US Men's National Team (30 Viewers)

bizarre stuff in ET of this game...

both GKs have been sent off. Giroud in goal. ball off the crossbar... dogs and cats sleeping together. etc.
Why would the ref stop the game to give the Genoa keeper a red? Milan had Leao and Pulisic 2 on 1 with no keeper. That's a terrible error of judgement.

great angle of the possible handball on Pulisic

Given that the sleeve is considered offside when deciding the lines... I call it a good goal. I swear I'm not biased. :lmao:
It looks like it hits him in the exact spot where the shoulder meets the arm. I don't know what the letter of the law is in that case but it seems far from clear enough to over turn so I am also happy it was a good goal.

Bradley@FootyBradley

Pulisic goal.
Musah assist.
Balogoal.
McKennie midfield.
Weah start.
Reyna return.
Tessman and Busio goals.
Reynolds assist and MOTM.
Scally screamer.
Trusty start.
Jedi goal. 👀😂
Booth, CCV, and Figueroa back from injury.
What a day.

Also worth mentioning that Musah/Pulisic late combo puts Milan at the top of the table as does Balogun's contribution for Monaco.

Pulisic offered to go in goal

Can't CP dunk? Id want him in there. And funny... I thought I noticed him lobbying for it

There was a video of him dunking once but I was unsure it was a full 10 foot basket. He has some hops though.

I was reading there is a chance the Milan keeper could be suspended for two league games.

If so it is incredibly bad timing as the next two league games are Juventus and Napoli.

Watching the replay, the Milan forward on the ball had a player on him and was facing away from goal when the whistle was blown, that would have allowed enough time imo for Genoa to get players back and wasn't an obvious goal scoring opportunity. Ref needs to be extremely sure Milan will score to say that there's a greater advantage than sending the Genoa keeper off - it was actually news to me that they can actually play advantage and delay a sending off at all

Imo, advantage absolutely should have been played. If when play is stopped, yellow/red to the gk

Gaga is living a rough life on loan at Eupen. Today, Antwerp had 27 shots, 12 SOG, and 9 Big Chances. Slonina made 9 saves and they still lost 1-4. But not a bad day for our man as Antwerp had an xG of 5.67.

Yeah I guess I figured this shouldn't be any different than a yellow card. Can't they let the advantage play out and then give out the red card at the next stoppage?

That is absolutely what should happen else you are actually helping the team that committed the foul. Advantage should always be played and then award the card if needed afterward. There is nothing in the rules that says play has to stop immediately for any sort of card.

The U23 (Olympic roster) side was also going to play this window but we haven't had an announcement of players. I had assumed we cancelled the idea but Tanner Tessmann commented that he is heading to the US to play for his national team and since he wasn't called to the Senior squad, I assume that must be the U23s.

Was there a roster released and I missed it? Wiki shows nothing.

Nevermind, I should google harder

from what I have read the roster has been a nightmare to put together. Euro teams are balking at releasing players and any MLS teams near or in the playoffs do not want to release either.

Tillman opens the scoring. 1-0 in second half
I watched almost all of the 1st half, and while he was very involved playing as a 10, he was weak imo. Touch was noticeably poor, decision making poor... felt like he killed a bunch of promising balls in good attacking spots (granted, he did a good job getting to those spots). So it's good to hear he got a goal here.

Dest otoh... he looks like he's having fun out there.. just a killer. The guy he combined well with- Lang- unfortunately came out hurt int he 1st and was replaced by Chucky. Was curious to see how that relationship would work.

For that are not aware of Kumungo's story, he grew up in a refugee camp and moved to the States at 14. At that point he'd never really played or at least not organized ball. He signed with FCD after an open trial. A year later and he's become a regular for them and is just dynamic.

Btw... after watching Chelsea and now Juve because of US players... what a joy to watch a flowing, fun attacking team in PSV.

Not actually sure that would be a good thing. He's certainly not getting playing time ahead of Theo Hernandez on the left side, so he'd need to play on the right (which is obviously just fine)...and I'm not sure how tough the competition is there. He might just be bench depth if he goes to Milan.
Dest couldn't find any minutes at RB last year, so I have trouble seeing Scally being much different. Then again, with Pulisic and Musah playing so well, maybe Pioli will be more open to starting other Americans now?
