RB Kendre Miller, NO (4 Viewers)

Good. Cut him. Let Dallas pick him up. If Kendre is just hurt and was hurt last year and it’s not symptomatic, then others can profit. I wonder about Allen. I also wonder about Kendre. Dennis Allen has earned no benefit of the doubt as a competent head coach, and Kendre has earned no benefit of the doubt as a player.

Let the rams collide. We know the coach wins almost all the time, but the question centers around whether or not the coach is correct.

Dennis Allen is 24-46 for a winning percentage of .343. He is 16-18 with NO. In that weak division.

Pathetic.

Is he worth stashing on IR?
Trying to decide. The best stashes are those who come off IR and straight into a productive role. He has time, the coach, Williams and Kamara to deal with when he returns. In redraft he feels like a roster clogger to me.

The question is how long are you waiting for??

Well, he's on IR for the first 4 weeks now, so he probably either gets in game shape over that time and we get a glimpse of him the 2nd half of the season or he can't get right and they keep him on IR all year.

I paid an early 2025 2nd and 3rd for him in a short bench league. With this news I overpaid. I am now hoping week 5 he is a monster....not holding my breath. The coach seems to hate him.

Got cut in my dynasty and went for less than 50% of FAAB.
I wish he would get cut in my dynasty leagues. Cheap wait and see IMO.

The question is how long are you waiting for??
More than one season. Hell, he was drafted in 2023. Might as well only play in redraft leagues with that mentality.

I own him and have no intention of dropping him but was curious to see what you thought was wait and see...if he's out 12 weeks this year does he stay on your bench? He's shown no ability to stay healthy which usually doesn't work out well

This is why i asked the question...how long do you actually hold him? If he can't get right this year do you keep him into year 3??

I’m not quite shoveling dirt on his grave or anything yet but he’s going to my IR slots in dynasty and is officially in flier status now. Hopefully Allen will be gone next year so Kendre is out of the doghouse. No telling what a new staff would think but its got to be better than having your current coach badmouthing you in pressers

For reference, my 2023 Draft looks like a Michael Myers movie sequel ..
1.07 = Jordan Addison Min WR
2.02 = Kendre Miller NOS RB
2.03 = Michael Mayer LV TE

Now, I am in no rush to drop/cut/ move any of them currently, as this is a long game of value and not a "What Have You Done for Me Lately" ( or as an Instant gratification like many in society today)
Miller is currently sitting on my IR not taking a roster space and I can wait on his return. However, I am already getting some low ball offers for him (like 2026 late 4th or Alec Pierce or Zay Jones).

Kinda depends on the cost to acquire and opportunity cost to hold, but I really liked what I saw on the field last year. I think he could be a very valuable guy even as a 3rd down/CoP type guy if the offense is high powered (which the Saints don't really look to be rn). So he'd have to hit the field and really struggle for me to jump ship. He checks alot of boxes for me.

Saints offense is borderline garbage at this point and they will move on from Carr and get even worse. Not going to be a lot of fantasy points over the next couple of years

I'm holding too but he is taking up valuable bench space in dynasty. If he doesn't show anything this year going to be hard to hold much longer

It's been 1 year, man. I get the frustration seeing guys you passed on him for in opponent's starting lineups, but geeze.

I'll just say add.

I'm extremely big on Miller, already said I used 5 first round picks on him. I play in mainly 1.5 TE PPR leagues and took him consistently over every TE but Kincaid, and would have taken him over Flowers.

But for next season, and this is tricky to get an accurate handle on because of void years/bonus prorations but by my analysis they are paying Jamaal $4.5m for 2023 and Kamara around $13m. With that kind of financial commitment to those two RB's I'm extremely doubtful that Kendre will have a useful fantasy role next season so long as both are healthy, active and members of the team and I don't see anyone trading for either of them.

I pretty much gave my opinion regarding a dynasty asset drafted last year. Especially one drafted fairly high in dynasty leagues. To cut bait and run now seems premature to me.

  • Williams was one of the least effective runners in the league last year. Among 49 RBs with 90+ carries last year, he ranked:
    • 48th in yards per carry
    • 49th in rush yards over expected per attempt
    • 48th in yards after contact per attempt
    • 48th in PFF elusive rating
    • 49th in PFF rushing grade

It's about to 1.5 years...
Tomato To-mato. It's been one year and 4 moths since he was drafted.

Wonder if NOS will make an effort to get Mia cut RB Chris Brooks? As J Williams replacement / support
That would be a good hold over if he has cleared his concussion issue
Better between the tackle runner than receiver from what I saw

Miami has him on IR for the year unless they reach an injury settlement.

Thanks. I guess I thought he was released (injury settlement) and was a FA

That was the original news but he reverted to IR.

Under most situations I could see Chris Brooks being a popular FA acquisition for teams like Dallas, New Orleans or even Baltimore. He offers low investment insurance who could be valuable if it gets crowded in the Medical Tent or Ice Bath from RB injuries

Packers signed him to the PS.

Anyone have any hope for this guy when he gets off of IR with the way the saint offense is churning so far? He’s sitting on my keeper league waiver wire and I’m pondering making a move for him

It's painful right now, but I'm holding fairly tightly in a 24x12 dynasty that has absolutely nothing going at the RB position sans CMC. Want to add Vidal, Vaki, Ali, and Miles Sanders off of waivers. I'm unable to part with the likes of K. Miller, K. Herbert, D. Pierce, McLaughlin, who are all providing absolutely nothing in terms of current production. Miller is the one I probably value more than any of them.

That's not to say I have any optimism that it's going to happen this year. Based on how the Saints are going, it's probably not the worst IR stash of all-time, but he's probably two injuries away from getting out of jail and landing any role that could matter.

He seemed to pass the eye test at the end of last season. Does the Dennis Allen hate extend beyond his inability to stay on the field? I don't believe so. In that case, I think he's a decent buy-low. One more injury setback before doing anything on the field will probably be my cue to move on with the roster spot.

Question on this IR topic: does NO have to bring him back after 4-wks or is that a minimum he must sit? Can he stay on IR indefinitely until NO activates him?

Must sit through week 4 at minimum. There might be a 5-week window after that to designate him to return, but I might be mistaken on that part. I think that's the point where he's eligible to practice, and the Saints would then have no more than 3 weeks to add him to the 53 once he's cleared to practice.

I want to see him out on the field for week 5 in any capacity. I'm concerned that the hamstring won't be ready based on finding zero updates whatsoever. I'm also concerned that based on Allen's statements, the Saints will slow-play any return date if the current backfield stays healthy. Probably the right play if he's anything less than 100%.

He looked so good in college but man...
I've contemplated cutting him in dynasty but held on. Can't really sell him for anything right now. Fingers crossed he looks good when he comes back.
Same boat. Same temptation with a 24x12, but too much talent not to give him another shot. He got run in the week 18 game and performed pretty well.

Hoping that all of the perceived hate from Allen is more about motivational tactics than actual hate, but we'll see. Somehow, I'm expecting them to use every last bit of his 21-day activation window. Just hoping he can stay healthy and establish himself as the real backup in waiting, even though I fully expect Jamaal to out-touch him when he does get back on the field.

He's going to have to have one wow moment (or game) before I hold him through the next injury.

Pretty sure Kamara isn't gonna withstand 400 touches this season. He's already banged up and Jamaal Williams isn't the solution, considering upside.
