Trouble getting pregnant? (1 Viewer)

Look at our clinics data. 66% success rate from thawed icsi and we are 0-3.

When you went in for your initial consult and analysis of each of you, where were the "problems"? You? Wife? Both?

My swimmers were weak and all over the place and my wife had some issues with her tubes (suspect they occurred during the C-Section of our first child, but not sure). She had no issues with her "environment" though. Ours appeared to be a problem of introducing sperm and egg.

I had some jacked up swimmers but that's why they did the ICSI process. So, no issues with the embryos. My wife just doesn't develop lining very well apparently.

Confirmed negative today though. Thankfully we got the call over the lunch hour so I could talk to my wife for a little bit. Yesterday sucked but I'm glad we did the EPT at home and sort of grieved yesterday.

Thanks. I guess I have been subconsciously thinking that emphasizing the number of attempts somehow statistically benefits our chances so I've been mentioning it's attempt #4 in every conversation and consultation. The gf has notified me that if she hears me say "attempt #4" one more time she will punch me in the nuts. I think it's the stress talking but I'm not risking it.

So we got the call that we have 4 good embryos and transfer is scheduled for Sunday. #FourthTimeTheCharmSilently

My wife still has a gallon ziploc of about 30 of the tests that became Scrappygang. Each one labelled with the date. She kept doing it way after we had a positive beta. And she'd come to me every time one was slightly less purple.

"I don't think they're really quantitative tests," I'd say. "I mean those are both pretty purple."

But the crazy was strong in her. In fairness, we almost always had positive home tests even in our failed cycles.

LOL actually no. When the Dr. called us back prior to my contribution he said "Ok Tricia" which is not her name "and Norville . . . " and we're like "Wait . . . it's Tanya and Norville" and he looks at all the pile of papers on his desk and goes "Oh here we go" and grabs another batch of papers "Yes Tanya and Norville, huh two Norvilles today. That's rare." and then proceeded to call her Tricia throughout our conversation while we corrected him every time.

So we go back out to the waiting room there's a black couple waiting there (I was going to say "Hey Norville" but resisted) and we walk out and she goes "I think we might have a black baby." and I'm "God I hope so they were good looking"

Query: Do you read the instruction manuals/directions for ANYTHING you put together? Right....no need to start with your kids I got annoyed with the first book I got and never picked up a second. My kids are only a little off. You'll figure it out.

This is the only piece of advice that has really been useful to me in my early days of being a dad. "shush", "swaddle", "side/stomach", "swing", "sucking". It worked like a drug. Instantly calms a screaming baby down. Now if I could just figure out how to get my 15 month old from being so damn clingy to me (to the point where he refuses to go to mom if I am in the room).

Ahhh damn I missed the footnote. I would always hold him upside down from his legs and shake him vigorously side-to-side. No wonder it would just cause him to cry more. My technique was wrong.

Talk to other parents first...those books and the interwebs will just make you doubt yourself; too many time tables and "this shoud be happening by now" type charts, you're natural instinct will be better than what you might read in a book.

Holy crap that would be awesome.

It gets old (especially when you want a break but your baby won't stand for it). My wife loves it because she can just lay on the couch while I have to read books to him and play with him the entire evening. In all seriousness, I wouldn't trade it for the world. It will be the best experience of your life.

It won't....until you're sitting up (the fourth or fifth night in a row) with a baby who just doesn't want to go to sleep. At that point you'll be questioning MOST of the decisions you've made in your life. It's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my wife goes in for the fourth and final transfer today. Unfortunately I had a big court hearing this morning and, with her blessing (oddly enough she's trying to be as laid back about the process as possible so we didn't make a big thing of it this time*), didn't go. Transfer scheduled for 3:00. She's almost to Vegas with her mom. Should be finding out any moment whether the embryo thawed.

I'm literally shaking right now. Just dreading the embryo not thawing properly.
