QB Shedeur Sanders, CLE (2 Viewers)

Marcellus Wiley
Crazy how life works…Shedeur could’ve started this weekend if he didn’t say no to the Ravens 🤯
And in four weeks I'm sure the Ravens would stick with the rookie over the 2-time league MVP.
That would be great.
Right now, he's got another rookie QB Dillion Gabriel in front of him.
Marcellus is wrong, he's in a much better long-term position to become an NFL starter.
It is good that the Browns are in no hurry to thrust him in before he's ready as they address a major issue on the O-Line and now there #2 WR Cedric Tillman lands on IR. Don't forget Judkins wasn't available for the first game and was limited over the next two games, so the rushing attack is just getting up to speed. Then rookie TE Harold Fannin is getting better each week as is rookie WR Issaih Bond.
Not only is Sheduer learning, the O-Line 'should' improve along with the running game.
If Gabriel hits then it will be tough but more than likely, the kid will get his shot before the end of the season.
By the time he gets his shot, the O-Line 'should' stabilize at the critical OLT position, the running game will be tighter and with Bond the WR room will have a legit vertical deep threat, and he'll have the benefit of that D if/when he makes the inevitable rookie QB mistakes.

Cle should have reversed the order.
Just get this drama out of the way. Start Shedeur this week instead of Dillon. Tell him okay here you go. You get 4 games.
But no. Cle will be Cle. They still carrying this baggage.

SS wouldn't survive 1 full game. He'd get sacked probably 10 times! Then they cld send him to practice squad until he gets "IT"!

After the Browns named Dillon Gabriel their new starting quarterback, Shedeur Sanders reacted with a full mime:
That sort of behavior is probably why his draft stock fell through the floor and why he’s still 3rd string on a team like the Browns. Dillon Gabriel has more maturity in one finger than this mime wannabe has within his entire body.
Either that, or his hair cut. Yikes!

Must be a Michigan Wolverines fan

Oh man. This guy just doesn’t get it. I’m going to be surprised if he ever becomes a successful NFL quarterback.

So many better ways to handle this as a teammate instead of drawing attention to yourself yet again.

If I had to name more than one 3rd string QB in the NFL... I don't think I could do it (on the spot).

Sanders is certainly not 100% to blame for the "drama" we are all fed on a daily basis. How many other 3rd string QBs get filmed at practice and have "reporters" following them around for hot takes?

This is exactly what NFL teams want from their 3rd stringer. They don’t want someone making the news by pulling stuff like this.

Of course the media is going to try to get him to do stuff like this because it gets them clicks. But he does actually have control over what he says. He should know better, but he just can’t help himself. He loves being the center of attention. I thought the draft tumble might have humbled him, but that is obviously not the case.

Why would they start a QB who they think is less talented or less prepared??

Get that saga out of the way and done.
The coach is trying not to lose his job, I think he wants to win more than prove some other member of the front office and fans wrong

If the market didn't react to him, then reporters aren't interviewing him. It's not difficult for this to go away, but it requires the market to behave intelligently. They won't.

Thats not a bad idea but they're not a bad team, if you need to do that sort of circus just cut him

And here we are, part of the market.
Correct. If the populace really doesn't want to engage about Shedeur then they wouldn't react to pieces involving him. That ain't reality though. The media is simply giving the market what they're telling them they want.

I initially had we in there, but altered course. I'm not taking ownership for simply calling attention to the short comings of others.

Reporters like the spotlight too as does Sheduer.

I thought it was disingenuous to interview and shed light on Sheduer today.

Gabriel deserved his moment

That is so SPOT ON! Rookie QB named as starter in the NFL... nobody (that I have seen) cared enough to get his thoughts. They were probably tripping over themselves to get a camera in Sanders face though to get his reaction out there!

That is sick behavior.

If you're not part of the solution...

Let's be real, he's good TV. Nothing wrong with enjoying it. Not sure why it bothers people so much.

Personally, it completely lacks professionalism and maturity when he had a chance to congratulate and support a teammate. This after he has already had a lot of chances to learn from these types of behavior patterns. Secondly, if its intention was to be funny…it failed for me. Shadeur the Clown may just be his next act. Tough guy to root for from my seat.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Deion learned from Jerry that any press is good press. Deion loved the cameras and said/did some ridiculous things. However, he was also one of the best players to ever suit up as well. Unlike SS. I'm sure Deion is shaking his head..."not now son...not yet."

So sick of all the Sanders talk.
Let him play so EVERYONE including his daddy can see he's not even close to being ready play at this level.
I'd love to see him mske a fool of himself.

Theirs are reason the coaches have Flacco as backup.

Seems best to have the veteran backup whoever got the start. But the Browns have seen enough of Sanders to know if he should start.
People are seeing why he fell.

That’s the thing. While many of us would prefer the Barry sanders approach of quiet professionalism. We’ll accept the Deion sanders approach of cockiness backed up. Others of us prefer the colonel sanders approach to finger licking good cockiness, nobody wants the shadeur sanders approach of unsupported cockiness.

Hope SS plays better default somehow this weekend and shows the freaking world he's far from being an NFL QB.

He's like the Bronny James of football. But a better player at his sport..
So sick of hearing about him.

Can't wait to see him fall face on his face just to shut up a bunch of people that think he's not starting for other reasons ,other than he sucks and not ready to lead a team at this level..

Kinda weird they are hesitating to put him #2 at this point. Wonder what he is like in personal one on one conversations with coaches. I'd assume, because they haven't named him #2, that it's not good. Imo

My guess is they want Gabriel to not feel pressured by having him looking over his shoulder and all the media attention it would cause. By keeping Sanders 3rd they are keeping him “somewhat” irrelevant to give Gabriel some breathing room.

Okay. I can see that I guess. I will say, if he can't handle a little heat from the 5th round competition, then he isn't the guy. Personally, I'd let those two openly go at each other, both knowing its a competition.

Sorta. He had a long distance to travel from college football to the pros. Too much improvisation for the NFL. He's coming along...

I'm not sure how anybody who watched college football last year would rate Gabriel over Sanders, but here we are.
No question a big part of the reason Gabriel is starting over Samders is greater maturity. At the cerebral QB position, talent will only carry you so far. Sanders will get his chance if he shows he’s capable between the ears.
