QB Cam Newton, Retired (5 Viewers)

Dodds dropped him from QB4 on Thurs rankings, to QB18 on Sunday rankings. I know he adjusts throughout the week but this seems like a massive drop... any reason?

How many points he drop him, 2 or 3?

Not much separation between qb4 projections and qb14

It's pretty incredible how great he's been with Greg Olsen being by far his best weapon. The rest of those WRs are not good.

Funny how quiet this thread gets when Cam is winning.
Did you expect anything different? I'm patiently waiting for ITS and his crew to fire up the "Russell sucks because he has to bail himself out with his legs; that's not what NFL QBs do" shtick, but somehow I don't think he'll get around to it. The QB position is evolving and it's pretty fun to have a front row seat watching that evolution.

What a beast. Saw yesterday he was averaging the 3rd lowest yards per completion. He's doing the Brady thing and just nickel-n-diming. That's some safe football to play.

Really like this guy. It's obvious how much fun he has playing the game.

With that said, what is that little "step thing" he is doing now before his Superman celebration?

That's primarily because he's ranked somewhere around 45-50 in the league in completion percentage.

Plays over 20 yards are actually up this year.

He almost lost them the game with a terrible interception.
But he didn't. He won them the game. As he's won them every game.
One might argue the defense bailed him out by intercepting Rodgers after that. I was just pointing out that he almost lost them that game throwing a bad throw on first and ten when all they needed to do was chew some clock and get a couple first downs.

I think he's looked great all year, just pointing out an observation from yesterday.

what would completion percentage have to do with his yards per completion?

I'm pretty sure he meant yards per attempt. I can't find any yards per completion stats. Scanning the stats, he's not the 3rd lowest in yards per completion. ypa is 7.4 (went up this week), ypc is 13.8. Brady sits at 12 ypc.

Lol @ the Zod/Superman references. I see what you guys did there...

Anyway, does anyone know what that little dance is/or is called?

it's just fun to see an unconventional future HOF QB play the game. he's just a winner and gets the job done. will be surprised if he doesn't have at least 3 SB rings by the time he's done.

I like what you're smoking, but it's time to put the pipe down.

That argument would be, at best, uninformed. I'd classify it as completely shortsighted personally. He had the team up by 20+ points and I didn't see him on the defensive side of the ball. Fortunately, this team plays for each other and recognize they are a team in all three phases. They don't pass blame, so it really doesn't matter what goofs on the internet are saying.

Gotta love the hard core fans. Good for you man!

See guys, it's not just the Eagles fans.

Cam is actually 2nd in yards per completion (highest). http://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2015/passing.htm

17th in yards per attempt.

I might be delusional, a Cam fan but not really a Panthers fan. But both the HOF and a few SB trips is possible here.

The poor child nine year old, seeing someone point and dance. How will she ever manage to get those horrid thoughts out of her head.

How can she grow up in a world where a man playing a game danced because he was happy to score a touchdown? Terrorists? Pssh. School shootings? Who cares. The true plague on society is a football player having fun on the field.

Also, I'm looking forward to the letter she writes to the Titans player who was doing the Drake's hotline dance after sacking Newton.
