Herbert is a biospecimen.

One of the best young QB in football.

And all of the FF ecosystem seemingly forgot about that over the course of 1 down year & a good HC hire.

but as we all know, there is a difference between a good fantasy QB and a good Actual QB.

Herbert was a good fantasy QB but given the way the team gutted the offense and went to a run first mentality, Herbert has changed his focus. He doesnt need to throw for 5000 yards for the team to be successful.

bad for fantasy, but good for the team.

back when I played, my coach always told me an INT is worth 40 pass yards (sometimes more) and I believe it. if that INT is an incomplete pass instead and forces you to punt on the next play. the other team gets the ball 30-40 yards back. but in the situations where you do not punt on the next play, there are yards on the latter downs that are now forfeit so technically that could be more than 40. and if you are in scoring position it costs points too. - and momentum.

the fact he was down to only 2 INT going into this week is super impressive. sure the yards are down, but the net yards is up if you factor in the loss of the INT's he has historically thrown.

with additional weapons he will eventually get his yardage up and Harbaugh will open up the play book some more. I figured it would be 2 years until herbert is again on the fantasy map for standard leagues. but hes still a solid hold for super flex keeper leagues. Very good player.

Me too in Superflex. I started Nix. Both him and Herbert scored a little over 23 in my scoring system with Herbert slightly edging out nix.

I was worried to start two guys Thursday night, so now I get to see what Stafford will do Sunday.

Just would have been nice to have them both with pretty solid starts headed into the weekend with my mediocre QB room.

Herbert is 10-12 in prime time games in his career. He has 11 4th quarter comebacks and 15 game winning drives in 78 career games.

Considering that 4 of the 5 years of his career were under head coaches Anthony Lynn and Brandon Staley, I think his record in these areas is fine, and I fully expect it will improve going forward.

I agree he is a great prospect, but IMO you are overstating his rushing performance. He has averaged 2.5 rushing fppg in 78 career games, and that is almost exactly what he has averaged this season (2.48 fppg). He has 2 rushinig TDs this season and hasn't had more than 3 in a season since 2020. Sure, he is talented enough to get 10 rushing fantasy points in a game, but he has only done that 2 times in 78 games.

agreed. they need another good playmaker in that offense. I'd say the O line could likely use one more piece. but if not drafting for a tackle, that could be a 2nd or 3rd round pick. so the WR could be taken in round 1 or 2, a defensive player also in round 1 or 2. and a guard/center in round 3.

he has the skillset to do this, but honestly I think hes good enough that his arm is more dangerous than his legs most times. and the fact he uses his feet less, makes him all the more dangerous when he does as he surprises the defense.

he can play that game. But hes fully suited to being a Top quality drop back passer. The ability to run is a nice bonus when plays break down, but like Aaron Rodgers in his prime, the running is usually to see if he can open something up to make a throw. not often is it to actually run the ball. for this reason I dont see him getting much more than 200 or 300 yards rushing in a season. Hes capable of more, but I just dont think its in his game to do more.

agreed. team looks to be a lot more disciplined than I've seen them. and it looks like they have tightened up on the execution of plays as well. but i was expecting this with Harbaugh. I think the team is better for it, even if they are less exciting to watch.
