Makes no sense to rush him back against a JJ-less Vikings team that has exactly zero home wins this season.

They just lost to the Watson-less Browns on the road as well. Every game important.Makes no sense to rush him back against a JJ-less Vikings team that has exactly zero home wins this season.
The Cleveland defense is elite. I wouldn't be worried about MIN without JJ, the offense had only 12 1st downs and 1 TD last week @ CHI.They just lost to the Watson-less Browns on the road as well. Every game important.Makes no sense to rush him back against a JJ-less Vikings team that has exactly zero home wins this season.
Cleveland defense is miles ahead of MN, and this game is indoors. SF is favored by 10.5 with CMCs stays in flux. They just lost to the Watson-less Browns on the road as well. My favorite league I've ever been in is an 8-man league with 13 player rosters. So much more fun and challenging than larger leagues in my opinion. There are no crappy teams (unless owners just pay zero attention) and you aren't screwed by 1-2 injuries.Never done or even thought about silly 6 man leagues. Guys at work wanted to try fantasy football for the first time so I agreed. The good thing about 6 man leagues is that with McCaffrey questionable I just put in Jacobs or Walker III. Early impressions are that 6 man leagues are way less stressful. Bwahahaha

See I found leagues like this to be completely boring as it's all just a hope and a prayer that your stud hits his ceiling compared to the other guys stud. Lineups are just coin flips because everyone on every team is a starter. I saw it as kind of a waste of time.My favorite league I've ever been in is an 8-man league with 13 player rosters. That's what I'm finding, but in the scheme of life it's just healthier. I spend 4 minutes a week on roster. Maybe 4 minutes. I haven't had to make any roster moves. Ceedee Lamb, Keenan Allen, Josh Jacobs, Ken Walker III, Alvin kamara and Jonathan Taylor haven't made my starting lineup. It's silly. I go to work and guys are like, "you beat me by 100 points." It's only been 6 weeks and I've outscored the 2nd place team by nearly 200 points. 200 points. It's silly. So to get back on track on this thread. I don't need McCaffrey this week so just get healthy buddy. Yep. It's a why bother type of thing.

I have seen a lot this year where fines have no correlation to penalties called/uncalled on the field.Tashaun Gipson, who was flagged for a controversial unnecessary roughness penalty against the Browns, was not fined by the NFL this week.
Easily the biggest question of the day. Monday night makes this way tougher.
Please let's crowdsource and share what folks are hearing (with links) and thoughts.
And huge bonus if you can include where among RBs you rank him this week.
Christian McCaffrey suffered an oblique/rib injury in Sunday's game and left briefly in the third quarter, returned for one 6-yard run late in the same quarter, then exited again and did not return. Before he went to the locker room (after his second exit) McCaffrey could be seen performing stretches on the sideline. It was unclear when exactly he was injured and the 49ers were uncertain initially whether it was an oblique muscle injury, a rib injury or both.
The obliques -- diagonally-oriented muscles that attach to the ribs and pelvis -- are responsible for both rotation and flexing the trunk as well as core power and stability. Because of their rib attachments, it can sometimes be difficult initially to determine whether the injury is muscular (oblique strain) or some form of a bony or cartilage injury to the ribs themselves.
After McCaffrey underwent an MRI Monday, the 49ers sounded more optimistic about his potential to return for next Monday night's game, calling his status day-to-day. Expect the Niners -- and McCaffrey -- to allow him up to game time to make the decision on his availability.
I have no option to swap in if he doesn't go so I'm benching him this week.
Exactly. I tried all week to trade for other players in the Monday night game but all I got was rejections and over priced counters, so I'll just roll with a lesser option rather than risk a zero.I have no option to swap in if he doesn't go so I'm benching him this week.
Ability (or lack of it) to pivot is a big part of it too.
So you are predicting that Mitchell gets 0%?Easily the biggest question of the day. Monday night makes this way tougher.

Only have Stephania Bell's perspective if it hasn't been posted yet:

My guess is he's 80% healthy and will play, but get a 60/40 split with Mason and finish around RB 12-14 for the week.
They probably give him a chance to get going, but I think Mason outplays him again. So you are predicting that Mitchell gets 0%?Easily the biggest question of the day. Monday night makes this way tougher.

Honestly I'd just sit him a game.Rapoport pretty casual with it this morning.
"Questionable so he has a shot"
This is one of the main reasons I'm leaning towards playing him even though in all but 1 league I own him, I don't have any other options. But IF he plays, he's gonna want (and will likely get) that TD IMO.As a non-CMac owner with no dog in this hunt, there is one thing I believe for sure. He is ripe to keep that TD streak alive, if at all possible.
I have the choice of playing Barkley at Flex or playing McCaffrey and falling back on Hockenson if CMC doesn't play. I am putting CMC in my lineup! This is one of the main reasons I'm leaning towards playing him even though in all but 1 league I own him, I don't have any other options. All signs point to 49ers’ RB Christian McCaffrey playing Monday night at Minnesota, despite the fact that he is listed as questionable due to an oblique injury, per sources. McCaffrey returned to practice in a limited way Saturday and said after that he feels “great.”
This is where I am right now. I have CMC in the lineup with Mitchell in my back pocket. I worry that CMC plays but is rather limited in use, especially since I do not expect MIN to make much of a game of this. The first fork in the decision tree is whether or not you have a viable pivot option on Monday night. If you have another player to pivot to, I would plan on starting McCaffrey and making the change Monday night if you need to.
Makes sense to me Joe and I appreciate you sharing your perspective about what you are doing with this situation. I dont think subscribers can ask for anything more than that and good on you for not being wishy washy about it, which would be the easier and safer thing to do rather than sticking your neck out and making a call. Which is what I think is more helpful for folks on the fence about this than just shrugging ones shoulders about it.Where I am this morning:

Lots of McCaffrey GMs though do not have a pivot option. If that's you, it really boils down to how aggressive you're feeling. If you need just a few points and want to avoid a zero if he scratches, you may want to leave McCaffrey on your bench.
But for most people, me included, you're playing more aggressively and McCaffrey just has too much upside to leave on the bench. Maybe it shouldn't, but draft capital also matters and there's something super painful about benching your high-performing first-round pick if you think he might play.
In my personal league, I'm playing him over guys like Rachaad White, Zack Moss and Jaylen Warren. All players that are in the low end RB range.

Personally thinking long term I think it would be in CMCs best interest to not play 70% of the snaps and risking aggrivation of the injury or possible cascade injury. But like most of these NFL players they have a warriors mentality and put their bodies at risk every time they play anyways, so if they can play they want to play. Its really on the coaches and medical staffs to protect these players from themselves in situations like this. However looking at the history of Shanahan and how he has played his RB in the past, and all the injuries they have sustained, he doesnt seem like a coach to take a more cautious approach either. He will run Deebo Samuel out there if everyone else is injured (whether Deebo is healthy or not as well) so I think that also points towards him playing, and playing a lot.
If CMC does end up getting further injured due to this recklessness (imo) you may as well get what you can out of him in this game and hope that does not happen early if it happens at all. Maybe he ends up being fine and performs well.
Best solution I've some up with is picking up Jennings at WR and stuffing Cmac in your flex. With Deebo out, if Cmac doesn't go Jennings should at least post a score
