QB Will Levis, TEN (3 Viewers)

Very good job by the GM.
The common thought is if he has to plug n play next year, he can. Well some of these players are old(er) and they may not be so intrigued by yet another rookie QB. It could backfire to some degree. Sure he can replace WRs if some leave but...just something to consider
9 games Levis had 8 TD passes (4 in his first game vs Atlanta) was sacked 28 times, 8 fumbles, and 4 INT

From the article "Levis is not a good player yet, but these moves suggest that the Titans are least giving him the chance to get there.
Levis’ rookie season was a mixed bag. The physical talent and ability to throw the ball can’t be questioned. However, the down-to-down accuracy and decision-making left a lot of room to be desired."

Decision making and accuracy issues aren't minor concerns. If this continues, he will be a turnover machine and Mr. Sack Tuah in the pocket. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mason take over sometime after the week 5 bye and keep the job.
My post was about the GM but in reply- I don't care. I've learned there are a small group of Mason Rudolph fan club that thinks he rocks and last year was affirmation for them and...I would be happy if either does well. There's a guy on X that schooled me about Rudolph's super serious concussion and how he needed at least a year to recover and statistically he's one of the best since then. News to me. If Rudolph is special and steals Levis' job that's a good thing. I've thought of this a few times and faaa I just want a top-ish QB. I don't really care who it is
I'm not a member of the Rudolph fan club.
He's not going to have a lot of practice reps relative to any other year. Second year QB in new offense with new teammates will be given the lion's share to learn. I don't doubt he can learn and can learn and run a system as a veteran, he's done it before, but it's still a big ask.
This is a terrible setup for Malik. After what I mentioned, maybe some days they do want the veteran to get some work. Well then where's the reps for the developmental guy that needs reps? I'll tell ya though he's also a monkey wrench here. He has incredible athleticism. His arm strength and speed are woah. Will it be a waste of time if the new staff gets teased by it and wants to see what he can do with an opportunity? What if he does well? Then what? I don't have him stealing a job or being anything other than third string but I do wonder about his impact on practice time.
Reps are going to be a problem for Rudolph

Sidenote- Malik is a fun topic on some platforms. People have him being cut and some team picking him up and the fans are all No Way! After what our coach did with so-and-so there's no way he doesn't start that athleticism and no way do I want my team adding him. And something like "Guy can throw it to the parking lot. He'd definitely start for us. Do not sign him!" He's a fun tangent to discuss overdrafting athleticism (he wasn't but others) and also the UFL as a minor league. I enjoy Malik topics very much.

I doubt this happens.
Do you see him as the long term answer in TEN?
I see him getting a full year to determine that.

I also don’t see Rudolph as a significant upgrade, or the long-term answer in TEN.

So at worst I see Levis as the QB for 2024, and at best with the improved weapons he’ll take hold of the job & become a long-term solution.

But IMO they’re going to give him a year to find out.

I hope he works out. Have 10% Levis out of 172 best ball drafts because the offense has potential to put up good scores for a very cheap price tag. Levis is the favorite.

Have a few shares of Mason as an outlier play because I believe he is the better QB. Could give me an edge in these giant contests if he hits. Obviously last round pick when Levis got sniped.

Def think there’s some promise there with Levis beyond the cannon arm and muscles. Last season was it against Dolphins ? Took Titans on a game winning drive all the way down the field showing good composure and nous. Interested to see what he does this year with upgraded weapons and a new coach

Paul Kuharsky
Will Levis was imprecise on a few passes throwing to receivers against no defense early.

Then much better during seven on seven with defenders matched up against his receivers.

Had one terrific touch throw between Adams and Brownlee to NWI as he went out of bounds.

Nothing vertical today. #Titans.

After not a good day yesterday for the offense, Awuze out a couple weeks and more of a drill day- paste-
Brian Callahan is “very pleased” with his #Titans offense and QB Will Levis.

Said Levis is doing a great job of playing on time.

“His hard work over the off-season has really paid off. He’s confident right now and he’s earned that confidence.”

Three "sacks" on one possession.
INT, bad throw could have been INT, INT on next possession.
Willis in and goes 4 for 4.
Levis sent back out, three nice throws lead to deep Pollard TD.

Bad job by Levis and probably Cush. Bad job coaching too.

It can't take that long to fix a prob.
It can't be that the backup recognizes whatever and can come in and thrive but the starter doesn't.

Doesn't matter today but this is the real kind of stuff that needs to be dealt with by a new QB, new line, and new staff. Obvious communication issues will make them look like fools in-season.

Maybe not so minimal is Wilson's D is coming at them and message to the offense to bring their A game.

Nothing really here though; early on; need to pay attention to the speed and efficiency of adjustments as camp goes on

Again!
Safety Matthew Jackson picked off Levis.
Next possession he did it again on same route to different WR.

Some blame on coaching but Levis has to fix this mental hurdle.
Stop touching the hot stove again!

He had an OK day. Writeups I see are the defense did very well. I do see one could say Levis still had an OK day- some nice throws.

Good lineman quote about him riding them today was exactly what I wanted to hear.

Ready to get excited, ready for the hope he brings but stop with the repeat errors

Ok so I see two reporters saying Levis was the second INT Jackson had but the entire rest say it was Rudolph so scratch this

Levis had a wonderful day today.
A lot of short quick passes followed by a few deep shots he completed.
Everyone raving about him today

Levis had a nice mature what ya wanna hear part of his presser where he was discussing the plays are made for top three WRs sure but it's more about what the play callers want to happen then he can go into his progressions and do what fans expect.

I think this probably is also proactive due to human nature and the Titans having a deep WR corps that needs to be fed. Young Levis has to use the out of "I'm doing what the coaches ask" if anyone complains about not getting enough passes. Afaik that has NOT happened but he's kind of setting the table here. Everything has been positive. I solely mean just in case.

Levis was complimented for Online adjustments and he gave credit to Cush.

That's like on cue perfect timing and good job passing the credit to Cush.

This is nothing to most NFL teams but a giant deal for the horrible OL the Titans had. A veteran center and QB restoring order and adjustments and the line winning their blocks.

I mentioned this earlier.
This is only a good start. Now he's gotta keep the relationship building with Cush and keep learning what adjustments work and don't work. It's a nice step for fans to "see" or read about and it needed to happen.

I'm a bit hung up on what could be nothing with Chig at FB and Whyle at TE on the day their OL plays well. Also, the RG and RT were subbed briefly, few hiccups, and then the starters came back. Essentially all that was established today was proper cadence work and proper blocking BUT it very well could have been a pivotal day for the blockers and Levis' comfort.

Another good day for Levis. Had an INT but one is who cares.
Writeups mention him throwing high and throwing to shoulders. Fans point out he's placing passes like Tannehill would so this is probably another development for him

One of my favorite Superflex picks to get as my 3rd QB with the potential of moving into the QB2 spot if he hits. Also has some good rushing upside.
Just threw out an offer for him in a 16 team SF. I have 2 QB, but I agree he’s a perfect 3rd.

In a 12-teamer he’s my QB2, so a bit more pressure, but I’m oddly confident about him there. That said, I have Fields in that league, so if things break right he could be my QB3 there as well.

I've got him in a 12 team dynasty SF with Mayfield and DJones. What could possibly go wrong 😬

Super flex does things to a person… terrible things. :oldunsure:

Sweat's getting better n better and he and Simmons are too much for the right side of the OL. Left three is all battle talk win most lose one...fine. Daddy Callahan is rotating the RG and RT and they're stinking. Charles is out and he's been not only the best RG but the reporters note the whole line looks better when he's in.
Levis struggled with the pressure, they went almost nowhere, and he eventually threw an INT.
Next possession, he did well.

The struggles need to happen and they do not want DC Wilson to lighten up. Levis is overcoming very well and kudos to him. Ds coming after him and OL failing is how most see the season playing out so this is good practice script.

Coach said starters would play a little. No idea what that means but a guess of one series and that phantom injuries will appear soon too. Sooo I'd guess Levis plays a series

Walk thru meant little for us fans today.
There are articles of the coaches "forcing" Levis to work on his short game this summer

Coach was on he and Ridley for their deep game being off, had them watch tape of classic WR QB duos and said all this before practice.
Levis and Ridley were great with two deep completions and looking unstoppable.

Levis is still good for an INT a day which could be literally any reason like learning and developing but I'd like to see that end.

Visiting national reporters this week have been impressed with him. Kind of fluffy pieces but it's still nice to have a QB they brag on having such a big arm. I'm waiting for Sirius guys or Breer or someone to come along that will give a more typical QB review

Bad day but kept his head and didn't make repeat mistakes.
Every QB threw an INT.

Daddy Callahan is apparently not tolerating a bad right side of the line and had Simmons and Sweat alternate left DE and DT challenging their RG and RT. Along the way, the message seems to be no one is going to pity the QBs and they each eventually grasped this and Levis found Whyle and the RBs to overcome.

OL perspective- I can go way back to Casey as far as being upset the light camps don't challenge the OL enough so this is music to my ears. Maybe we need Daddy to part the red sea and make a couple linemen, idk, but it's so darn refreshing to read that the staff totally is attacking the problem. I'm 💯 good with whoever eventually stands out blocking those two. In videos of drills, those two wrecked the right side. I can only imagine what it looked like in 7 on 7 and 11 on 11. Aside from the three C to LT there are twelve linemen in camp and they all stunk against them. Future HOFers or not. I love that there isn't understanding empathy but tough noogies figure it out

Levis did not have a 50 yard tuck n run
Reporters and fans are all over that curious false report

Lot of short throws, one w some distance to Ridley.
No idea if this was what they wanted or was it too risk averse
Sooo this was both good n bad according to coaches. Good that he refused to make a bad decision but they've gotta move the ball too. More learning so imo it's good but I get it.

Titans are going to be so fun this year...

Seahawks joint practice-
Coach was not happy about Ridley being catchless today and mentioned they're not in sync.
Levis otherwise did ok. Seahawks reporters only pretty much saying he looked the part

I didn't notice any INTs in notes on X

Bad day 2 for Levis
"Head coach Brian Callahan was not happy with how his offense looked. It was a missed opportunity for his group and Callahan told the media that he is going to be very honest with Levis and his offense when they go over the tape. " (Phalen)

Two INTs

Starters will not play week two of preseason so Levis has to work in practice to get this off the coach's mind

Levis on the radio after very humble, get to work gotta learn vibe- perfect mindset after bad days
Everyone has been all goofy about his mayo cologne stuff and it's been fun but it's nice to see this mindset so quickly.

I like him. A guy who eats a banana complete, peel and all deserves to be good at football at the professional level.

He's got a cannon, you have to give him that at the very least. I'm rooting for him but he's fantasy irrelevant with how deep QB truly is when you break it down.

Titans OC discussed how he brings plays, charts, thoughts to meetings ready to discuss with Levis. Recently Levis has been bringing some of the same thoughts and he's happy they're clearly on the same page. Took that as a great sign

Levis had a great day. As I said in the other thread, the DC was wound up and a comment that they need a calculator to keep track of the scoring today.
He still threw an INT though

Wyatt has him at-
"Levis has completed 145-of-219 passes with eight interceptions in 7-on-7 and team periods combined in camp."

Titans have presentation videos (coming out each day?) leading up to the season. Levis' talks about first one there last one to leave and usually QB qualities but great to hear too.

He said he's made more progress the last few weeks than any other time in his life.

That's quite the quote-essentially a followup to work put in by him and the teaching of staff and veterans. I think it's important to understand he feels this way- not some reporter saying it- and that probably breeds all sorts of positives later on.

He is super interesting to me, and I have no strong take on how he winds up.

Because you see it all with him. You see heart and toughness, and special throws, and then you see easy misses and crazy bad plays.

That line was a problem last year, and they have to know that his feel for the pass rush was a question coming out, so protecting him has to be a priority. I mean, that's a priority for every young QB, but this one in particular. Ridley was a good pickup for them, I bet
