“We woulda won if not for this injury” say Niners and Lions fans
I can't speak for Niners fans but most if not all Lions fans said that we would have had a great chance to win without the injuries. So for comparison if you lost Carter, Sweat, DeJean (comparable to Hutch, McNeill, Davis), plus a few rotational guys and backups, would you have won?

2017, except we lost the guys on offense, not defense.
Do you recall who besides Wentz and how many? I don't have any idea and I'm interested to hear.. All I know is the Lions had 17 players on IR, just from the defense alone. I understand next man up and all that but there's always a point where it's too much to overcome and we hit that point last year.

Eagles had 12 guys on IR. But losing Wentz really has no comparable. He was the league MVP right up until he tore his knee up. If I said to you, we'll give you all your defensive players back but you can't play Jared Goff in the playoffs. Do you think the Lions would have won the Super Bowl with Teddy Bridgewater or Hendon Hooker at QB?
If we had our defense healthy, which was top 5 before the injuries, then yes with Bridgewater, unlikely with Hooker.

Interesting, the SF 49ers had the #1 defense in the league in 2022 and losing their starting QB made it impossible for them to win a game. My opinion, the Lions defense would have had to have been to be appreciably better than that Niners defense to carry Bridgewater, a guy who spent the year retired, through the playoffs.
The Niners other QBs were garbage.

So is Teddy Bridgewater.

So is Foles

For sure. Thats the point. So are the Lions backup QBs, no?

I'm sure you didn't click on the link but

Losing your future HOF LT in his prime, a starting MLB, the "for certain" MVP QB, along with a bunch of other players throughout the year.

Its all obviously hindsight 20/20 but if anyone were to rank 2017 Foles, 2022 QB backups for the Niners against Hendon Hooker, etc, I'd love to see the tiers.

And the funny thing, just like post 2022, there is some "new rule" bc ya know, Niners were forced to play CMC at QB and that was not FUN

Fast forward post 2024 now we got "My team had more wins than the team that smoked us but if it would have been at home..."

The Eagles just present rules that make sense like an alternate to the onside kick. And the difference is, the rule isn't being presented out of any form of sour grapes/if only THIS wasn't THIS way, we'd be Champs! kinda ill logic

Winning the Super Bowl couldn't have anything to do with it.
It certainly helps sure, but the Eagles team thread every year is by far the most pages regardless of the final game. I guess it’s just the sustained level of success for such a long period.
I'd have to agree with @Cowboysfan8 that you seem to take even the most mildest and slightest criticism of the Eagles and end up going nuclear and then just call everyone a "hater" and call their arguments "disingenuous".

I'd also have to concur that I think you're overestimating the amount of Eagles interest simply because they're the Eagles. When you win the SuperBowl, usually you're in the news and discussion.

Of course, when you're the most insufferable, despised and worst fanbase in all of pro sports that will get discussion going to.
It's simply hilarious when rival fans whine about being called 'haters or trolls'. All you have to do is look at your list of recent posts, you aren't even an Eagles fan and it's literally the only threads you ever post in. Very very sad.

Artificially inflated numbers due to Cowboysfan8 coming in to, "just talk football".
Nail on the head here. It's pure obsession and almost never has anything to do with actual football.
Ok so we got a main reason outside Eagles fans, the Howard Stern effect.

People tune in bc THEY HATE HIM
I remember seeing a stat that people who hated Stern were tuned into his show for more than twice as long as people who liked him.

That kind of thing makes ESPN's programming decisions make more sense.

Wait...posting in a thread makes someone a hater now? Is there a maximum number of times someone can post in a thread w/out being considered a troll or a hater? What is that limit that you've set? Do you need a special invite to enter a thread? Need specific qualifications? Where should I send my resume?

You Eagles homers seem a bit thin-skinned.

BladeRunner, your routine is getting old. Maybe it’s time to let it go and move on. Honestly, I’d be surprised if you could resist posting in an Eagles thread for a whole week. But if you managed it, I think a lot of people would appreciate the breather.
This. Click the profile and scroll through the last few months of postings, every single one of them is about Philly and is so clearly trolling. Have never seen a poster so obsessed with hunting down every Philly game thread/post and commenting such nonsense on it. Not even CBF8 is that bad. And that is saying a LOT. (queue the 'Eagles fans are so ______' posts from both of them)

He's an admitted contrarian. He'd rather post more about his rivals and banning his rivals' plays at a 5-10x clip than he does his own team, and I mean, can't blame him. I enjoy it. He's seen a lot of great Cowboys football, then he watched the last 30 years. I'm a fan.

Dallas Cowboys have been in a free fall ever since Jerry Jones pride was hurt by Jimmy Johnson who clearly was the reason they were so dominant. Jerry nowadays looks like a character from tales from the crypt. Dallas is so irrelevant. There's some similarities with the Steelers who've been irrelevant for over 8 years.

Dak and Kurt Cousins are masters at extorting exorbitant salaries with not much to show of it.

If they are masters at it, Deshaun Watson is the God at it.

Its all relative, but Sam Bradford is my guy in this convo. Some of these guys at least had some level of success in their careers.

105 career touchdowns
$130M career earnings

You serious, Parker? This doesn't seem very FBG to silence dissent. This, IMO, indicates that you are very well aware that the tush-push is problematic and illegal, you just don't want to admit it. I mean, if you're so confident it's not then why are you asking the mods to ban people from threads that you disagree with?

I think you guys are extremely thin-skinned about your team to the point that you don't want to accept any criticism of them. Maybe just start a thread called "Eagles Blind Loyalty Posts Only"?

it really only takes a few posters to make multiple page threads.....not really sure that page numbers actually mean ****.....it isn't necessarily the determining factor on most "popular" team on a website.....do you like get a cookie or participation trophy for being most popular...?.....I didn't know a designation like that even existed....are we in high school again...?...maybe it's so cool Joe should give Eagles fans their own forum where they can create a circle...but the mere creation of a thread like this aimed at pounding the chest of your team speaks volumes by itself....need for attention, validation, hey look at me....so it's no wonder those might have the most "pages"....Eagles have a good team with some compelling storylines and characters, coach, tush push etc....but the need for a thread like this probably plays a role and answers the question you posted in the thread title....

Isn’t the need of validation / likes / followers the crux of the issue with social media and the mental health of a lot of people?

The Eagles won the Super Bowl less than 60 days ago. LOL. I've never seen so many people trying to like tell a fanbase that they are sad, thin skinned, whiny etc, so soon after such a historic championship run. I think its pretty cool how you have become a psuedo Eagles fan. Don't stop being you bro. You are the first Cowboys fan I've ever met to fully commit to quit on his team like this. Its pretty interesting, my brother was about to swap to being a Ravens fan, and since you're not from Texas but from Maryland, maybe you'd consider switching soon. I've never seen in real life Cowboys fans break away like this before. It really brings me joy.

This is one of those "I don't care so much, WATCH THIS" posts.

I was just asking a qustion and you took that as validation. We are now redefining what the word "popular" means in an effort to tell Eagles fans their team certainly isn't popular after winning the Super Bowl.

Doing God's Work here, keep it up!

The funny part is, he's actually a Packers fan :lmao:

it really only takes a few posters to make multiple page threads.....not really sure that page numbers actually mean ****.....it isn't necessarily the determining factor on most "popular" team on a website.....do you like get a cookie or participation trophy for being most popular...?.....I didn't know a designation like that even existed....are we in high school again...?...maybe it's so cool Joe should give Eagles fans their own forum where they can create a circle...but the mere creation of a thread like this aimed at pounding the chest of your team speaks volumes by itself....need for attention, validation, hey look at me....so it's no wonder those might have the most "pages"....Eagles have a good team with some compelling storylines and characters, coach, tush push etc....but the need for a thread like this probably plays a role and answers the question you posted in the thread title....
This is one of those "I don't care so much, WATCH THIS" posts.

I was just asking a qustion and you took that as validation. We are now redefining what the word "popular" means in an effort to tell Eagles fans their team certainly isn't popular after winning the Super Bowl.

Doing God's Work here, keep it up!
just asking a question....lol....this thread was the equivalent of saying .....hey tell me why I am so cool....and then you double down by saying if you need some help here are the reasons I think I am so cool....and then you list off a bunch of meaningless tidbits.....and then sit back and hope people keep pimping you....never ever seen a fanbase feel the need to be self proclaimed and validated as "most popular" on a website.....which is why I say I think you have answered your own question.....but then again, here I am posting and feeding into the sadness.... :lmao:

is there an official set of criteria for most popular somewhere here on the site that lists how this "most popular" designation is achieved.....I'd like to share it with my team and fanbase so we know where to step our game up....we would like to be in the running next year....

It’s all right here in black and white. You don’t even have to search for it, just click a thread about the eagles. One of the resident eagles fans will be whining about something on any random page you select. It’s almost sad ☹️

I'll be honest, this is the coolest I've ever felt, so I'll let you label me cool guys while most others ya know, also label me as a a typical tough Philly guy (I'm from Baltimore but ya know)

Its a message board. I'm having fun. I see you are too. I don't take this as seriously as you probably hope or think I do.

Not really. The Eagles thread IS the most popular team thread, and has been for quite a while now. It also has more regular posters in it then any other team thread. Part of it is certainly the success the team has enjoyed, as threads for the Patriots and Steelers have also been much more visited/used when those teams were strong. But look at the KC thread for a fair comparison...nowhere near the number of posts NOR the number of actual KC fans posting.

That said, just because the thread has more Eagles fans posting in it doesn't mean that it's the most popular team, just that it has the most active fans posting. For all we know the Bengals could have the most actual FBGs as fans (unlikely but you get my point). It's a silly discussion though, because what does it really mean in the end? NOt much TBH.

to the rest of your post....your spot on and that's the point......it means nothing but Eagles fans feel the need to pound their chest and say look at me and please everyone agree scream from the mountain tops how cool we are so we fell better about ourselves....very sad

is there an official set of criteria for most popular somewhere here on the site that lists how this "most popular" designation is achieved.
I'm assuming you could pretty easily use the metric of most topics about said team, or most pages in the team thread. Although Cowboys fans probably account for half the posts in the Eagles thread.

100 pages in 2019 when we won only 4 games seems to show that. I don't think it's a chest puffing thing, I don't think it's any sort of accolade to have the most popular team on here at all, but I'd say they're discussed more than any other team here, which is neither a good or bad thing.

And your report was the reason he was in here
Lmao noone’s buying that

Have a wonderful day posting about me and not football while complaining about me not posting about football
