Took the kids over to my dad's today to go swimming on a day off. His newish wife doesn't want to be called Deb, her name is Debbie.
So of course, on the way home I was annoying them by butchering her request into the lyrics of Always a Woman to Me.

Which promptly got me singing Always Houshmanzadeh to Me, by our illustrious @bigbottom
So when I get home I go to see how many of the lyrics I remember and see that was 17 years ago,

17 #$%*ing years ago. Where did they go? Never thought Bradyfan83 parodies would be something to reminisce over, but here we are.

Also had this exchange this morning with one of our newer associate attorneys and one of my paralegals (both are in their mid-20s):

Me to paralegal: You know, a twist like in the Sixth Sense movie.
Paralegal: What movie?
Me: You know, M. Night Shamalyan? Made maybe the greatest twist ending movie ever but has failed to make anything close since.
Paralegal: wat?
Me to associate attorney: C'mon, you know the Sixth Sense movie, right?
Associate: No... (wondering if I'm gonna fire her for not knowing)

Getting out of bed :kicksrock:
Woke up with a cramp in my neck. I assume from sleeping awkwardly on it or something. Been killing me all day.
I used to get neck cramps all the time, and I always blamed it on not being able to find just the right pillow. Then I realized that I never this problem when I sleep in hotels, because they give you like a dozen pillows and you can arrange them Tetris-style to support your neck as you toss and turn. So I ordered two cheap pillows off Amazon. Problem solved. I've been doing that for a couple of years now and it completely eliminated cricks in my neck.

Amazing. Hard to believe it’s been 17 years.

Apparently you weren't the only one crazy about him:

Nothing today has made me feel old, but yesterday I was talking to a 16-year old about stuff kids/young adults do.

A couple things I found shocking, reminding me of my age: young males shamelessly getting perms, and prophylactic Botox.

#championship!

Some kid in the neighbourhood "rickrolled" me, and I was just staring at him confused, he called me a "no fun old man"

I’m at an Air Force base for a week long course, watching ROTC cadets marching around and remembering they’re younger than two of my sons.
And then talking with one of the new Air Force lawyers, who was born after I was commissioned.

Everytime I feel a sneeze coming on now, and that little voice in the back of mind speaks up and makes me wonder if this will be the sneeze that locks my back up for good and leaves me paralyzed.

Sneezing shouldn't hurt.

Definitely had that experience, but at what age does it become the norm?

Seems like most people start breaking down in their mid-50s, and even doing everything "right" doesn't delay it much.

Will be 62 next month. Have plantar fasciitis in both feet. Need about 5 minutes of rolling & stretching my ankles before I move.

I walk 10,000+ steps every day and have learned a lot about how to ameliorate it, but if I don't do basic exercises after getting up each day, pain management becomes an issue.

Neat.

Lol....not me, proud to still have the sphincter control of an 18 year old.

Sore knees, aching back, balky shoulder, creaky ankles... take your pick. Most days I wake up feeling like a rusted hulk.

Ouch! My hip wasn't hurting yesterday. Oh well, add it to the list.

I do appreciate that I’m still one of the youngest in my office. Of the 7 of us, I’m third youngest, with 3 of us within 5 years. The oldest has been working here longer than I’ve been alive.

Driving through Los Angeles last week and turned the radio to K-Earth 101and now it plays "oldies" from the 70's, 80's & 90's. I remember growing up and my parents having it on in the car (in the 80's) and it was still playing "oldies" but then it was from the 50's and 60's. Ugh.

Was this past weekend today?

My wife and I were at the neighborhood pool and an ice cream truck came past, blaring the ice cream truck music. Another couple (late 20's/early 30's?) with 2 very young children wondered loudly what that was and then discussed what it could have been.

I looked over at my wife and was dumbfounded as we both heard that as kids and came running when it was likely a mile away. Kids were too young for them to be playing it off to dissuade interest in ice cream treats so I took it as genuine. I actually told my wife, "$%#@, we're old."

Yuck. I battled that hard last summer through the winter. I have a ton of sympathy for anybody dealing with the condition.

Yoga works wonders for the old body

I'll never forget, out driving, listening to the classic rock radio station. Played some Aerosmith from the 70s. Then a Rolling Stones song.

Then Green Day.

30th anniversary edition of Dookie came out a few months ago. Think i still have my original release cd in a closet somewhere

High School grad parties. I have been to handful this year and it is just a party for family. All older people.

When I was going to grad parties as a junior, senior and a freshman in college all our friends went and had fun.

Not today, but when that wonderkid for Spain scored that goal in the Euros semi final and it turns out I'm seven years older than his dad...
