I, for one, am just fine if we never see Kim again. She was a character we loved, like Saul, who abrubtly left him, like she did us. I think it's perfect. I hope we never see her again.

Amid all the talk of spin-offs we’d like to see, how has no one suggested a Cousins prequel where they go around axing everyone? Guy cuts them off in traffic? Axe. Girl won’t put out on date? Axe. Stranger at party says, “So you guys dress alike and do everything together? That’s weird.” Double axe. Turtle trying to find out how his brother got blown up? Axe to the shell.

ETA: The show title would absolutely have to be “Just Axing”

Or how about a new Michael Myers Halloween movie....you know never runs, only walks....always seems to be somewhere ahead of the person despite only walking, lots of axing.  Then at the end the mask comes off and it's revealed to be the brothers.  (makes total sense there would be 2 of them...that's how he's always ahead of the person even though only walking).   :mindblown:

 
So who is Carol Burnett gonna play?  Odenkirk said in an interview that it's a "big story".  His mom? Kim's mom? Howard's mom?

My guess is that we see their initial meeting with Saul, and maybe one or two other events from the BB-verse, entirely from Saul's perspective. Like maybe there was a particular reason he suggested they off Badger. But I don't think they spend too long there. One episode, two tops. Then we're on to C̶i̶n̶c̶i̶n̶n̶a̶t̶i̶ Omaha. We already know what happened in BB. The Gene timeline is far more interesting for the narrative arc of the series.

The main question I have is whether they somehow try to explain/hide why a man in his 40s is playing a recent HS dropout, or if they just expect us to suspend disbelief a la Odenkirk and Banks. Maybe it will be like the Back to the Future sequels, where instead of recasting George McFly they just had a Crispin Glover lookalike lurking in the background without giving him any lines. But if that's what they're going to do, why even bother bringing Aaron Paul back?

huh? They’re just going to tell us this story and we all have to be adults and accept the real life actor is 15 years older than when they filmed the original. It’s not a big deal at all to me, this isn’t a documentary.

My all-time favorite response to this type of situation was from the director of "Field of Dreams" when he was questioned about the fact Ray Liotta batted righty in the movie, even though Joe Jackson was a lefty. He said, "You're right, that was inaccurate. The other thing that was inaccurate was that Shoeless Joe Jackson did not come back from the dead and play baseball in an Iowa corn field."

Just kidding ;)   ... I always thought since this show began showing their first interactions from Saul's perspective would make a good scene/ending.

I feel like we needed one more scene to show him flip the switch in the timeline instead of just jumping immediately from taping boxes to the BB timeline.

Gus' motivation has always been revenge.  Revenge for the cartel murdering his lover.  The wine scene in the last episode only reinforced this.

Still no way to post spoiler tags here?  There's been a few interviews that really lay out the structure and plan of the last few episodes but don't want to outright post because some would consider it spoilery.

Well I think one was the producer talking in a podcast.  You can also google "odenkirk on the jimmy/kim aftermath".  There's a section where he answers a definite question from this thread on the upcoming episodes.  

EDIT: Also, the BCS Reddit discusses all of this.  It's the best spot for speculation and clues as to what's coming.

I was away for a few days, so I just saw the latest episode last night. I was surprised with the abrupt departure of Kim from the storyline. Definitely a "rip the bandage right off" moment. Then a jump ahead in time to show that any semblance of Jimmy is gone and Saul has completely taken over.

Regarding the wine scene and Gus. I at first thought it was intended as a sad scene because we realize Gus can not allow friendships or relationships to distract him from his goals.

But, after seeing how cold blooded and sinister he was in BB, I wonder if he doesn't enjoy toying with people making them think he is a kind, gentle, generous man. He has moments as the Chicken Man supporting charities in the community or with the police where everyone says what a great guy he is. Those people and the ones at the restaurant would be shocked to learn the truth about him. 

I think he enjoys leading a "double life" and fooling so many people. He was talking about wine with the guy and when he walked away to get the bottle, Gus' eyes went black and he was back to being Gus the drug lord and left.
