WR CeeDee Lamb, DAL (1 Viewer)

Sure hope this isn't just the typical rookie hype.  I'm counting on Lamb to be my WR3 after taking both Kittle and Russell Wilson in the first 7 rounds.

Less CeeDee talk on the radio this week as last week was all about him. He'd come up, but it was like assumed greatness, oh yeah he made a nice play so about this guy...

A lot of callers wanting to know if they should be making DB moves and all this talk exposed weaknesses.

I keep feeling like this is how greatness plays out through the press n camp and all.

I haven't heard much about Gallup since camp and I listen every day. I can't decide if this means CeeDee all but stole his spot so let's forget about him for FF or they run 3 WR sets and he'll now be a forgotten guy getting great matchups so I should jump on selecting him.

I think Cooper is a stay away at his price, Gallup is a target at his price and Lamb is priced right so it depends on where you are in your roster on whether you take him or not.  I wouldn't  have a problem ending up with both Gallup and Lamb

:goodposting:

5 step process:

Step 1 - don't draft Coop.

Step 2 - position yourself for Gallup.

Step 3 - should you not get Gallup go get Lamb a little early.

Step 4 - if you somehow miss all of them then pick Jarwin.

Step 5 - even if you got one of them pick Jarwin anyway.

Stephen Jones on Ceedee Lamb: “I think he’s exceeded all expectations. He’s got, I think, rare football IQ. It just comes so natural to him...Everything just seems to click with him...he’s going to make a big, big difference in our offensive football team"

Cowboys rookie CB Trevon Diggs: “I’m practicing against one of the best receivers every day. That’s preparing me for the games. (If) Coach throws me out there, I’m going to be ready.”

Wished I could have him. But after going 1.02 on Jonathan Taylor there is zero chance on getting him. My fav WR in this draft by far.

I just got him at 1.11 in a 12 team SF, IDP dynasty league this past weekend.  It was RB happy and went like this:

1.01 - Burrow

1.02 - CEH

1.03 - Tua

1.04 - Chase Young

1.05 - Dobbins

1.06 - Taylor

1.07 - Akers

1.08 - Herbert

1.09 - Swift

1.10 - Moss

1.11 - Lamb

CeeDee Lamb Set Up As A Week 1 Starter

Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is set to start in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. Lamb of course got no preseason games and is coming from the Big-12, where defenses essentially don't exist, so he could have a bit of a bigger learning curve than some are expecting. Still, with Mike McCarthy running three-wide sets as his base offense, Lamb will be on the field a lot and should man the slot at least at first. Last season, Randall Cobb, a significantly less talented receiver than Lamb, saw 83 targets in a similar role. Lamb might not be great in Week 1 or Week 2, but he should be able to catch up quickly and show why he was a first-rounder pretty soon after.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller

Excited to watch him play. We also get 1 pt/20 return yards, so I'm starting him in my flex over Dobbins, Moss, Slayton, Edwards, Hooper. FWIW.

OK, this is the last time I leave him on my bench, rookie or not.  Looks totally on point out there and Dak doesn't mind looking his way.

CeeDee Lamb caught 5-of-6 targets for 59 yards in Week 1 against the Rams.

Lamb started in the slot as expected. He was targeted by Dak Prescott early but faded in the second half. Lamb played 59 snaps, 10 fewer than Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. Lamb's ROS outlook got a boost when the Cowboys lost TE Blake Jarwin to a torn ACL. He's an upside flex for Week 2 against the Falcons.

Dak's confidence isn't there yet. There were several times CeeDee was open and he went elsewhere. He can't miss when he "breaks someone's ankles" with a move, gotta hit him then.

Surely that will be pointed out on tape but also Amari won't always have to fend off Ramsey either.

I didn't see the Cowboys move the WRs around as much as was talked about all summer. I think that's confidence too, from McCarthy/OC. It's common coach speak to say every WR should know every spot but they really made them lineup different often in camp so....try it.

Pleased with the first game and future for him, unsure of the offense though. They should be a special offense so probably time to gel and adjust game plan etc.

Encouraging start.  The Dallas offense will probably be like it was last year: blah against most of the good defenses they face, but light it up in most of the other games.  And Jerry Jones loves to show off his new toys, so Lamb will get fed a bit in those games against the bottom feeder defenses, some of which are coming very soon. All on board!!

Thought Lamb looked solid, but definitely feels like a situation of too many mouths to feed for fantasy purposes when you consider that Zeke is a lock to be the focus of the gameplan.  Barring an injury, all three WRs are going to be maddeningly inconsistent. That said, the Jarwin injury helps a bit as Schultz looked terrible.

CeeDee Lamb played 59-of-72 snaps (82 percent) in Week 1 against the Rams.

Lamb rarely left the field in the Cowboys' three-wide base offense. He repped from the slot and saw six targets with Jalen Ramsey taking away Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup on the outside. Lamb’s role is trending up with Blake Jarwin (ACL, IR) out for the season. He gets a matchup with a Falcons secondary that was shredded for 322 yards and four touchdowns by Russell Wilson in Week 1.

He outsnapped Cooper and Gallup his first game. That's impressive.
It was close, but I'm seeing Coop 96%, Gallup 95% and Lamb 82%. Bottom line doesn't change, though, at least for week 1 - dude was a fixture on the field. Might be different though in game scripts that involve more 2 WR sets. We'll have to see.

I bet it's wrong but it still says Lamb outsnapped them. I was shocked.

Edit he supposedly outsnapped Dak too! Lolol now we know it's wrong.

Stock definitely on the rise. I’m keeping him in all lineups until something changes.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle) was limited in Thursday's practice.

The officials Cowboys injury report says Cooper has an ankle injury while beat writers are calling it a foot issue. Either way, it's not ideal when a player pops up on a late-week injury report. We'll monitor Cooper's status in the lead up to a prime matchup with an Atlanta secondary that was scorched last week by Russell Wilson.

Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver CeeDee Lamb led the Cowboys in receiving in an amazing comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons. Lamb caught six passes, gaining 106 scoreless yards. He was targeted nine times, tying Amari Cooper for most among Cowboys wide receivers and falling one being the 10 targets seen by tight end Dalton Schultz. It was an impressive showing by the rookie wide receiver, who should have even more upside as he continues to settle into the offense. With the Cowboys running plenty of three-wide sets, especially now with Blake Jarwin (knee) out for the year, Lamb's fantasy arrow is pointing straight up.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller

Pretty good performance for a rookie. Helped that the Cowboys were in catch-up mode the entire game.

Bold Prediction: CeeDee Lamb Will be Cowboys’ X-factor Against Seattle

CeeDee Lamb is off to a hot start with the Dallas Cowboys and surprisingly enough has already cemented his name in Cowboys history.

Last week against the Atlanta Falcons he became the first rookie in the history of the organization to record a 100-yard receiving game in the first two weeks of a season, which will likely be just the first of many such. In fact, I think things are setting up nicely for him to have another 100-yard receiving game this week against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks might be undefeated (2-0) so far to start the 2020 season, but you wouldn’t know it by the way their defense is performing. Seattle’s defensive numbers are downright ugly and the Dallas Cowboys high-powered offense should be able to capitalize on that.

No other team in the league has allowed more yardage (485) or passing yards (415.5) as Seattle has per game so far this year. In fact, the 847 passing yards they’ve allowed is the second most in NFL history in the first two games of a season.

Just last week Cam Newton lit them up 397 yards, 179 of which Julian Edelman hauled in. And this is where I believe CeeDee Lamb comes in to play, who like Edelman plays predominantly out of the slot.

No offense to Cam Newton or the rest of the New England Patriots offensive weapons, but I don’t think they hold a candle to what the Dallas Cowboys have at their disposal. If the Patriots can have the kind of success they had offensively last week against Seattle’s defense, there’s no reason to believe the Cowboys can’t do the same or better.

With Seattle’s best corners likely matched up with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup, that leaves what’s left to try to contain CeeDee Lamb. Last week that job was Jamal Adams’ at times, which is one of the reasons why Julian Edelman had such a big game, including a 49 yard bomb. Whether it’s Adams or someone else though, Lamb is going to be a big problem for the Seahawks.

That’s just the kind of pressure the Dallas Cowboys offense puts on opposing defenses though. There’s just not many defenses around the league who can match up with the kind of talent the Cowboys have at their disposal. Some players may go off one week while others another, but against the Seahawks I’m predicting it will be CeeDee Lamb.

I think CeeDee Lamb’s first 100-yard receiving game will end up being a huge confidence booster for him and only increase his appetite for more. The way Seattle’s passing defense has struggled and Lamb’s new hunger, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t have the best game of his career this week. Just remember, you heard it here first.
