My 22 man roster just made the top 20 for the first time all season! Woot!

Team #100130 - 205.35pts.

I still don't believe I have a legit shot at winning the grand prize, because the winner is going to need to probably average somewhere in the 210+ range and this is the first time all season my team has scored over 200 points. But right now being in the top 20 is enough to get me pretty excited!

Maybe one more cut down to 125 and then a 2 week playoff?Unlike last year when only 20 people at best had a shot after the first playoff week, things look wide open. Probably 2/3's of the top 20 have huge holes in their rosters.

Sounds like a good reason to keep it the way it is. If you've survived 13 cuts, you deserve to have a shot. The 3 week playoffs at least gives a prayer of making up ground from an injury or poor performance.

Anyone in the bottom 125 has next to ZERO shot.

Maybe trim to 125 in week 14 and pay everyone remaining $25.Trim to 50 in week 15 and pay everyone remaining another $25.For the 50 remaining, add their week 16 score to their week 14 and 15 score to determine the order of the 50 finalists and then pay out top ten.This would keep interest up the contest with a cut each week. I don't think you would impact the concept of a week 14-16 cummulative total for the grand prize winners since anyone not surviving the cut wouldn't have a shot at winning anyway. The Gore/Finely owners hanging on for dear life would have something to follow after making the final 250.

Oh, interest in this thread/discussion, I see what you mean now.Well, only a small percentage of the 13,000 entries have been posting in this thread from Week 1. When the entries get cut down to 250 you have to figure that most of regular posters have been cut. And there are probably a lot of subscribers who never even read the forum.

To be honest, I usually set my lineup in August and then review the week before the deadline. I didn't even start following the thread until page 46 or so... but it's hard for posters to start following if there is already 96 pages of history. Because I started posted at around 46.. now I pay attention just because I know what's going on....

... and of course I am looking for those nuggets for next year.

My score was similar, 202.10 With having to count Rogers 3.8 as my QB. I have no idea what I was thinking, having Derek Anderson as my only backup qb.

You were probably thinking that you wouldn't have posted 200+ points if you spent excess dollars at QB. As I recall, the two QB approach has won this the last two years.

This is always the best strategy.....your goal is to spend the least amount of $$$ at the QB and get your 25 point average. You need to spend your money on depth at RB-WR-TE. My 108202 projects for it's usual 170 ish. I'm probably headed towards a $25 payout finishing around #80-120 but it's cool to have gotten this far when my Roeths/Stafford/Vick QB choice had me on the verge of an early exit when all 3 were hurt at once around week 5.

I think it has to be for week 15 ONLY. Otherwise there would be many more teams with a chance of finishing #1. As it stands there are only about 10 teams listed with a chance to finish #1 in this sim. I expect Doug will hit us up with a week 16 sim in a couple days.BTW, major props to Drinen for doing this. For those of us still in the running, I can't tell you how excited I get everytime the turk posts another sim update in this thread.
