Three Teams in the Running for Boldin? (1 Viewer)

The National Football Post's Aaron Wilson reports the Patriots are the front-runners to land Anquan Boldin.

ESPN's Adam Schefter calls the Ravens the favorites with the Chiefs also in the mix. These teams know a good value when they see one. At the cost of a third-rounder, Boldin is a no-brainer. His next team has him under contract cheaply for the 2010 season with a year to work out a contract. If no deal can be reached, the cost was still just a third-rounder for one season of a possible difference-maker. Mar. 5 - 3:54 pm et

If the Pats traded for Boldin and Olsen, I shudder to think what they could do by the end of the year with Moss, Boldin, Welker, Edelman, and Olsen going out all on the same play.

It would be interesting to see Moss with a bad back, Boldin with his ankle issues, Welker with a re-built knee and Edelman with an arm in a cast; the all MASH unit.

I thought Balt was out of the running on this. Didn't want to pay for the 29 YO Boldin and are looking more at Walter instead...

(KFFL) Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun, reports the New England Patriots are no longer candidates to acquire Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin, according to the NFL Network.

Per Adam Schefter (via Twitter):

Done deal: Arizona trades WR Anquan Boldin and a 2010 fifth-round pick to Baltimore for Ravens 2010 third- and fourth-round picks.

The Pats apparently were only in on this if Boldin played this year for the $3M left on his contract. Not sure the logic in that, as Boldin was not enamored having to play for that amount in Arizona.
