Does anyone have peacock here? What are the shows/movies I need to watch before I get rid of it?

Really liked Poker Face and The Traitors (reality show).
SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night was great (if you like SNL).

The 'standards': Community, Parks and Rec, Yellowstone, The Office

And if you like the US version of the Traitors, they also have seasons from the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Jackal, Resident Alien. Girls 5Eva, We Are Ladyparts.

Nothing is must-see, imo. But those are worth a watch.

I just went through my JustWatch history, here are some movies I watched that are currently on Peacock:
  • Zombie movies: Day of the Dead 08 (sucks), Open Grave, Day of the Dead 85 (also sucks), Rampant, Infection (turd), The Night Eats the World, Cockneys vs. Zombies (I really like this silly movie),
  • Horror movies: Dog Soldiers, Invitation, Audition, Harpoon, Deathgasm, Pulse (I got spooked and didn't finish), Ginger Snaps, Monsters, Memory: The Origins of Alien (documentary)
  • Time loops/travel: Endless, Triangle, Source Code, The Final Countdown (stinks), Synchronic, Coherence (not really but fits here)
  • Others: Turbo Kid, Lucy, Sunshine Cleaning, Warrior, Villainess (just watch the first 10 minutes until the rooftop scene then bail), A War, Kill Bill 1&2, Highlander, The Road, In Bruges, Apocalypto, Northman, Zero Dark Thirty, Den of Thieves, Hurt Locker, Lego Movie, Hanna, Big Lebowski
ETA: I get confused by all the Romero movies - I had two versions of Day of the Dead on there and hate both of them.

In Bruges, was such a letdown for me

I think I had watched Cockneys vs. Zombies, it's a sub 6 rated movie on IMDB and I made a whole thread for bad movies/shows we like

Somebody had to work very hard to screw up the casting and the script changes this badly. It hurt my heart. I was so looking forward to this, but gave up on it in disgust very early on. I get that it's going to be different than the books, but I feel like they betrayed the characters, the themes, and the actual story arc.

I am on book thirteen for the third go around. Want no part of that show after trying it. But it's probably easier for non book peeps as always.
You're a better man than I, I ran out of gas around book 5. Will finish someday but not today
My biggest issue in the first couple of eps was actually the casting. It just felt all wrong.
I get that, I didn't feel that way other than S1 Matt but you've invested a significant portion of your life in the books so I'd expect it from somebody that knows them that well.

Well of course, you would, you're the dragon reborn.

Anyhow, for the detractors I totally understand. The first season really disappointed me and season 2 didn't help a lot but I've come to realize that if you just watch the show without regard to the books, it's a lot more enjoyable. It's a tough disconnect, especially for someone like @PIK95 but once you do, the show is not bad. They hit most of the major plot lines with a fair amount of poetic license but I don't know how you make a 15 book series into something watchable that isn't a 1,000 hours long.

I watched the first 3 episodes of S3 this weekend and I'd say arguably, the best 3 shows of the series so far.

So about Sam Rockwell’s appearance in this week’s White Lotus episode 😂😂
Who hasn't wanted to be a Thai woman?
I did not know that Rockwell has been with Leslie Bibb (the Republican of the three toxic friends) for 18 years. So hey, a free trip to Thailand where you can hang out with your partner and shoot a scene where you say … that. And maybe get a guest actor Emmy nomination out of it.

I also loved the “oh, and by the way, here’s that gun I procured for you.”

All caught up on White Lotus.
All three seasons and every episode of this show is so brilliantly written and perfectly cast. I'm trying to think of something comparable that has the drama, romance, violence and honest relationship portrayal. No character is overdone. It's all so understated yet never dull. Each episode ends leaving you with great anticipation but somehow manages to not make me obsess wanting the next episode immediately. One week really gives me time to digest each episode. I love it!

Watched The Trap on netflix last week. Its an M. Night. thriller, so I figured it would be decent. The premise is unique (hunting a serial killer at a music venue). The movie kept me engaged, but the suspension of disbelief was just too much for anyone. It basically gets non-sensical the whole second half of the movie. Go in with low expectations and you'll still be moderately disappointed.

Finally got around to starting Shaq on HBO Max. Decent watch but I really love sports docs. Shaq was my era and the dude was just absolutely amazing. I remember going to a Blazer game early and standing within 5 ft of Shaq. My goodness this guy doesn't seem real I thought. Looking back you really forgot just how quick and athletic he wàs. Top 10 all time NBA great.

Anyone catch 'Paradise'? Think it might be on Hulu but it's on Disney over here

Finished this last weekend. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it. Too many flashbacks. it seemed like 70% of the story was told through flashbacks. I thought that was annoying.

Not sure if I will watch season 2 or not. I read about the premise for the new season and ... wasn't thrilled.

Long Bright River on Peacock is pretty good. Has the unfortunate characteristic where the main character keeps doing stupid things, but its an interesting story. kind of a mystery/thriller.

Adolescence on Netflix is outstanding and a must watch. Brilliantly shot and acted. A must watch for all, but especially parents.

Best limited series since Chernobyl imo.
That's quite an endorsement - I'll put it in the queue.
We just wrapped it up.

Technically incredible. And yeah, the acting is outstanding.

I'd love to see outtakes of sonebody messing up their lines in minute 45 of those takes...

man severance is slow going i need to stop trying to watch it after 7 pm the first two episodes have just knocked me out when does it pick up take that to the bank brochachos
Not until the end of the season. It's a slow burn, but I believe it's more than worth it. Juxtapose next to Ted Lasso though is going to make it seem extra slow.
ok you were totally right it got better take that to the bank brohan

Finished Night Agent, S2. Meh.
We made it two eps of night agent season 2. Awful. One of the worst seasons ever. We liked season one fwiw.
Yeah I think S1 was oodles better than S2. FWIW I heard (perhaps even in this here thread) that S3 got canceled.

I think I said this in an earlier post, but it got up to the mediocre level by the end of the season but that's hardly a ringing endorsement.
Agreed...

Some fun stuff on Peacock:

Laid - comedy about a woman whose sexual partners are dying.
Paul T Goldman - meta comedy in a Nathan Fielder kind of way
Mr Throwback - comedy with Stephen Curry
Hysteria - horror show that doesn't take itself too seriously.

FWIW I heard (perhaps even in this here thread) that S3 got canceled.
I see nothing that indicates S3 of Night Agent to be cancelled. What I see is that it will likely be dropping in early 2026.
Maybe he was thinking of The Recruit? Similar type of show, two seasons and was recently canceled.
Maybe - I know The Recruit was mentioned when I was looking for shows in that genre, and I coulda sworn they said Night Agent got the axe.

Recruit was cancelled.

Night Agent Season 3 went into production last year - that may be the last season, but as far as I can tell there will still be Season 3
