RB Christian McCaffrey, SF (6 Viewers)

So back for week 10? Get around 15 touches. Then back to healthy size workload by week 13 or so with a 3 TD game...just in time to really rub it in the face of teams who he sunk!
My CMC teams are 8-1 and 6-3, by all means ease him back in then unleash him come December.
Well goody gumdrops for you!
I would like to see the entire roster of these CMC teams in order to make a better determination.

John Lynch on Christian McCaffrey’s availability for Sunday against the Buccaneers:

“I sure hope so. Christian’s passed every part of the test in our plan. Over the bye week, he stayed here with our trainers. How do you come to work on the bye week? You come when you’ve got guys like him working out and you want to see it. I sat up in my office and watched from afar. He looks great. He’s responded well.

I will say that him doing IR work off to the side with our strength coaches and trainers is different than actually getting on the field. There’s that reactive element to it. And so, now we’ve got to put him through that test, responding to a safety coming up and taking one side of leverage away, and he’s got to make a cut, those types of things. And can he respond in a good way? Can he feel healthy enough? Can he feel like he can go make an impact and handle the volume that we’ve put on him? If so, we won’t hesitate to play him. I think we’ve been real thoughtful. I’m proud of our health and performance team, proud of Christian, the way they’ve attacked this rehab. It’s been a long time. It’s been tough, when you have a player of that caliber, to not have him. I think it’s provided opportunities for other players to show what they can do. But there’s no doubt about it, you miss a Christian McCaffrey —your entire team, not just your offense —when he’s not on the field.”

I don't believe a word this dude says about this topic

If you go like this in a redraft: CMC / Nico Collins / Davante Adams / Rashee Rice / Joe Mixon / Chris Godwin...You are under .500 and have spent almost all your FAAB

Thanks, very educational.

One of my CMC teams started CMC/Pacheco/Etienne in the first three rounds. Needless to say, at this point, I'm not sure it matters if he comes back or not.

My only CMC redraft team went into the weekend at 5-3 and right in the playoff mix. Knew this was a huge week. Felt like if I could get to 6-3 and get him back I'd storm my way into the playoffs.

Went London and Olave at the 2/3 turn. Needless to say got smoked this week and I'm as good as dead (national contest, 12 week regular season)

My only dynasty team with CMC started the year with 3 of the consensus top 5-6 players and 4 of the top 10 with Lamb, Breece and Garrett Wilson joining CMC. I've made the final 4 all 9 years this leagues has existed, which is a matter of great pride to me, and assumed I'd coast to a top two seed this year. Entered the week in 8th place and this is why even on teams that look great in dynasty I always hate giving up future #1's, though I hope I'm still in the championship race when all is said and done and not the Ashton Jeanty bowl.

I could have sworn there were some posters in here who were adamant that he would not return this season. Anyone ready to eat crow on this?

Think they were saying he will get re-injured because of the heavy usage throughout his career. It remains to be seen if he can hold up. Achilles injuries are always tricky and not an exact science.
Yep. This is exactly what we were all saying. (y)

So what is a quality “buy low, but not insulting” offer for CMC? He is 28 yo and has significant injury risk concerns.
If he truly is a “difference maker” I can afford to keep him away from other contenders

Shot off a round- Brian Robinson & Jordan Addison + 3rd for CMC & Adonai Mitchell
He is 2-7 but lost both CMC & Pacheco

That hard thing is, why would you deal him at 2-7... he's your inside straight to move the needle

Maybe that was a deal to offer at 2-4

Thanks. I get your point.
I am 6-3 and looking good.
He is 2-7 and definitely looking to getting younger. He has Cook, Achane, & Bijan.
He needs WR help. D Adam’s, Dev Smith & Waddle (start1-3 RB& 2-5 WR)

Too lazy to look, but I definitely was/am in the camp of "definitely out for 2 months, possibly the year, and a good chance of re-injury if he's back before playoffs." Thought that the moment I heard them say Achilles tendonitis. I'll eat a baby crow if he produces at 90% of his past seasons for the next 5-6 games. Or 4-5 even. I still think that it's probable that he either has a vintage game and then reaggravates/tears it, or is on a serious snap count for the remainder of the year and a diminished role next season.

I would be just waiting to pounce on the first offer of a "buy low" price of ~75% what he was getting pre-tendonitis with no regrets.

Keeper is certainly something different, I missed the 3rd in the first one. You're in the ballpark I guess but not sure if I'd make that deal, he still has one more theoretically viable year of CMC next year and may get pachecho back for the playoffs. What about a 2nd rounder next year with Brian Robinson?

First extended look at Christian McCaffrey back at 49ers practice

Looks damn good
This isn't flag football. Everyone looks good in shorts lol.

Can his body hold up (no flare ups) after he's taking hits is the question.
or when he's got to juke/twist out of a situation.
Ok...Ok whatever then...jeebus lol

Just bet my entire re-draft season on CMC (Chase Brown + Puka 4 cmc)

Here we go.....
I gotta question what you are thinking here. CMC ain’t gonna give you that kind of return coming off a long term injury. Heck, they will likely ease him in and still spell him with Mason/others so they don’t overwork him. And this SF team isn’t lighting up the scoreboard like previous seasons; Purdy is now a known commodity. Brown is on the rise on a team that has to put up big points to win games, and Burrow is playing as well as he ever has which opens up running lanes. Puka is banged up, but a target machine the minute he steps on the field. And I haven’t even mentioned the most likely scenario—CMC misses more time.

Good luck though! It wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong if CMC goes nuts for the second half of the season. I just don’t see it happening.

Ehh--- I play FF for fun & my 10 year old remembered CMC leading us to the title last year so he wanted to run it back.

The trade was a little bigger

I gave: Kyler, Chase Brown, Puka, DJ Moore
I got: Burrow, CMC, Charbonnett

These is a 12 team league with a million trades and we have a really strong team. Somehow we were having to decide between 5 WRs for 4 spots each each (3WR/1Flex: Jefferson, Lamb, Nabors, Gwilson, Puka) So it actually makes the lineup decision a little easier.

How do you have a 12 teamer redraft team with Jefferson, Lamb, Puka, Wilson, Nabors, and Moore? That's three first round picks, an early 2nd, and two 3rds.

I have made probably 8 different trades. I doubt anyone really wants me to get into it in this thread.

1. You couldn’t make a trade bad enough that your season is at risk with that roster
2. Is this a money league?
3. If the answer above is yes, can you save me a spot for next year?

Seriously, I would be down reading about it if you don’t mind taking the time to share how you assembled the best FF team ever

Coach Yac
Kyle Shanahan on how he envisions Christian McCaffrey, Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo in games:

“We’ll see how it goes with Christian. You don’t just sit there and split everything up just to do it. You keep the people out there that gives you the best chance to win on each play, and Christian is just a little bit different because he does so much extra besides running the ball. He’s such an elite player when it comes to running routes and things like that.”

Code for he's gonna run CMC into the ground tomorrow

My guess is he will play but it’s going to be the next few days after the game is when we see the effects. Lots of DNP during the week. Saving him for Sunday’s. He will grind it out the rest of the year. If you have him, you play him.
These tendonitis/tendonosis issues are always pain after the activities.

Even as a Mason owner in a couple of leagues, I'm wishing CMC luck and health going forward. I think he helps all the skill players more than Mason does.
