Trevor Lawrence went to Jacksonville as the Jaguars' first-ever No. 1 overall pick. His plan to bring the Jags to relevance was derailed by Urban Meyer in Year 1, but things were supposed to turn around in 2022 with Doug Pederson.
Almost halfway through the season, Lawrence has shown the sort of linear progression you'd expect for such a heralded pick. The Jags are 2-6 after their 21-17 loss to Denver in London, and Lawrence knows his play must improve after a two-interception performance.
"I've got to play better, and I'll leave it at that," Lawrence told reporters after the game. "I didn't play well enough today to win."
Lawrence has thrown six interceptions this season. All six have come in the red zone or in the final two minutes of a one-score game.
Against Denver, Lawrence threw a terrible interception in the end zone, just 1 yard away from scoring in the second quarter. Later, trailing by four points with less than 2 minutes left in the game, the potential game-winning drive ended as soon as it started with an interception.
"We're just going to continue to grow. We're going to grow together," head coach Doug Pederson said after the game. "I just told him to keep his head up, stay confident. I want to put the ball back in his hands and just show the trust that we have, that I have, in him and that the team has. He knows that we've got to be better in a few situations, but again, those are really good learning opportunities for Trevor."
The Jaguars have yet to win a game this season when they commit a turnover. After going 2-4 in one-score games last year, the Jags are 0-6 in games decided by eight or fewer points.
And while Lawrence has been one of the league's worst fourth-quarter quarterbacks, his play in the final four minutes of halves is most concerning.
In the final four minutes of the second and fourth quarters, Lawrence is 34-of-68 for 331 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. Only rookie Kenny Pickett has thrown more interceptions. He's also going for the big play, with only Aaron Rodgers attempting more throws of 15 plus yards in the air. And his 50.6 passer rating is the third-worst among qualified passers.
There shouldn't have been realistic expectations of playoffs or bust for the Jaguars this year, but what the Jags and Lawrence are doing right now qualifies as below expectation.
Yes, the next 2 games set up for him to have better days. If not, his bye right after those would make him go bye-bye.Next 2 Games we will watch Trevor light up the Raiders and the Chiefs, if that doesn't happen, then I'll worry.

For anyone with a Joe Burrow Week 10 Bye coming up I would point to Lawrence who might be available or even released this week for other options.
Trevor Lawrence completed 25-of-31 passes for 235 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 53 yards on six totes in the Jaguars' 27-20, Week 9 win over the Raiders.
The Jaguars fell in a 17-0 hole early in the game's first 20 minutes, but knocking off the rust from their Week 8 London trip too some time, and Lawrence found Christian Kirk for a seven-yard touchdown in the third quarter. That was sandwiched around a pair of Travis Etienne rushing scores. Lawrence tossed multiple touchdowns in three straight games Weeks 2-4 but hasn't accomplished the feat since. He has an 11:6 TD:INT mark after nine weeks. Lawrence will be a middling QB2 next week against the Chiefs.

Trevor Lawrence completed 29-of-40 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns in the Jaguars' 27-17, Week 10 loss to the Chiefs.
Lawrence added 26 rushing yards on four carries. The Jags only put 17 points on the board in the loss, but Lawrence had a solid outing all things considered. He was sacked five times and the run game didn't get going, so any offensive production had to come from his arm. The Jags also committed five penalties to Kansas City's zero. Lawrence made a handful of impressive throws including tossing two scores to a tightly-covered Christian Kirk. Lawrence has flashed arm talent and consistently adds fantasy value with his legs. In a favorable matchup versus the Ravens' secondary, Lawrence could push for QB1 numbers after his Week 11 bye.

Wingard himself seems like a hell of a dude.
Trevor Lawrence completed 17-of-31 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 40-14, Week 13 loss to the Lions, adding four rushes for 32 additional yards.
Coming off the best start of his young career, Lawrence had an extremely disappointing day against a shaky Lions defense. He was lucky to post the production he did, as his touchdown came after a late second quarter knee scare. Lawrence hurt his knee on the final play of the first half and managed only 55 yards passing after the fact. It will be something to keep an eye on during the week, but Lawrence seemed to both be moving well and scrambling after getting rolled up. We would assume he will be out there against the Titans in Week 14. It's another plus matchup, but Lawrence has proven to be a low-upside, if high-floor, streamer in his good spots.

Trevor Lawrence is "day to day" with a sprained toe and did not practice Wednesday.
“We'll just keep him out today even though tempo-wise it's more walkthrough tempo,” Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday. “He'll get all the mental reps today, but nothing from the standpoint of moving around.” Lawrence suffered what appeared to be a serious injury in Week 13's loss to Detroit. He returned in the second half and finished the game with 179 yards and a touchdown on 31 passes in a blowout loss to the Lions. Pederson said Lawrence would "do everything he can in his power to try to be out there" for Week 14's game against the Titans. Lawrence would be a fine QB2 option against a pass funnel Tennessee defense.

Trevor Lawrence (toe) said he expects to play in Week 14 against the Titans.
Lawrence went down with a painful toe injury in Week 13. He went down right before halftime but managed to play through the injury in the second half. After being held out of practice on Wednesday, it's clear the team will be closely monitoring his reps this week, but disaster appears to have been avoided in Jacksonville. Lawrence could push for QB1 numbers while facing a pass-funnel defense in Tennessee.

Trevor Lawrence (toe) did not practice on Thursday.
Lawrence is already on record saying that he expects to play in Week 14 against the Titans, but two straight missed practices to start the week isn't a great sign. A limited practice on Friday would be a good sign that Lawrence could suit up for the team's Week 14 matchup, but if he's unable to go, it would be C.J. Beathard who draws the start. Lawrence would have some top-12 upside if he's able to suit up on Sunday.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Trevor Lawrence (toe) will practice Friday.
Even if it's only a limited session, Lawrence should be fine for Week 14's game against the Titans. He's played well of late, throwing six touchdowns and no interceptions over Jacksonville's past three games. Lawrence is a decent QB2 play against a Titans defense that ranks among the most extreme pass funnels in the NFL this season.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (questionable, toe) is expected to play in Week 14 vs the Titans.
Coach Doug Pederson called Lawrence, who only got in one limited practice this week, a game-time decision. Lawrence has been pushing the coaching staff to play and is on track to start as Jacksonville (4-8) looks to keep their slim playoff chances alive. Averaging over 250 yards with a 6:0 TD/INT ratio the last three weeks, Lawrence gets a matchup with a Titans secondary that's been one of the league's worst, allowing over 275 yards per game.

Trevor Lawrence completed 30-of-42 attempts for 368 and three touchdowns, adding three carries for seven yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 36-22, Week 14 win over the Titans.
Lawrence bounced back in a huge way from his down performance against the Titans. Not only did he have a productive passing day, but Travis Etienne was completely shut down in the running game. The offense was fully on Lawrence's shoulders here. Despite entering Sunday as questionable with a toe injury, Lawrence looked healthy and was plenty productive against a Titans defense that is turning into a massive pass funnel. He found Evan Engram for a TD on a crossing route in the first quarter and then found Engram again in the second half for a 21-yard TD. He also found Zay Jones for a 20-yard TD, on which Jones made a nice grab on a deflected ball. Lawrence also got to the outside on a one-yard run for another score. Lawrence will have a much more difficult time dropping back against the Cowboys in Week 15, but this outing was still a very positive sign.

Trevor Lawrence (toe) was not seen at practice on Wednesday.
Lawrence missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday last week. He suited up for a limited session on Friday and then picked apart the Titans' defense two days later. He will likely get a similar practice regimen this week as he continues to deal with the toe injury. Lawrence faces the Cowboys' defense this week, sending him tumbling down the QB2 ranks, but at least the toe doesn't appear to be an issue.

Trevor Lawrence completed 27-of-42 attempts for 318 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in the Jaguars' 40-34, Week 15 win over the Cowboys.
Lawrence's interception was a bad decision that was undercut by a Cowboys defender. Lawrence also lost a fumble that was almost extremely costly. While scrambling for a first down in the fourth quarter, Lawrence was looking to tack on additional yards with the Jaguars just outside of field goal position. However, the ball was knocked out, and Dallas took over possession up three with just 1:28 left in the fourth quarter. Lawrence got a chance to redeem himself and did, driving the Jaguars down the field in the final minute of the game for a game-tying field goal. Lawrence's four TD day was powered by three Zay Jones scores and one Marvin Jones score. Three of his TDs were short passes, but the fourth was a 59-yard bomb to Zay Jones. Lawrence's big day against the Cowboys is far more impressive than his big day against the Titans in Week 14, given the big upgrade in defensive strength. Lawrence gets another difficult matchup against the Jets next week but will be productive if he plays as well as he has the last two weeks.

Trevor Lawrence (toe) is questionable for Week 16 against the Jets.
Lawrence was limited in practice this week and should be fine for Thursday night against a Jets secondary allowing the league's eighth lowest expected points added per drop back since Week 8. Lawrence has hit his stride last in the season, throwing for 11 touchdowns over the past four games while eclipsing 300 passing yards in three of those contests. He's a top-12 option even in an unfavorable Week 16 matchup.

Trevor Lawrence (toe) is active for Week 16 against the Jets.
Lawrence's status was never in doubt. The question remains his potential performance in wet and windy conditions vs. the Jets' elite pass defense. Lawrence has been leveling up over the past month — including last Sunday against Dallas' top-tier unit — but tonight's weather is a genuine wild card. Ultimately, we could not drop Lawrence out of the top 12 for the fantasy semifinals. He belongs somewhere in the QB9-12 range. He is also far from the only signal caller dealing with adverse Week 16 conditions. Inactive for the Jags are WR Kendric Pryor, CB Montaric Brown, CB Gregory Junior, OLB Travon Walker, OLB De’Shaan Dixon, OL Cam Robinson and DL Folorunso Fatukasi.

Trevor Lawrence completed 20-of-31 passes for 229 yards in the Jaguars' 19-3, Week 16 win over the Jets, adding seven rushes for 51 additional yards and a touchdown.
In a classic "better in real life than fantasy" performance, Lawrence was making some tough throws in rainy, windy conditions, but the Jags kept bogging down in the red zone. Thankfully, he saved some face with his second 50-yard rushing performance of the season and fifth ground score. He went over the top of the pile for a one-yard TD. Lawrence's toe did not appear to be an issue whatsoever. Once again locked onto Evan Engram in the passing game (7/113), Lawrence didn't find anyone else for more than 29 yards receiving. It wasn't a perfect game, obviously, but Lawrence is now making a weekly habit of putting really strong play on film, while also cutting back on his turnovers. That, of course, does not include a lost fumble on tonight's opening possession, which led to the Jets' only points. Continuing to level up as a sophomore, Lawrence has a tissue-soft Week 17 matchup in the Texans.
