Agree and wish I saw this coming 2 weeks ago before I traded for him. I figured he'd score like crazy in that offense. Wrong move.

I really don't think it's necessary for you to insult my fantasy team which you imagine, or to question whether I watched the game. I don't do that crap to you.
There are more people on SF to share time with and share the ball with in SF than there were in CAR, McCaffrey's been injured a fair amount, and he's not going to be 1.01 next year.

Mitchell going down opens the potential top RB window for CMC again. I don't see Jordan Mason or Davis-Price getting anywhere near the work Mitchell did. I don't think the issue was ever saving wear and tear on CMC, the issue was Mitchell being really good when healthy, and earning touches.

Issue is, if Seattle drops another one, San Fran isn't getting the 1 but they'll have the inside track on the division. Their season starts in January

My guess is for every 20 touches Cmc gets, RB2 will get 10-14 touches.

Prob no more than he has been, which has been 2-5 carries per game most of the season. I see no reason that changes.

If the oline stays healthy, CMC should do well with Brock, based on how he played today. Better mobility than Jimmy, kept drives alive with good 3rd down play. Not a huge arm, but a good fit for the WCO per draft scouts.

That between that and the Mitchell injury all that talk, that I was in large part driving, about CMC seeing a reduced role from what we are used to can now be thrown out the window. Now if they are blowing someone out I think they rest him but this just all means they have no choice but to ride him and hope he can stay upright.
As for his production I think fine. As he was for Jimmy G he'll be Purdy's easy button and Purdy will need that button more then Jimmy did. Similar for Deebo. Kittle and Aiyuk are the two that are hurt at least a little.

Could easily have had 2 receiving td's but for a good defensive play early on. If he gets it going on the ground too, he's going to have a nice day. Might even toss the occasional td as well. I felt a lot better watching him yesterday, compared to the other games since the bye.
They probably can't afford to play it safe and limit CMC's touches with Purdy starting.

Best draft spot I got this year was 4. He was gone early in every draft despite all the people supposedly avoiding him.

I picked 7 and he went 6. Ended up with Dalvin Cook instead. Trade for Cmac on his bye week, gave Cook and Lamb for Cmac + JSS. First couple of games after the bye, not great but last 2 weeks he's been pretty fantastic. Seattle coming up plus Vegas in week 17. Stay healthy buddy.

I unexpectedly got him at the 4 spot this season. I had no intention of drafting him after having him last season but I did it anyway. He has not been not one of my draft day regrets.

If the Niners hadn't dealt for him, it might have been.
There was a lot of negativity surrounding that trade, but losing Deebo to a high ankle, it's hard to argue that it likely has saved their season. He's been a perfect fit for the Shanny offense.
I mainly play FFPC leagues and probably averaging around 25 non-bestball redraft leagues with them a year and I went almost 4 years without drawing pick 1.1, a timeframe which went just over 100 non-bestball redrafts.
So I could barely get my hands on him the past few years. Had him once last year and it's only because someone took pity on me and split a team with after they knew had pick 1.1. I guess I was lucky in that respect.
I'll never know if I'd been heavy on him the last few years if I'd have bailed but I doubt it because it's against my core belief. A few players are exceptions to the rule but I generally think "injury prone" is a myth most especially in the absence of a major surgery.
So this year the damn broke on me getting pick 1.1 combined with CMC sometimes lasting till 2 and even 3 I ended up drafting him in 7 non-BB leagues which made up right around 25% of my leagues. Now I will say I get nervous owning any player at that cost so often and last time I was in a similar spot being so heavy owning a player that cost that much investment was Barkley the year he tore his ACL so I did finally deviate in one league this year and passed CMC because I was getting to heavy. But in general I'm drafting for upside and I just thought he had more then any player this year and in the absence of having had any major surgeries I just did not get overly concerned about his health and in fact thought the lack of playing time the last 2 years would actually help him.

What happens with CMC going forward? Division is wrapped up, what would San Fran have to gain in the coming weeks by overplaying CMC? Maybe they are interested in the 2-Seed but it doesn't get you out of the 1st round.
But assuming you win the #2 seed, it gets you hosting a game in round 2, and that's still pretty important, especially if seeding holds. You'd much rather host Minnesota than go there.
I doubt CMC sees 32 touches in any game going forward, but I think 25 a week is a reasonable expectation. Something like 18-20 carries and 5-7 catches.
I disagree. It won't matter where they play the Vikings. I think he sees plenty of rest.

aside from the division being wrapped up, he won't be vertical if they continue giving him 20 plus touches every week. I think Mason will get a lot more work than people think the last few games of the year.

I think the reason Cmc got so much work is simple. It was due to the circumstances of the situation - a rookie QB who was injured and making his first road start on a short week, under the lights, in one of the hardest places to play, for the division title, after only having one light walk thru practice all week...I mean, Purdy didnt throw a single pass all week after the Bucs game until he threw a few in the ballroom at the hotel before the game...that's a lot to put on a rookie QB.
With all that, and the fact that they didn't even know if Brock was gonna play until Thursday, the game plan was gonna be Cmc heavy, especially since there was a possibility that Josh Johnson was gonna start. The fact that Purdy played didnt change the plan.
So, with the division title on the line, I think Kyle decided that this is why they traded for Cmac, let's get our moneys worth this week and not ask the QB to do much, let our defense do their thing and go home with a win and division title, and then we can get some much needed rest.
So while Cmc will be the focal point going forward, I don't think we will see such a heavy dose of him as we did against Seattle, at least not until the playoffs.

I expect about 15-18 touches each week moving forward. It’s likely he doesn’t see any touches in the 4th quarter of any games rest of the regular season.

#49ers HC Kyle Shanahan makes clear they will pursue best seeding possible: "Our goal is to get into the tournament and we accomplished that today but now it’s all trying to set that up to be the best situation we can and hopefully get some of our guys back too in the process."

Thanks for posting this but I don't read or hear anything that makes me feel they are pushing the gas down the stretch.
NFC South-4 seed, Vikes and Niners are working it out for 2nd and 3rd seed
Vikes have 1 less loss but the reality is both teams will open at home Week 1 unless something strange were to happen to Philly the final 4 weeks.

I'm not picking on you because you obviously accounted for strangeness, but something strange did happen to Philly in the form of Hurts's shoulder. They're playing Dallas and then have two more. The division isn't clinched yet, and I don't expect it will be until Week 17 at best.
