**Trick or Treat - TNF on Prime - Texans at Jets** (-1.5, 42.5) 8:15 (1 Viewer)

Thinking about driving a half hour+ one way to go get a New Haven-Style pizza
Either Fantini's in North Stuart or Ah-Beetz down in WPB, they're opening one in PBG soon, will be a lot closer
Portnoy has been to both of them, both are very good and much better than most of the local pizza around here

It seems unrelated I admit however it's Halloween and on the surface this game doesn't have a lot of weight. Means a lot more to the Texans IMHO, the Jets show no backbone
At the same time the Texans have a lot of injuries and I am not playing CJS in FF this week, had to finally roster a QB2, in this case it's Cousins vs Dallas, likely won't end well for me

-Mrs wants me to take her out for Halloween and I'm trying to make an at-home party tonight, really don't want to leave the house. Not because of TNF, just like to party at home
I was just curious if anyone was making anything good tonight or expecting the little ones in the neighborhood
We can't remember the last time someone knocked on our door on Halloween for candy, we also live around a lot of retirees here in Florida

Planning a fun bike ride tonight around sunset before the game starts, will see more decorations and monsters a few blocks over
 
can’t stomach to waste my time with the jest. how are they favored? the line scares me into thinking the jets might win. no way do we want that anymore this year.

The 2-6 teams are 4-0 straight up
3-1 ats.
Classic trap game for The Texans,tough divisional game last week,Lions next week.
Add to that no Diggs or Collins
All indicators point to a home team victory.
Scary scary situation for The Visitors.
Although "The Visitors" sounds like a great horror flick.
As much as I'd like to see Aaron wallowing further down The Rabbit Hole
It's hard to ignore the analytics

I'm facing Mixon this week so you are probably a little too low on him
 
As a Bills fan I have to root for the Jets this week. A Texans loss helps the Bills in the playoff race, and a Jets win makes it tougher for them at draft time.
 
How many more times this season do the 2-6 Jets play on national tv?

Same as last year I guess, they had a ton of prime time in 2023.

ETA

Ah....this year it's a team record six times. Tonight is the third prime time in 17 days, last one of the year is SNF v Colts Week 11.

Plus the 4:25 game Week 10 vs ARI. So 5 out of 6 weeks, but hopefully no more thereafter.

Trick or Treat all the way tonight

-Moving CJStroud who I dearly love but I'm moving him back tonight even in leagues where I have a short bench, found room for one of numerous options on the waiver wire
Kirk cousins is pretty all over the map but he has a nice match up at home vs Dallas this week and that's just one of several that seems like a better place to look than TNF road game -Jets

-Devante Adams - What do you want to hear? Have you made peace with darkness? The Ministry of Pain has but not sure that helps tonight
I hate the Jets are favored but Vegas is on to something
You throw in a true Halloween Night and wouldn't it be a horror show if the Jets win and get folks on their train again?
You would hope the Texans are good enough to overcome Diggs and Collins vs a 2-6 Jets team but this team is still growing and maturing, this could be one of those nights
I hate picking the Jets but...

Stroud does everything in his powers to win the game but they blow a late FG from 53 yds out Wide Left and DeMeco Ryans joins Man Campbell swearing he will never rely on FGs again

-What is the beer of choice tonight? I raided a spot and got Spaten Oktoberfest, Weihenstaphaner Festbier (delicious!) and Left Hand "Marzan Lager-Oktfest) also really good
-We are doing popcorn the old fashion way on the stove top

And yes I did pick up a New Haven pizza earlier, had about half of that already, yum yum

Can Metchie III or Hutchinson or someone else make a strong appearance tonight?
Schultz is a total sleeper, he really hasn't had a strong start all season
That said, tonight would be his best chance so far this season

Staying in and watching the game. I had 2 years of no trick or treaters at all, then last year, the neighbors brought their daughter over for the only one. There had been that solar eclipse the weekend before, and I'd taken my solar eclipse glasses over when I saw them outside so their daughter could safely look at it. Figured that was probably what sparked the visit as I don't think they went around the rest of the neighborhood.

Yep. Houston has very good special teams, Jets have one of the worst
 
Allen Lazard

Officially placed on IR​

The Jets have placed Lazard (chest) on IR, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Advice: As a result, the soonest Lazard can return to action is Sunday, Dec. 8 against the Dolphins. While Lazard is sidelined, Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams and Mike Williams will continue to lead the Jets' wideout corps, with Xavier Gipson, Irvin Charles and Malachi Corley in reserve.

Dameon Pierce (groin) leads inactives for Texans​

Texans declared RB Dameon Pierce, LB Azeez Al-Shaair, S Jimmie Ward, CB Myles Bryant and C/G Jarrett Patterson inactive for Week 9 against the Jets.
Advice: Pierce was ruled out earlier in the week because of his groin injury. The Texans will also be missing Ward due to a groin issue, Patterson with a concussion and Al-Shaair out due to a shoulder injury.
 
The Jets ruled out six total players on their final injury report for Week 9, although two of those players have since been placed on the injured reserve. Wide receiver Allen Lazard (chest) and defensive tackle Leki Fotu (knee) are no longer on the 53-man roster and will thus not be listed as inactive.

The team has also ruled out safety Tony Adams (hamstring), safety Ashtyn Davis (concussion), linebacker C.J. Mosley (neck), and right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle) for this game. They will all be inactive for tonight's game.

Cornerback Kendall Sheffield and rookie safety Jarius Monroe have been elevated from the practice squad for Week 9 as well. Sheffield and Monroe will provide extra secondary depth to a Jets team without their top three safeties.

Tight end Kenny Yeboah has also been activated from the 53-man roster and will make his season debut tonight. Yeboah replaces veteran Anthony Firkser, who was released, as the team's third tight end.
