WR Christian Watson, GB (1 Viewer)

I think with what we've seen from Doubs and Reed to start the season, the Packers are going to spread it around a lot this season.

I think Watson could see more than they do combined. He's such a unique talent. Just has to get/stay healthy.

Christian Watson is warming up on the field at Lambeau at the moment. I have not seen Aaron Jones. Both players questionable with hamstring injuries.

If Aaron Jones and/or Christian Watson play today, expect the Packers to have them on pitch counts given the short turnaround for Week 4 (Thursday night against the Lions).

This is not good, you never thought he was going to miss the first 2 weeks when you drafted him
Most took him as a possible WR2/3, we're not talking about a reserve.

It seems to be trending that he's not playing this weekend.
Packers did win by 18 last week without him
And now we extend the inactive streak to 3 games!
The guy has done his best impression of being on the Injured Reserve list all year so far

Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) said that he plans to play on Thursday against the Lions.
When he was asked directly about being on the field on Thursday, Watson said, “That’s the plan.” Obviously, players are always a bit more optimistic about their chances to see the field than teams are, and Watson still has two days of work before the Packers will make the final decision, but it’s still good to hear a player say that he is anticipating being on the field. Getting Watson back in the receiving corps alongside Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs would be big news for Jordan Love and the whole Packers offense on Thursday.

You need to be really desperate to roll the dice this week. players returning off hammy injuries are always so risky.. easy to get burned with a goose egg on a little reaggravation where they then hold him out. also short week with no game action with Love. wait and see approach seems to be most prudent here.

I don’t know the situational statistics and I’d like to but this strikes me as wisdom to heed.

Glad he plans on playing and let’s hope he gets thru the game with no setbacks. Anxious to see if there’s chemistry between he and Love.

A guy I listen to says Packers always take the precautionary extra week when a guy is close - so lets hope he's ready. If that's the mindset it makes sense to play him tomorrow with the added time off prior to week 5

I think that is why all the questionable players for the Saints game were made inactive, saving them for this game.

exactly....there are teams that are more cautious with injuries and others that seem to throw caution to the wind. The Packers are very cautious as a rule.

ya, it seemed he was close last week and they sounded optimistic which would support your statement. fingers crossed it's go time for him. It's like having a strong waiver pickup.

Maybe... but how do we know since Watson hasnt played yet?
I mean, I'm not making a declaration of fact and saying I'll eat my shirt if it's wrong. I'm just looking at available information and making an educated guess.

Fantasy Football is a game of "this is what I think is likely to happen." You draft guys based on the idea that you think they'll be good. You avoid guys that you think will be bad. How do we know anything in the pre-season?

Yes. There are no facts about the future. Anything can happen and we are all trying to guess at the likelihood based on the available information.

Interesting schedule quirk for the Packers as it relates to a wide receiver's tricky hamstrings - they play tomorrow night, then are off for 10 days until Monday night 10/9, then have a bye with their next game on Sunday afternoon, 10/22 in Denver. The Monday night game in Vegas will be their only game in a span of 23 days starting this Friday.

In light of this I don't see why they would risk unless they think he is 100%

Christian Watson (hamstring) is questionable for Week 4 against the Lions.

Watson is still looking to make his 2023 debut after being forced to sit for the Packers’ first three games of the season. He told reporters earlier in the week that the plan is for him to play on Thursday, but that doesn’t guarantee he is active. Fantasy managers will have an answer 90 minutes before kickoff when the Packers release their inactives. If Watson can’t go, Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs will see the bulk of the team’s snaps at wide receiver.

I guess the other way to look at it is if he tweaks something tomorrow night, he could miss the Monday night game in Vegas giving him a full 23 days rest to get it right. I think the Packers are likely going all out to win a big division game at home.

At this point probably dropping Watson for Josh Palmer or Tank Dell as my WR5.

Edit: In light of recent news he’s active, I’ll hold for now.
