He just looked so good in college. Really thought he was the perfect package. Size, arm strength, mobility, etc. The opposite of Bryce Young. Definitely under performing. The only knock I can see is he throws a really flat ball and they often sail high. Not the most catchable throws. But there has to be more to it. OL always critical to QB success and that’s part of it. But most of it is on him

You cannot have that approach, he should have stuck up for his QB and taken some of the blame/heat off him by saying he was calling the wrong plays last night
Even if it's not true, protect your investment/QB

Feels a bit click baity and out of context. He was just saying that everything is on the table. Not sure he singled anyone out really.
Lawrence admitted he needs to play better so that is a leadership quality.
Lawrence might just be one of those limited players where you need to scheme correctly for him and not for the team in the Darnold way. That sucks but that's how it goes with the QB 12 to 24 range in the league.

He peaked Freshman year at Clemson, very odd. Slow steady decline since, no growth.
Pederson has to be on borrowed time. This statement isn't going to help just like you said.

They just renamed the stadium TrEver Bank. Doubt they are considering benching him. There is something amiss with Goldie locks though, not sure if he lacks true passion for the game or just is not as good as most projected him to be. He seems to lack the fire from my amateur observation and certainly is missing throws that seem like they should be routine.

He's always struck me as a manufactured front man, and quite a milquetoast one at that.
At the end of the day, we're talking about a franchise and a QB who quite amicably came to a top of the market contract for quite middling production. But now that he's paid at that elite level, all the 'he's still developing narratives' don't carry water and from my POV...his curated path to franchise QB is going to work against him.

This guy blew the Dolphin game in week one (Pederson) with hus playcalling.
I fire this guy now. Lawrence is not going anywhere. But he has really regressed since mid season last year.
He is very salvageable unlike some of the other busts around the league.

That's true, the Jags handed that game to Miami, the Dolphins were beat and they went for it at like their own 30 on 4th and 1?
It was the difference in the game and that rests on Coach's shoulder, no one else

Played his first game as a rookie on Page 8 of this thread.

Last night I noticed that it seems like he spends way too much time in the huddle getting the play call in and translated to the offense, I'd like to see him go hurry up more and see what the defense is doing before he snaps the football. By the time he gets up there, he has to be ready to snap the ball too quickly
Maybe dial the playbook back and also they have 2 good RBs and don't seem to have a cohesive running game that can take pressure off Lawrence.
Just my observations, no excuses, he looks like crap right now

I think that's what happens when the "generational" tag gets indiscriminately thrown around in scouting/coaching/fantasy circles.
Or maybe it's just the golden locks.

I think it's what happens when people have skin in the game.
People spent three years taking turns giving TLaw gentle massages online--before he got to the NFL. Meantime Caleb and ARich have people waiting for them to fail.
Look, TLaw was always going to get the benefit of the doubt. No one wants to be the person to say the NFL's first lesbian QB was going to fail.

All the money spent analyzing these "generational" talents, Wonderlic tests. coaching interviews (overpaid consultants), combines (if they go), NCAA "career", etc. does not amount to anything when a boy becomes a man. And I'm not belittling the task of becoming an NFL QB... quite the opposite, I believe it is the most difficult job in all of sports. And I believe that all of these prime cut elite prospects have the physical tools and maybe even the mental capacity to go along with it to get the job done... but there is no way to tell how a boy is going to react to being thrust into the position where so many people (grown men) are getting paid to ruin your life on a weekly basis while you're trying to transition into a new lifestyle, a new role, new offensive scheme, and (for most) on a bad team.
Sadly, draft position determines how much rope and how many chances a lot of these guys get to live up to their own hype. In reality though, it becomes clear pretty fast if they have "it" or not. Trevor Lawrence always has that look like he's still learning, still adapting... and because of the HOF jacket he was given before his first NFL practice, he may still look like that 6-7 years from now. Then there are the Brock Purdy's of the world... has to prove himself on a weekly basis despite having an obvious command of the offense and understanding of NFL defenses because he was "Mr. Irrelevant."
It's nothing we haven't seen before. Lawrence is a good QB... but he hasn't done a single thing to spark interest in the NFL (IMO) to make me jump out of my seat. I just think we would have seen it by now.

I thought we saw it on their playoff run and he had a good start to half a season last year and it has been a bad run since.
ARich has shown nothing and showed he could not hit the broad side of a barn in college and showed he is highly injury prone in high school and college.
I never bought into him.
Caleb Williams to me if they get him an offensive line, can be a superstar.
I gave Trevor some rope because year one he was a rookie and the coach was an unmitigated disaster. He improved dramatically in year 2.
Year 3 was a tale of two halves of a season.
It’s bad right now……but I have zero shares…..I don’t play FF. I love watching football.
I would trade Tua for him yesterday, today and tomorrow.
I hate my QB (Tua) not the person, but the utter overhype of a weak, small, injury prone QB who my team had no business taking over Justin Herbert who BTW keeps showing how tough he is. And that kid will be a star long term IMO. He has been beat to hell last season and this season.
Lawrence looks like he is losing confidence right now. They need to figure it out quick or he may start seeing ghosts soon (if he is not already).

Tua has that same look to me... still learning, no command, he's a "good" QB.
I was watching the day Justin Herbert started his first game, as a rookie, with about 1-hour notice. It took two drives to convince me that he was the man for the job and was never coming off the field (barring injury).
I saw 3 out of 4 QBs absolutely dealing last night on MNF that look every bit of a great NFL QB... the only one with any "stink" on him yet was a 4th year pro "generational" talent.

I was one of the few saying he was overrated since draft day, so it'd be easy for me to dunk on him. But to be fair in this comparison, he did show some promise early in his career. If ARich throws for 4100yds with 25 TD and 8 INT this year (TLaw's stats his second season in the NFL) no one is going to be calling for his head.
The problem with TLaw in the NFL was the same as the problem with TLaw in college. He played well for a new starter, but never got better from there. In college people just didn't notice because they didn't put his numbers in context (see the posts about that from a few pages back).
I'm not sure if it's work ethic or what, but basically this guy is the same guy he was when he was 17. Which was great for a 17 year old true freshman in college, but no so much for a 24 year old 4th year starter in the NFL.

- 5th in completions
- 7th in passing yards
- 17th in passing TD
- 30th in TD-to-INT ratio
- 31st in completion %
- 34th in YPA

Yet that performance level was deemed worthy of $200 million guaranteed.

Now, as much as I dislike Clemson being a Gamecock, I thought he had it. He even had the “hair” flip to go with it!!
I was an Urban Mayer apologist but that ship has sailed. His time to get past / overcome that obstacle is overdue
I will hold for now. But I can see a SF move sell low in his future

He also makes some throws very few can make. If he can do it once, he could do it again. He just doesn't. He's big, strong, and fast. He has a cannon for an arm. I chalk his lack of production up to him not working hard in practice - his fundamentals suck and are inconsistent, and also his brain seems to go haywire sometimes. This could be because he's not 100% bought in, he doesn't study enough game tape, doesn't understand how to be an NFL QB, has bad mentors, or he's just a dumb ***. Talent? I base that on the athletic gifts he has been given. Very few NFL QBs are built like him. There's a reason he was being mentioned in the same breath as Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck - TALENT. That said, talent does not equal production and there are a lot of both tangible and intangible factors at play well beyond your athletic gifts.

Think playing for Jacksonville is just a depressing situation. ****ty city, generally ****ty franchise, does nothing for his brand. Maybe better coaching could unlock him too but he’s average and the coaching is average to below average. Coaching can help lift all boats but I think he’s going the Derek Carr cousins route which isn’t the worst thing but it’s not franchise altering
But, but... analytics!
I haven't been impressed with Pederson since the beginning, even when everyone was singing his praises.

2 things about this I like.
1. Ownership of his own issues.
2. Did not throw his horrific OL or unimaginative OC under the bus.
Very subtle implication that he doesn’t get enough time which effects accuracy, but hey, show me the lie.
