No, but I will check the final score to see if the Eagles lost. That would be glorious if they did. They should lose.
I really don't understand the hate.
That’s because you are not a Cowboys fan
I guess so. I'm a Player fan and my FF endeavors steer me into different teams. I have no more team to cheer. Spanos took that away. I would love to see Saquon Barkley get a ring. After all he's been through I think he deserves it. As for Philly fans I find them knowledgeable and welcoming. In the Eagles thread I never think twice- I just post.

I love Eagles fans because they throw snowballs at Santa Clause and beat the :poop: out of opposing fans on occasions when they get too rowdy. Love the movie Invincible. I’m sure Vince Papale will be cheering them on.

I will watch, but I am less interested in this one than I have been for any in years, and many friends of mine are the same

Saw it. It happens everywhere. Used to happen all the time in San Diego when the Raiders came into town. Fights, stabbings curse words- Sad really. I've visited Arrowhead while wearing Charger gear. I took some ribbing but also ate great BBQ for free in the tailgate. One person or even 10 don't define a fandom. I think the Philly thread proves that. Most are level headed and know right from wrong.

There is a TikTok guy whose shtick is to go to stadiums wearing the opposite team’s jersey. He then proceeds to instigate and troll the hell out of the home team fans. He showed up at the Link 2 weeks ago wearing the Washington jersey. It was entertaining.

I think I saw some of that video. The funny part of it is that the TikTok guy doesn’t stir the pot with people who would beat him to a pulp only goes after those he is bigger than. Would give him much more credit if he chose to “punch up” rather than pick on the weak spots.

This is the pee in the shower two types of people statement. There are only two groups; those who do, and those who lie about it. Anyone who is legitimately not watching the Super Bowl is 99% a casual fan who has also not watched it in years past. I'm sure there will be some 1%ers reading this insisting they are avid football fans but also not watching this SB and all I can say is I think you are either a liar or part of a near nil minority.

Not enjoying it, not liking the teams in it, not liking the fan bases of the teams in it, not liking the half time show, etc. etc. etc. is all valid. "Boycotting watching" because of any of this is a lie or a misdirect.
I am not watching but I am a casual fan of the NFL at this point in my life. I barely watched any games this season and when I did I was disappointed in the product for reasons most of you could guess. I have been watching less NFL for the last few years.

I am a big sports guy. I coach. My wife coaches. My teenage daughter plays multiple sports. I am more interested in sport/competition than fanfare and the NFL and SB just dont excite me any longer. I don’t even know who is doing the halftime show so that isn’t an excuse either way.

I haven’t watched the last few SBs and don’t miss it. I will probably play my guitar and then watch whatever my wife and daughter put on. They won’t be watching the SB. Yesterday, I asked my daughter if she was interested in the SB and she asked what that means! The kid is busy playing b ball for the school and travel v ball right now so she doesn’t really watch much of anything. She’s at practices and games 7 days a week.

Definitely watching the super bowl, will watch some of the commercials, but not that interested. Will skip the halftime show completely, except spying in to see if halftime is over.

I am not a huge fan of either team, but will watching for a few specific things:

  1. Will Philadelphia coaches be smart enough to stick with the run?
  2. Will Mahomes continue to get several roughing the passer/intentional roughness calls?
  3. Can Hurts be efficient and avoid turnovers?

How can people not be interested in seeing Auburn's own, Patrick Mahomes, go for 3 straight?

I'm in for Barkley runs and Swift screen time while I root for the Eagles.

Yeah it’s definitely an odd shtick. He’s apparently a massive OSU fan but trolled his own fanbase when they played Michigan.

I'll watch at least the 1st Q. If it's entertaining and/or my squares are in play I'll keep it on. No interest in the halftime show.

This might be one of the greatest analogies I've seen here. Kudos.

Honestly for me it's Taylor Swift and Donald Trump that solidified me not watching this years game.
Seriously? I get that overexposure to anyone not directly involved is annoying, but just look the other way when they pop on. It's easy and effective.

But sounds like your lack of interest runs deeper than seeing shots of POTUS and Ms Swift during the broadcast
Agreed. No clue how much the president will be shown, but people who have tracked it have eemonstrated that Swift is almost always shown for less than 60 seconds at games that she attends. I can't imagine being so bothered by someone that seeing them for 45 seconds in a game that will last close to 4 hours in real time, but we all have our own cross to bear.

Agreed

These are the last teams in each conference I would’ve chosen to have in the Super Bowl. But I will still have friends over to enjoy good food and drink and enjoy the game

Yeah, I’ve never seen red blooded American men get so angry about a good looking woman being shown on their televisions before. To each their own I guess

I'm gonna half-*** watch, I dont care who wins, dont really like KC, but it is the big game, so I plan to do stuff all day up until kickoff, then start to watch it. It is an obnoxious game, even if my Steelers were to ever make one again, its too much BS all day.
PS: I hope the show Taylor 50 times and it drives people crazy. I hope she also is on at halftime with Kendrick, and they do that song of hers with him in it. 🤯
I hope Philly wins, but really dont care.
PSS: Philly fans after a win would be great entertainment tho.

I will be turning on the NFL Network at 8:00 am and watch every minute of the pre-game hype there and then switch to the Fox pregame once they come on.

I need to soak it all in when I can because I can remember a time when I thought the Chiefs would NEVER get there in my lifetime.

If they weren't in it I would still watch. Sports are a hobby of mine. There is only one day a year when a sports nerd can consume all this silliness followed by a spectacle of the game. It's the season for it.

I have other days where I can hike, or fish, or sit on the deck, or hang out in the shop. As a sports nerd, the BIG GAMES are what you live for. No way I'm ever missing this game.

Of course I'll watch.

I watch almost every finals, outside the NBA

I won't be heavily vested but if you are a sports fan how will you not watch.

I watch zero basketball. But March madness NC.. I will watch a little at least.

I'll watch pretty much anything sports related championship

Shrug
Same. My interest in sports has really veered off course. I went from decades ago being able to name most relief pitchers on a team to not being able to name 5 total players in the league. I'll still watch some of the world series. At one point i could makeout most NBA rosters. Haven't watched a regular season NBA game in years. I'll still watch the Finals. I watched a half of an NFL game this year for Thanksgiving. That was it. I'll definitely watch Super Bowl. As I get older I find myself less consumed with sports.

Will you be recording Taylor Swift clips to replay when the Chiefs are no longer relevant? :).......jk

I will have it on in the background, I don't want to watch mahomes/chiefs win another Superbowl.

If I thought the eagles would win, then sure.

I like to root for the underdogs, and I am disappointed that neither Allen or Jackson get a shot after the year they had.

I think the only one's I have skipped on purpose were the one's where the Eagles got beat in the playoffs, and was just salty with NFL because the team i rooted for couldn't get it done. Like if I was a Lion's fan I would likely skip it still being pissy after losing in the divisional round.

Oh I'm 100% "casual" as in I don't know every third line winger in the NHL

But I still watch

Now that I quit fantasy football, I barely know any of the NFL rosters

I will always love her for this time when she was in my life.

There's a stat that says 72% of Americans will watch the Super Bowl, yet less than that will watch when asking people on a football site who are here to talk football!?

That makes zero sense.

Guess mom isn’t letting them out of the basement

I probably won’t watch. Who wants to watch a great football match up in the biggest game of the year, with everything on the line? That’s boring.

Plus, I can’t stand Eagles’ fans. They’re the worst human beings in the history of terrible human beings. Joe Stalin watches Eagles fans from hell and boos.

Of course, because people who dont know a thing about football watch, for commercials, for betting on the coin toss, to Taylor Swift. My aunt doesnt know a player outside of TJ Watt, but she will watch it.

Honestly for me it's Taylor Swift and Donald Trump that solidified me not watching this years game. Don't have a horse in this race and I'm pretty over both of those personalities which I'm sure will garner screen time so I pass. Going to a freinds, a non-football fan, to hang out and watch movies instead. I'll live.
This sounds to me like you miss hate-watching the Pats in the Super Bowl. j/k
I do not miss it.

Signed,
Eagles fan in NE

He's right, I can't stand the NBA regular season and I try hard to get into hockey but I tend to be a lot more interested and glued to the games in the Playoffs

No, but I will check the final score to see if the Eagles lost. That would be glorious if they did. They should lose.

Yeah, they're awesome.

Pick one team, in any professional sport, and I will find you a video of their horrible fans.

PS - no one likes idiotic fans
