So what is the deal with Rick cutting his hand? had to have shown that for a reason
Alien zombies! Now that's a show I want to see.Sure if they have a Zombie walk him out of there as a friend, or he just stands up and dusts himself off, or an alien drops down a escape ladder from a space ship.. then yea.. a bit much..
Really? So what is the deal with Rick cutting his hand? had to have shown that for a reason
I read this in a fake Jerry Seinfeld voice. So what is the deal with Rick cutting his hand? had to have shown that for a reason
That's my thought, too. What it meant for me... Spoiler is in regards to comic books so tread lightly...He is already infected though, per Season 2, right?.I don't think he is infected because I don't think he's going anywhere. If you saw the machete, it was in the zombie's shoulder. I am thinking that someone chopped at the zombie and it got stuck, but the front part he hit with his hand wasn't actually in the zombie. He may have also cut himself on his knife. I couldn't really tell. I'm just guessing because it has been long enough that if he was infected chopping off his arm wouldn't work anymore. I think if he thought he was infected, he would have sliced the hand right then and there.Does he still have time to amputate his arm?Cut, but the blade was covered in zombie guts. It was shown last week in the preview too.All this talk of Glenn, what was up with Ricks hand?
It's just a pesky flesh wound device for adding to the struggle, imo.
I stopped reading the comic books at about the Governor part.. But Rick loses his hand to the Gov, so this might be a way for the Directors/Writers to "catch up" to the comics..
I'm fine with the main characters surviving. It's more a bone to pick with a guy falling into a horde of Walkers with no obvious escape and be in the middle of a feeding frenzy. Then surviving. Keep him out of impossible situations to let him survive. That's the reason I hope he's dead. You have to have a core group of survivors. Otherwise, you constantly have to bring in more characters.....and how did they magically survive all this time. Some people must survive the whole time.....until you are wrapping up the show. Then you can kill them all off.I hope he dies. I like Glenn, I think he's a good character. But if none of the main characters ever die and these kind of impossible odds don't kill them. I don't know I think it hurts the show. For me at least.
I thought it was pretty clear too until Gimple's message on The Talking Dead.FWIW, I didn't really think Glen's death was ambiguous at all when I watched it.
“So I’ll say this – In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story,”I thought it was pretty clear too until Gimple's message on The Talking Dead.FWIW, I didn't really think Glen's death was ambiguous at all when I watched it.

at the same time..but i didn'tWe used protection.don't forget Maggie is pregnant..
He'll be doing a lot to preaching before then.I imagine Morgan will die too. Can't be going around for too long giving people who want to kill you second chances.
Especially if they're dedicating an entire episode to him. He'll be doing a lot to preaching before then.I imagine Morgan will die too. Can't be going around for too long giving people who want to kill you second chances.
Delivering pizzas.Did we ever have any airtime of Glen pre-apocalypse?
Where he was. What he was doing etc...
Lori also came back in a couple episodes as visions to Rick when they were at the prisonDidn't Hershel appear in an ep or 2 after he died as a flashback?
Maybe we get Glen back like Dexter's father as a moral compass for Maggie.
I recall mentioning that but where their scenes?Delivering pizzas.Did we ever have any airtime of Glen pre-apocalypse?

Shane did too. Same with Amy and Jim on the phone with Rick.Lori also came back in a couple episodes as visions to Rick when they were at the prisonDidn't Hershel appear in an ep or 2 after he died as a flashback?

Most of the times the show used flashbacks was to update where a character has been and what they have been doing since the last time we saw them. More importantly you don't need the ambiguity of his death to do either of those things. In my mind there is only one reason to not have it definitive.Didn't Hershel appear in an ep or 2 after he died as a flashback?

But that could also be a flashback during that episodeFWIW...a picture has been leaked of "episode 11" with Glen standing around with Maggie, Rick and Darryl
I'm on board for a Walking Dead/X-Files cross-over. Since Scully and Maggie are both single now maybe they could find some comfort with one another during these tough times. If Glenn survived no way I would agree that the show would have jumped the shark. Even if the alien thing happened I would still say no. The show is so damn good right now that it would take several impossible/implausible things in a row like that to happen for it to jump the shark.
These first 3 episodes have been great. As tony the tiger said, they're grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr8
I agree with you. It's been a great start. I think he's dead, but the seemed to leave the door open and it wouldn't bother me much if they showed how he got away.If Glenn survived no way I would agree that the show would have jumped the shark. Why do you hate good writing?I mean yeah it would seem real stupid if he fell off the dumpster with a hoard around him and laid there for a while and survived. Countless shows have left little end of show/season cliffhangers like this before, and then during the next show they show was REALLy happened which was ever so slightly different from what we saw at the end of the previous show.
For example in this case, when the camera panned out and you see a hoard of walkers eating at the dumpster, he may have already escaped, but they did not show that part. They may have just skipped from him laying there seeing Nicholas get eaten to a view of the entire area from above, skipping how he got out of it. Could have been the flare, could have been gunfire elsewhere, could have been something else.
Hopefully he survives in a dumb way so the show haters will stop watching. Nah. That isnt even a possibility. You people will NEVER stop watching. Ever.
My guess is when Maggie shoots out that baby they will cgi Glens face on it or make it a little Glenn like in the Hobbit.:X and“So I’ll say this – In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback or in the current story to help complete the story,”I thought it was pretty clear too until Gimple's message on The Talking Dead.FWIW, I didn't really think Glen's death was ambiguous at all when I watched it.at the same time..
I am not one to defend every little thing about the show and I do like good writing....but take this show for what it is - just a fun show to watch. Why do you hate good writing?I mean yeah it would seem real stupid if he fell off the dumpster with a hoard around him and laid there for a while and survived. At least by S1E3 when Merle hacks his arm off without bleeding out and they smear zombie goo on themselves. There was never really any shark to jump. It's been pretty sharkless from S1E1.

This show isn't Breaking Bad or Fargo and never will be...but it is still a great show IMO...why can't people accept that by now?
Link?FWIW...a picture has been leaked of "episode 11" with Glen standing around with Maggie, Rick and Darryl
If you didn't like the Guts episode you probably should've stopped watching then. That was terrific. At least by S1E3 when Merle hacks his arm off without bleeding out and they smear zombie goo on themselves. There was never really any shark to jump. It's been pretty sharkless from S1E1.
