135.8 + (Parker -19.6)
I don't understand this Player - existing score. Shouldn't it be Max(Parker,19.6)? I mean... if Parker scores 10 pts, you're not getting -9.6 :)
Is it really that complicated to figure out?
Whoa, nearly two hours with no sign of him. I can just about picture him hunched over a table, pencil and paper in hand, pencil worn down to about an inch long from scribbling away to work out the solution, a pile of wadded up paper behind him. I almost felt sorry for him and started to post the solution.....Almost.... ;) :D

Wow, my WRs realy pooped the bed this week with Cinci on bye and donte S. not playing. :sadbanana:I'm at 97.1 with a bit of action in MNF:Heap, better than 7.3Mason, better than 3.0Elam, better than 7Baltimore D, better than 13I very well may get booted this week.
I am perilously close as well. 97.6.Need either/both of Javon Walker and Derrick Mason to do better than 4.4 and 5.7 respectively. If either have a big night that will really help. If both go off, Im in. If neither do...

RB -- C Taylor (20.4), M Barber (13.8)

WR -- G Jennings (21.5), Key Johnson (17.7), T Holt (13.0)

TE -- Witten (9.1)

PK -- Kaeding (11.0)

DT -- Jacksonville (14.0)

Not Scoring

QB -- Delhomme, Griese

RB -- Morency, Rudi Johnson, Duckett

WR -- Roy Williams, Wilford, Matt Jones, Chris Henry

TE -- Mili

PK -- Bryant

DT -- Washington

Guess I'm safe for another week

I really don't see the cutoff being above 120... 115 even.

WEEK... NFL PPG.... CUTOFF

1............. 34.6 ........ none

2............. 36.8 ........ 123.7

3............. 48.6 ........ 125.3

4............. 54.2 ........ 106.8

5............. 47.7 ....... ???

Week 4 had the highest amount of scoring so far on this young season, but players who aren't even apart of the competition are making a mark.

Especially the WRs

Berrian (on 49 rosters), Colston, Baskett, G.Lewis, M. Floyd, Furrey

Add in Noah Herron to the black hole of points from the RB position, and Huard / Gradkowski now at QB.

All told, maybe 110?

This bolded part above is what has me thinking we could be at or lower than the 106 cutoff from last week. Lots of points came outside this competition, or were otherwise pretty evenly distributed among lots of players.

Here's a comparison between last week and this week

WK 4 Cutoff - 106.8

Player Scoring:

PTS .... WK4.... WK5

QB

>25 .... 3 ...... 1

>19 .... 8 ...... 8

RB

>25 .... 1 ...... 0

>19 .... 4 ...... 9

WR

>25 .... 4 ...... 0

>19 .... 11 ..... 7

TE

>15 .... 1 ...... 0

>10 .... 11 ..... 7

PK

>15 .... 2 ...... 1

>10 .... 6 ...... 8

DEF

>20 .... 0 ...... 2

>15 .... 5 ...... 8

Compared to Week 4, Week 5 has fewer "breakout" performances across the board (save for DEF/ST). Looking at these numbers, a few more RBs had good games, but WRs and TEs saw a drop. So I expect a very similar cutoff to last week.

110 +/- 3 pts

At 120.6 + Reed + Pittsburgh.I don't think the cut will be any higher than last week and may even be lower. It was a low scoring week and most of the players who did go high were not owned by a lot of teams. The only players left who could significantly affect the line (ones owned by more than 10% of owners) are Parker (40%), Rivers (17%), Miller (13%), and Sheffler (14%).
apologies if it's already in this thread - but is there a link where you can see the % ownership of players?thanks.
page 28, halfway down.

Some highly owned WRs probably hurt alot of people.

Troy Williamson 42.2% = 3.1

T.J. Houshmandzadeh 34.4% = 0 (bye)

Braylon Edwards 31.8% = 5.7

Doug Gabriel 28.4% = 2.7

Michael Clayton 27.6% = 1.7

Roy Williams 23.1% = 1.7

Antonio Bryant 23.6% = 5.7

Nate Burleson 19.3 = 0 (bye)

Also 4 out of the top 8 owned QBs scored 0 for the week due to various reasons. (Palmer, Warner, Culpepper, and Simms)

Me too, I've got 4 of 'em.121.3 with my fingers crossed.

103 with Stover left to play...hoping I can get a few field goals and sneak into next week where Manning is on a bye and I am in big big trouble with Simms behind him...ouch!

127 + Plummer - 6.5

Dont know if thats good enough, but if it is, Ill be amazed I survived this week.

Didnt think Losman and Plummer and the Cowboys would be enough.

$1 gem Ronald Curry makes his first contribution of the year to my point total. Now only 2 RBs and 1 WR have yet to chip in for me.

I think I'm ok this week 135 + ... next week will be a killer though with only 1TE, 1K & 1D to score ... plus the usual peril of other starters sitting and the pool size shrinking ... could be toast ... but good to go till then.

:coffee:

I'm at 122.35 and probably finished (Plummer -18.25). My WR's really hurt me this week having to use Glenn and Horn, while FWP's points went to waste because I had Fred Taylor and Gore.

I'm not saying I can't figure out - I'm saying it's wrong to write it that way, and I don't understand why everyone does. I think if you write it that way, it should be scored that way :) :)

I'm sitting at 115.7, so I'm on the bubble.....next week is when I need help if I squeak through.

Rivers is my only QB next week

Steven Jackson, LenDale White, Cedric Houston at RB :X

Glenn, Booker, Roddy White and Samie Parker at WR

Ben Troupe

Wilkins and Mare

Seattle and NYG defenses

Basicallly, I need Rivers to light it up again, Jackson to go crazy and Troupe to get some attention.

Think my season is ending sooner rather than later....oh well!

It seems to make sense to most people. You have to take the 19.6 points into account somehow because those points don't count if Parker produces more. Everyone understands it is conditional on Parker scoring more than 19.6. I suppose to be technically correct they could go through the process of saying my score is:the greater of 135.8 or 135.8+Parker-19.6.But I think most of us understand how the scoring works.

 I own all of the above. :(

Quick calculation gives me 101.4 and done. Unless MNF is a 3-0 yawner, I don't have much hope. Peyton should spend less time doing commercials and more time passing.

Probably done for @ 104.0 - just as I get Bryant Johnson to finally produce! If I can survive this week without Rudi and Palmer, Delhomme by only QB, and Muhammed going into the tank, I think I will bo OK - I will have Rudi and FWP every week here on out ( at least without injury) How many fantasy forces are really left?: Mcnair, Plummer, Bell, Lewis, Heap, Clayton, Rod Smith, Walker, Stover, Elam and Balt D -

I wonder what percentage of teams the above mentioned are on?

Let's see if I can get eliminated despite McNabb lighting it up. If I make the cut it will be thanks to #5 for the 2nd straight week.

You forgot D. Mason

my rough calc has me at ~ 95.0. With C-Pep out and Palmer on bye, Losman picked a good week to suck eggs, not to mention Williamson, Chambers, Bruce, Horn and Edwards all crapped out in the same week. Oh well, good luck fellas. :bye:

J.P. Losman 7.6

Reggie Bush 19.6

Willie Parker 17.3

Lee Evans 24.4

Anquan Boldin 17.2

Travis Taylor 14.4

L.J. Smith 8.3

Jay Feely 13

Dallas Cowboys 13

134.8 - looks like I survived the Palmer/Rudi/Norwood bye week without Simms.
