***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (1 Viewer)

shouldn't all of the original walkers be starving by now? Looking back at the early seasons, they were pretty spry -they should be decomposing. getting slower, and starving by now, no?
All that has been said in the TV series is that it takes them a very long time to starve but never specfically said how long they can go with out eating.

The comic series breaks it down in more detail.

Yeah, and what about the gasoline? Has anybody wondered why the gasoline is still good?
I don't think that's been brought up yet.
there were a couple of Wawa's that were unaffected by the plague..

we will find out what the A meant, and what the new group is all about.
I thought we already knew? Wasn't that just the path marker, i.e. the way they diverted them to get them to the back where they had everyone in position at the fence. I think it was all about herding them to the rail car, which is why they didn't shoot them, just made them go along the A path. I don't recall the analogy, but they discussed herding something else as a prelude to that scene.
yeah, that's right. I mean, the further implications of the A, not just the mousetrap, like the entire scheme behind this group
Gotcha, yeah definitely be interesting to learn about them. I thought you may not have seen what I mentioned and the A on the freight car as packersfan mentioned.

That group is extremely well managed/organized. As soon as they saw Rick et al (before or after the entered, not sure), they went into full plan mode and had everything setup to drive them to the freight car depending upon their reaction to the previous group's stuff (Glen and Herschel's watch, the prison riot gear and Maggie's shawl). It would be interesting to know if Rick hadn't reacted like that if they would have been more welcoming. IMHO, it was a test since that one guy that got shot tried to say he had it under control. The head guy (can't recall the name) told him he didn't, shot him and set them down the A train path.
the leader of the new group seemed like some type of former intelligence officer. I noticed he only said the minimum necessary to retain control of the situation with ricks group and defuse everything, which to me seems like your prototypical special forces/spook type personality.
Absolutely agree. Pretty sure I posted the same thoughts back in this thread during that episode. They were far too organized and had that psy ops knowledge to put the things that they might notice in plain sight. My thought was that they did that in order to test this group. Once they get one set of visitors, they assume that the next set could be there to save the first set or find out what happened to them. If they don't notice/react then they might change to a new visitor test versus a second group test.

That and the fact that they appeared to be extremely well armed and well timed/accurate. They were able to herd them through very precisely just with well timed and accurate shots. If they aren't some sort of special forces/military/CIA/FBI agents, I would be a bit disappointed. Oh, and by FBI, I am talking about normal well trained FBI, not Kevin Bacon FBI.
ummmm
Based upon The Following, there is no doubt that none of the FBI team would survive hour one of the zombie apocalypse. It would go something like this:

Bacon: Oh no, Egg has been bitten by that cult member. Ham, go check on him and remember to lock the front door.

Ham: Damnit, Egg is down and he's turning. I'll have to put him down.

Ham fires bullet grazing Egg's skull that ricochets killing Sausage, standing guard at the front door.

Bacon: Damnit Ham, how hard is it to put a bullet in his skull.

Bacon fires, putting Egg out of his misery.

Zombie bursts through open front door grabbing Ham and tearing Ham to shreds.

Bacon: ### ####it. I'm outta here.

Bacon slips on Ham's blood discharging his weapon into his stomach while zombie bites his leg.

My theory is that the virus creates a form of clear form of chlorophyll that the zombies use for energy. This is why they have less energy at night (made that up).

Good because zombies love the self ordering screens

What's really going on at Terminus?

Are they cannibals and if so why?

What's going on in that room with the bones?

Who is Gareth and what's his story?

If Rick and the group work with Gareth to get to DC how are they spared and why are they working together and how is that partnership formed?

How will Rick and Abraham co-exist?

Is Rick really OK with Tara being in the group knowing she was part of the Governor's group?

Where is Beth?

That's just off the top of my head but it seems like a lot of stuff that can be addressed on Sunday night.

The previews over the last couple weeks have pretty much ruined this episode.
Only seen them once a while back and don't remember much. I'll make sure to avoid them now.
It's a safe way to do things but there's still a lot of things in play we know nothing about, starting first and foremost with what's going on at Terminus and the reasons why.

Little over 24 hours to go. Psyched.

Maybe I'm just busier now but it seems like was more buildup before last season began. I remember there being a lot more revealed on what the upcoming season was going to be like

Really? Does it really matter what they "give away"?

The writing (suspense) on this show is about 6th grade level.
While that may be true they basically showed who lives. WE all know they will get out of whatever that place is called. The problem is that they showed exactly what happened. If you saw them there is no suspense on how they get out of there. Of course, the best highlight was the solo, full frontal nudity scene with Maggie.

Oops. Forgot to 'spoiler' that.

Does anyone here buy episodes for streaming on Amazon? Are the episodes available the next day?
I bought season 5 on Google Play. I think they are available the day after airing, based in what I read, but I am not 100% certain.

I was pretty peeved with myself for watching the little 6 minute "Season Preview" that recorded on my DVR recently. It basically gave away the plot for the first half of the season. I'll leave it at that, rather than specifics of what was given away, but it took a bit of the suspense for the leadup to the initial episode. And I'm not generally one to care much about spoilers, but this seemed pretty egregious. I don't blame them for doing what they did, I blame myself for watching it, but damn, I didn't expect them to give so much away in 3 minutes of non-ad previews.

Preview just came on and I switched the station. I could be way off, but it seemed like they showed a lot more on-set stuff prior to previous seasons.

Don't do this to yourselves, guys. There's little enough story on this show to ruin it by watching previews.

I'll admit that I was one of the people #####ing about the first half of Season 2 and almost gave up on the show. It came back strong in the second half and hasn't let up since.

Psyched for tonight!

Right there with you on 2nd season, except I hated the Guv'nah and thought he dragged the show down.

They ruined that character compared to the comics.

If they ever introduce Nagen, I hope they don't ruin him too.

I thought the Guvnah character was pretty good on the show. I thought Morissey did a fantastic job.

Besides, if they made everything exactly like the comics then there would be no reason to read the comics.

I also thought Morissey did a real good job in the role. My biggest problem with the third season was Andrea's inexplicable character arc. That was really poorly done.

I've wondered if Mazarra being fired had anything to do with Andrea's storyline that season. It was poorly received by many/most fans and there reportedly was some serious re-writing of the finale that he wrote. One scene that really felt tacked on was Andrea trying to explain why she did what she did. It really had the feel of "We've screwed the pooch here badly but let's see if there's any way we can write something now that makes her come off as something less than a complete idiot."
