Week 02 2022 who should I start thread **OFFICIALLY UNOFFICIAL** (1 Viewer)

So you have Phillips / Crowder > Stevenson?
Probably

Philips>Crowder>Stevenson but with this tier of player, flip a coin.
Thomas > alla them?
Probably but it's a real tight situation. I mean I don't like Stevenson but I also wouldn't be surprised to see him put up 80 yards and 2 TDs while Logan goes 3-31-0

But, yes I probably roll with Thomas.
Thank you sir or madame. I shall await news in the morning with baited breath.

RB2...

Chase Edmonds on the road @Baltimore
Damien Harris on the road @Pittsburgh
Jeff Wilson home vs Seattle
Khalil Herbert...not ready to roll him out yet but I feel it building

I have hope for Harris this week but understand why I might be alone. Wilson is an easy plug n play this week, Chase would be interesting but tough to start him vs the Ravens although Carter produced 100 yds last week for the Jets. Miami is down a RT and also has a gimpy LT at the moment.
you proved your own point about Chase Edmonds. dude got elite level playing time last week , now he's the single RB doing what Carter and Hall did last week against the Ravens.
Ravens still let Flacco, Joe friggin Flacco, throw for 300+ yards, take away that pick-6 and we have a game here. anyways, I'd expect this to be the game that Edmonds is unleashed.

Ok @Chaka (and anyone else)

Assuming we have no update on Gabe Davis tomorrow before the early games, should I:

1. Start Davis, and throw caution to the wind (heavy favorite, opponent already had 4 players go, QB, WR, Kelce & Bosa, all underachieved)

2. Wait until MNF, and pick up Phillips or Crowder

3. Play it safe and start R. Stevenson at flex over Davis.

I bow to your omnipresent omniscience. :tebow:
If Philips or Crowder are available then I would wait until game time. I don't have that luxury of having any drops but I have decent alternatives - although Julio is on of the possibilities and he is in the same boat.

Thanks - I also have Logan Thomas if there’s news early. It’d save me an add drop

Superflex - pick two 🤢
Brady Vs NO with all his receivers injured
Lance Vs Seattle
Tannehill Vs Buffalo
Trubisky Vs NE
Flacco Vs Cleveland

Leaning towards Brady and Lance but really don’t like any of these matchups.

Also, two flex
Nyheim Hines
Paris Campbell
Dalton Schultz

Leaning Campbell and Schultz

Thanks!

Lance for sure
I think Tannehill/Brady are probably tied

I'd go both colts. They are the only 2 healthy to catch the ball

Thanks as always Chaka!

So in standard --I need ONE flex from:

Stevenson @ Pitt
E. Moore @ Clev
Pollard vs Cinn
D. London @ LAR
Herbert @ GB
Watson vs CHi
DPJ vs NYJets

Kinda intrigued by London here -- he had a good # of targets Week 1 and they should be behind in this one ---
[GeorgeTakei]Oh my.[/GeorgeTakei]

You got a bunch of boom/bust going on here. I have been staring at your post for two minutes not trying to come up with a take on any of these guys and I'm still coming up empty.

I love Moore as a WR and Flacco threw the ball 41 times last week to WRs & TEs. Should we expect that volume every week with the Jets? I have no idea. But it's a tough matchup and the Jets offense does not look ready for public access television, on UHF, let alone primetime.

I'm almost always out on all Patriots ATM but Stevenson has as good a shot as...no, nevermind I'm still out on all Patriots ATM.

Even if Lazard misses this game it's hard to figure out which Packer WR to go with, if any at all.

Herbert? Maybe. Or maybe the Pack defense and running game grounds the Bears into a pile of goo. I'm betting on goo.

London was impressive last week and you figure the Rams will force ATL to pass a lot. But I think the Rams D has an outside shot at a shutout. Donald goes bonkers and Toast gets buttered (I know that metaphor makes zero sense but I'm sticking with it).

Yeah, it comes down to Pollard & DPJ IMO
Pollard has all the upside in the world, the Cowboys should be passing quite a bit and even if they don't it's because the offense is funneling through the RBs. He's an interesting option, particularly with his home run ability.

DPJ may not get 11 looks every week but, man you gotta like that he is so involved in the passing game, particularly as he was always primarily a deep threat. If he is being used in the intermediate game with regularity and still has his home run ability, watch out.

DPJ>Pollard>>the rest
@Chaka --question -who of those guys in my flex would you drop for Mattison? He's available

Stevenson @ Pitt
E. Moore @ Clev
Pollard vs Cinn
D. London @ LAR
Herbert @ GB
Watson vs CHi
DPJ vs NYJets

Watson. Not even close IMO. The others either already have standalone value or a much easier path. Assume this is just a bench/hold question. I Atul would start several of those guys over Mattison. I don't think Mattison has much value outside of an injury to Cook over your other listed players.

Pick 1- PPR:

Julio @ NO
Woods @ BUF
Z Jones VS IND
I. McKenzie vs TEN
AJG @ LV
Julio isn't 100%, Bucs are making a decision on him after he warms up...I don't like that.
Woods is healthy and I understand the Bills are tough and they have a great Defense
Zay Jones was a surprise last week, don't know if he will see that many targets every week.
McKenzie might see more targets since Davis is Questionable and might not be able to go on every snap.
AJG is not in the conversation IMO and if he can't make noise now with 2 starting WRs down, a TE that was on a pitch count last week, I'm surprised he is starting for AZ.

Woods and McKenzie seem like potential safer plays than Julio but McKenzie is not a focal point of the offense.
I would lean on Bob Woods but that's me

Watson. Not even close IMO. The others either already have standalone value or a much easier path
In redraft I would part ways with others. If you saw Watson last week, the drop was frightening but he has loads of potential and group of stiffs right now starting in front of him. I think they will make Watson a starting WR on the outside, won't be the highest targeted guy but I see him hitting the stat box every other week with 75-80yds and a score. If he catches that ball, we're looking at 3/100/TD and I doubt we would be suggesting we part ways with him.

Stevenson has even worse upside right now. DPJ is a must keep? I don't know about that, let's revisit in a few weeks. Some different ways of looking at this group.

PPR. The top six teams out of 12 get a win this week.

Gabe Davis is questionable for Monday night. Should I play it safe and go with

Chris Olave against Tampa

Sterling Shepard against Carolina

or wait for the afternoon games and play

Nico Collins against Denver

Greg Dortch against Vegas.

I agree with you about Watson. The good news is they still went back to him after the drop. They have no one else with his speed on the roster so he will get his touches and chances.

Hi All, PPR flex need 2 out of 4 G. Davis (no one to p/u & play available in Mon games), D. Mooney, ETN & D. Henderson. I'm not sure I believe Henderson owns the LAR backfield. Thoughts? Thanks!

Superflex QB2 :

Mac Jones @ PIT
Geno Smith @ SF

PPR TE Premium Flex W/R/T (replacement for Kamara):

Kadarius Toney vs. CAR
Will Dissly @ SF
JD McKissic @ DET

Superflex - pick two 🤢
Brady Vs NO with all his receivers injured
Lance Vs Seattle

Trubisky Vs NE

Leaning towards Brady and Lance but really don’t like any of these matchups.

Also, two flex
Nyheim Hines
Paris Campbell
Dalton Schultz

Leaning Campbell and Schultz

Thanks!
I hear you on the QB situation for sure but it's still gotta be Brady & Lance. They're still the best players.

Is this PPR? Personally info with Hines over Campbell. Campbell came up small last week despite being getting a significant snap count over five quarters and Ryan throwing 50 passes. He was outperformed by two UDFAs. He is very difficult to rely upon. Hines production seems baked in and he has decent upside.

Shultz>Hines>Campbell

I'd play it safe with Davis (I think) even though it's a bummer - ETN & Mooney. I don't trust the Rams backfield yet and watch this be the week that after Akers got called out he shows up big time.

Same boat with Davis, leaning towards C Olave or rolling the dice with Davis in your case. The others seem like dart throws with your dominate eye closed.

So if you made the move today, Stevenson ? Kinda how I'm leaning.
Different leagues and I play Redraft almost exclusively and I don't think anyone is running to get RS this week or DPJ when you factor in Cooper and Brissett throwing the ball.

I would keep Moore and London...the rest are all negotiable but DPJ is doing well so far, at least he's a throw in on a trade. Watson is not going to see a lot of targets with Lazard back this week but I think he has a lot of potential for later in the year. Feel the same way about Herbert and don't think it's going to take long.

I don't see Stephenson relegating Harris to the bench. Unless Harris is unavailable then RS is limited in what he can produce. But I'm sure he will flash and break some tackles that make folks jaw drop watching him, he's a good player no doubt about it.

What is Pollard doing for your roster? Dallas is torpedo'd on Offense for a few weeks. But it's early and you probably invested something to get him.

Mattison is valuable when they trade him but I stopped hearing those rumors.

Flex Michael Carter or Breece Hall

Lol

.5ppr
I would start Carter and enjoy watching Breece Hall get a few more hand offs today. The Jets can't survive with Flacco throwing the football 60 times like last week.
Carter looked good and definitely has the support of the coaches. I don't think they drafted Hall because they dislike Carter but wanted to have 2 good RBs with a young QB that is still finding his way. I'm not rooting against either of them, anxious to see how this will continue to play out. Hall is a rookie and will get more time as the season progresses, that's almost a fact.

But for now, I would say Carter.

Thanks for this! Mattison was just grabbed off WW by another team :<_<: --so looks like I'm staying put

Standard scoring, with 1 point per first down. Trying to replace Pittman. Options are Jacobi Meyers, Greg Dortch, Parris Campbell, Russell Gage, or Donovan Peoples-Jones. Pick one,
I'm off the Pats until further notice. I have spoken about it extensively in these threads. Just shot down Campbell above. Gonna pass on Gage too because it really looks like a committee over there after Evans and my Bucs play this week is Julio (I'm not alone in that one).

That leaves Dortch, I don't know why his name makes me want to laugh but it does, and DPJ. They both had interesting, high volume games and it is difficult to know what to expect from either again this week. DPJ has more of a track record, but that record includes disappearing for long stretches. OTOH Dortch has only been available for 7 games his first two seasons, not sure if that is because of injury or not being good enough to make the game day roster.

It's a coin flip, I honestly can't make a compelling argument for either but I would start either over the rest of them.

Go with your gut. Gun to my head:

DPJ>Dortch and as I typed that I immediately regretted it. Pretty sure the same would happen if I went Dortch>DPJ
I think Dortch is gonna get the targets. He’s been a drumbeat guy all off season and played well in pre season. He may end up being a significant fantasy asset for the beginning of the year and maybe beyond. I think the Vegas pass rush is gonna get to Kyler forcing him to hit Dortch on the short targets.

DPJ seems more boom bust.

Pick 1- PPR:

Julio @ NO
Woods @ BUF
Z Jones VS IND
I. McKenzie vs TEN
AJG @ LV
I am pretty sure most of us have our eye on Julio this week after a solid debut and so many of the Bucs, allegedly dinged up. I think he has a fine opportunity for volume and, IMO, a better shot at a TD than the rest of your options.

If you think Gabe Davis may actually sit then McKenzie is a good option and there is plenty of offense to go around on the Bills. On the flip side that offense can hit you so many different ways it is very easy to see any weapon not named Diggs get overlooked any given week. Particularly as Cook gets more involved.

Zay had a fine debut in Jax but I want to see him do it twice.

No on Woods ATM, the knee may not be quite there yet.

No on AJG. If he could only muster 4 targets in that game script I want to see Arizona figure things out before I start any pass catcher other than Ertz and, I guess Marquise.

Julio>McKenzie>Zay

ETA: @mzkp54 Obviously with Julio a GTD I still play him but you may be risk averse to that, which is completely understandable. Good thing it's an early game and you have options.

PPR. The top six teams out of 12 get a win this week.

Gabe Davis is questionable for Monday night. Should I play it safe and go with

Chris Olave against Tampa

Sterling Shepard against Carolina

or wait for the afternoon games and play

Nico Collins against Denver

Greg Dortch against Vegas.
Olave has his work cut out vs the Bucs, I prefer Landry in that game today. Due to Kamara perhaps not playing or limited, seems like short passes will be gobbled up but that could be more targets for Olave, he's not a terrible choice and will pop one of these weeks to announce his presence in the NFL.

I don't like that Davis popped up on the injury report but he was really good on his targets last week. He only needs 4-6 targets to find the end zone and Tennessee shouldn't be that much of an obstacle on Defense.

Collins and Dortch are sneaky but feel more like darts right now.

Shepard did not have a lot of targets last week, but he does seem to be the best of the Giants WR when he is healthy. If you like rolling the dice, Olave might be a more exciting pick.

FYI, Julio is a GTD and the Bucs have to see how he feels after he warms up...just saying that the situation needs monitoring before kick off. Not sure what happens to the Bucs if Julio is a no go.

Start 2QB's, 4/passing TD:

Carr vs Cards
Cousins @ Eagles
Brady @ Saints

Leaning benching Brady given the WR injury situation and that I'm starting Evans anyway

Std scoring w bonus at 100 yds rushing:
Flex - need one
Penny @ SF (currently my pick)
Edmonds @Balt
E. Moore at Clev
Bateman v. Mia
These are all very similar options. Penny is the best talent but I have a lot of, non-injury related concerns: 1) It's a low volume offense (only 55 plays last week, seemed like a lot more but it wasn't) 2abd&d) Short week on the road coming off a big high against a very good team coming off a disappointing loss 3) He doesn't really seem to be a factor in the passing game 4) Ken Walker III is apparently going to play this week.

It's close but I like Edmonds a little more than Penny because I think he is in a better situation on a better team. The Dolphins were a low volume offense last week but they had the game in hand from the kickoff, I think there is a lot more offensive output upside in Miami than in Seattle. They have similar weapons but I think Tua>>>Geno and I think McDaniel is a more aggressive offensive game planner than Pete.

I can make an argument for Moore & Bateman but I like the volume opportunities that Edmonds and Penny represent more than either of their upsides.

Edmonds>Penny>Bateman>Moore

Good point about Kamara being out. That should increase the Olave targets.

I’m starting to think waiting for the afternoon guy’s makes sense. More information could come out about Davis. Maybe they bring up a guy from the practice squad or it’s reported that Davis is looking better or worse. Also, I can see how my team is doing after the early games. If I’m doing well I could throw in Dortch and play it safe by getting at least some points. If I don’t do well I can gamble on the upside of Davis.

Lance over Brady (6pt PaTD)?

Also Curtis Samuel over David Montgomery and Mooney in .5ppr correct?
I get the concern about Brady but in a 6pt for pass TD I go with Brady comfortably. Lance will have big games at some point, maybe this week but Mike Evans is going to play and until Brady starts to fail reliably I don't see how you can bench him in that format. But I will say, with the injuries in TB Lance probably has more upside any given week.

Brady>Lance

Definitely Samuel over Montgomery & Mooney this week.

Samues>Montgomery>Mooney

Fields or Mills? 4 points per passing TDs

I know, I know, they both suck, but have to start one :wall:
I’d go Fields in that format. Denver was embarrassed on Monday night and should bounce back big against Houston. They will be playing without Justin Simmons which is big though. On the other hand maybe Hackett decides to punt on first down or something stupid like that.

No Olave, no Shepard, no Nico, maybe Dortch but it does feel like chasing points IMO.

The question I have is there anyone on the wire from Buf/Ten/Min/Phi that you could pick up if you get bad news tomorrow? KJ Osborn & Crowder come to mind.

This really comes down to your risk tolerance I personally roll the dice on Davis.

Hi All, PPR flex need 2 out of 4 G. Davis (no one to p/u & play available in Mon games), D. Mooney, ETN & D. Henderson. I'm not sure I believe Henderson owns the LAR backfield. Thoughts? Thanks!
Etienne seems like a great bet in your situation and, while I agree a little bit about Henderson I do think the matchup will allow the Rams to still get him plenty of volume.

I personally am comfortable waiting on Davis but ETN & Henderson are good options in your situation.

There’s no one to pick up. This is a 12 team 20 round draft. Even Nick Westbrook and Shakir were drafted. We do FAAB so I couldn’t pick up anybody if I wanted to.

I don’t think Dortch is chasing points. He’s playing the role R Moore would have and did a great job last week.

Superflex QB2 :

Mac Jones @ PIT
Geno Smith @ SF

PPR TE Premium Flex W/R/T (replacement for Kamara):

Kadarius Toney vs. CAR
Will Dissly @ SF
JD McKissic @ DET
Did you draft Dak?

I guess I would roll with Geno over Mac because he has DK and Lockett and the Patriots simply don't have anyone to match that.

Geno>Mac

I probably go with McKissic as the second option. Detroit may represent a great matchup for opposing offenses all season and their offense can put pressure on opposing teams to be aggressive. I love what I saw from Samuel last week but 11 targets isn't sustainable, and neither is 8 targets for Gibson so maybe there will be some more opportunities for other targets.

Dissly is putting too much into the Seattle offense and how can you trust Toney at this point?

McKissic>Dissly>Toney

Tee Higgins vs Dallas
or
AJ Dillon vs Chicago
PPR league
I consider this a good problem to have. Higgins cleared the concussion protocol so it's pretty much a coin toss.

I am not sure I can reason my way to a solid choice. I guess I lean Higgins but it's by the slimmest of margins. I could see the Packers come out and pound the heck out of the Bears at home after a humiliating loss last week (sound familiar?) There is also the smallest part of me that thinks, Michah Parsons may go bonkers and make Cincinnati's day rough like the Steelers did last week but...no.

Honestly, flip a coin. I guess I go with:
Higgins>Dillon with almost no confidence but there is also little downside.
