Subscriber Playoff Contest is LIVE (1 Viewer)

Overestimated the cutoff, although not as much as in years past. 13 man BAL/SEA SB roster would have a good shot of winning, but may only get scoring from 4 players in week 3, and BAL/SEA don't really put up the numbers necessary to give me a good shot of advancing to SB. Oh well, my third year doing this, and slowly improving on past mistakes.

Joe Flacco $21 25.75
Justin Forsett $12 4.80
Steve Smith $13 15.10

Still baffles me that the majority of the staff lineups have 0 chance of winning this thing with how they set it up.... You'd think that at the very least the staff members would know how this contest works... right??
The staff has their own contest against themselves. Given that they only have to beat a few staffers compared to a few thousand subscribers, they use a little different strategy.
Ahh, that makes sense.

:pickle: I think the gT nerally low scoring gamea with a minimal number of nuclear performances (i.e some guy going off for 40 points by himself) helped keep the cut line lower than usual. Lost 2 guys (J Bell, Fells) and still kickong myself for not going Whittaker/Dickson instead of Fells but overall feel pretty good as Flacco/T Smith are my non-SB guys.

Just made the cutoff, but lost one of my non-SB players. DAL needs to beat GB and Murray and Williams need to be studs the next 2 weeks for me to have any shot.

That's a really strong lineup. You nailed it perfectly in round one. If NE/Sea make it, you should be in the money.

If I had known the cutoff would be so low, I would have structured my roster far differently.

I basically have a Seattle vs NE super bowl team, but I think I hedged my bets a bit too much in other areas, and that there will be other NE/SEA teams with more players out there.
That's precisely the problem most people will have.

The rest of us get the teams wrong.

But someone will get lucky

What I got going on next week:

Flacco and T Smith

Gray and Amendola

Turbin and Willson

Best 2 of Manning, Anderson, Hillman, Julius Thomas

Best 2 of Rodgers, Lacy, Starks, Cobb, Adams, Other Rodgers, Crosby, GB Def

(2013 was last year)

2013 Cut: 125.45

2012 Cut: 186.85

2011 Cut: 180.75

2010 Cut: 119.20

2009 Cut: 117.70

Will be interesting :)

Hopefully I'm toward the top of the list of GB/Den stocked teams :)

Part of the reasoning for the higher prices I bet is to lessen the chance of pure "lock-out" scenarios from occurring. For example even if my 12 GB/Den is the most and that ends up being the match-up I won't have things locked up probably because out there will be something that has guys like D Thomas, Sanders, and Jordy Nelson who I don't have. For  purposes a good wrinkle.

I'm out. I still liked my strategy, with 10 combined Pats/Seahawks, but I didn't get enough from Dez or Jeremy Hill to advance (also had Witten and Benjamin this week).

Oh well, it was still fun.

I also have 10 Pats/Seahawks. I cleared the cut by 10 points this week with my 5 players (lost 3 of them). It's going to be tough again this week with only 8 players trying to make the cut.

Same. Have 11 Seattle/New England players. Cleared, but lost PIT/DET players I has hoped to get two weeks out of. Going to need the 9 guys I have this week to be enough.

Will be tough to make it with a limited amount of players the next 2 weeks. You do have high scorers, but only 4 will count

A lot riding on Hillman/Thompson and Richardson/Turbin for me this week. Probably will need 30 pts here to advance. Got sucker in on the Sanu/Hill value. Should have made room for Herron/Bryant to assure I had 10 going this week.

Yah I thought Brown was a shoe-in for next week as well. Figures 20+ from him and 4 others would be enough. Im pretty sure I'm done since Pit lost

I think the higher prices took away more backups and hedges, like a lower level D or K. Can't spend $10 on that. At least IMO. Seems like they were closer to $6-8 in the past.

See Gronk at $30 was crazy too high for me. You'd be better off taking Wright at $8, adding Gray maybe, and then some other $6-8 guys that are going this coming weekend.

Waiting for next year. :kicksrock:

I saw PK and Defense as two positions to take just on the team I picked as champion (for this contest). Originally I did both of my Super Bowl kickers but decided to shoot for the same team.

Until Gronk goes for 10/150/3 and the others do squat.

Ugg going with D-Will was the killer I needed to have gone with any other $5 or less player who scored like 6 pts. oh well.

Barely made it past week 1, and no QB's in the SB matchup, but who knows..

True. Just seemed like a bad risk to take for me. I think in normal pricing he would have been $24-$25 and next guys would be $20, $19, $18. But at $10 more....

Actually I think this was a great configuration except for one thing. Hill/Gio grossly underperformed. The only the I would have done differently was find a way to change Bryant to Romo so you get the points regardless who scores. Any chance you missed the 6 pt QB TDs? That would have been a lower risk way to try to stay above the cut line.

Good posting - though as a Bengals fan and seeing the bang up receiver corps (and on the other side the banged up line) this one seemed like an under waiting to happen. But it's such a crap shoot - I mean basically I got through by the grace of Ryan Lindley's one target of Daniel Fells. Sometimes you have the right approach and things just don't work out.

Went with a Cowboys vs NE SB and I feel reasonably confident saying I'll stay alive every week both of those teams play but will have no shot to do anything if one loses before the SB and not sure even if they both make it I'll have enough.

Assuming "my" teams win

8 going this week, 14 next, 8 then 10 in the bowl.

Guess I need to route for people who have me covered to not make the cut.
Looking good, only lost my two Steelers.

In hindsight, I should have dropped two players and added two Colts or Rodgers.

Got 14 players counting this week, and 8 next if NE can win. Still need help eliminating any other Ind/GB entries probably. It mist suck to pick the SB teams and be covered :(

Just looked at the Winner from last year.

Week 19 cut 125.45

Winner scored 126.25

Week 20 cut 102.20

Winner scored 103.75

Week 21 scored 167.00
That's pretty much what I expected. Scrape by on minimal/high-scoring players and have 10-12 in the title game.

I went with 5 for the WC round and scored 3 above the cut line. I have 8 going this weekend, between 4-8 next week and 10 if the right Super Bowl matchup.happens.

I don't think I've seen an IND/SEA matchup posted yet. I haven't lost any players and would have potentially 10 in the SB. Might not have enough firepower without Herron and a SEA WR; probably covered by another entry. Here's mine.

johnnyrock really needed Carolina or Dallas to lose last weekend.

If he's going to win he needs entry 999999 to go down this weekend.
