awesome.  The intentional no sound so you could basically think what was going through his head was great.

Fring. He has unfinished business with the Salamanca's.
