Silly on Team B's part. Pretty common practice in the pre-techno age. It's for things like that why you have a commish in the 1st place he should trust you and the things you do for the league.
you see its a robot that turns into a bug'Buffaloes said:I still don't get it.'belljr said:Because the guy was at work and called me.'Buffaloes said:why are you responsible for making lineup changes for any team but yours?![]()
As a commish, is it not in your bylaws to be required to have your cell phone on you 15 minutes prior to kickoff of any game? I think you're the one at fault here...Seriously thought, Team B is overreacting. It's not like you waited until the end of game or after the weekend to make the change or let Team B know. Explain to B that the same courtesy shall be extended to him if the situation ever arises. What? Maybe I explained it wrong.TEAM A - calls from work, "belljr, I can't set my lineup, I want to start roethlisberger" message left at 8:14belljr sitting on couch watching tv, without his phone. Roethlisberger TD to Wallace is under review.Belljr runs up stairs to get a beverage, sees he has a message on his phone.belljr retrieves said message.belljr runs back downstairs, gets on computer, changes lineup and calls TEAM B to let him knowThen why didn't you just do it instead of calling the other owner first?I would make the change if I got the message/request before one of the players started their game and was able to make the change before the game started. After the game starts, SOL, not the commish's responsibility.'belljr said:What? Not everyone has smart phones.... and not to get off topic but there was fantasy before people had computers'footballnerd said:I'm not sure the commish is responsible to make line up changes. I have never seen that before especially with everyone having smartphones. I've been playing this game for a long time too.So you are saying if someone was not near a computer and called you, you wouldn't make the change? That's harsh
Not only aOwner B is a #####, as are all the people here giving you #### for making the change. Of course you should sub in Roethlisberger, there is absolutely zero reason to do otherwise.
This.Its a thankless job
depending on your scoring system, Ben scored less than RG3's average. (not that it matters)Tell B to get over it.If Ben had gotten knocked out of the game during the first series, would Owner B still be upset? If RG3 goes out and scores 40, will Owner B still be upset? I'm thinking 'no' on both counts, which leaves Owner B as acting like a selfish child here.Stuff happens - leaving that voice mail was the same as clicking 'Submit/Save Changes' online as I see it.Tell Owner B to calm down or find another league next year.
This used to be SOP before the proliferation of smart phones and high speed internet in every home.Nothing to see here. Make the change and give the comlaining owner a history lesson.
No, I know plenty of owners in my local league who don't have smart phones and are barely capable of using the internet on a computer. In this day and age, don't most, if not all, owners have smart phones so they can make changes themselves without needing to be on a computer...no?
No doubt. Tell team B you thought it over and you aren't going to change his QB to roethlisberger after all.Hows team b feel about the move now?![]()
I was going to say tell Team B that you forgot to tell him that Team A called back and changed his starter to RGIII. Watch hilarity ensue. No doubt. Tell team B you thought it over and you aren't going to change his QB to roethlisberger after all.Hows team b feel about the move now?![]()
