Wow, between injuries and stuff like this it's really making me question playing dynasty. I'm really thinking of calling it quits in the offseason.
damn. I'm bad luck. Had Ridley and Ruggs.
https://mobile.twitter.com/davidcharns/status/1455592752444477443He was driving and was found intoxicated- that’s not good. Could be manslaughter charge pending.
If true, that's it for Ruggs. That's usually at least a 9 year sentence.
Should have already happened, IMOHow long until the Las Vegas Raiders announce he has been released by the team?
Not much to think about from owner/front office here, is there?
Not just that but at 3:00 in the morning in Vegas it's wall to wall cabs in almost every direction on top of Uber/Lyft.Get a ####in Uber, man. Smh

a/k/a vehicular manslaughter - not good.
As soon as the ink is dry on the charging documents, IMO.How long until the Las Vegas Raiders announce he has been released by the team?

after the lawyers parse everything out.How long until the Las Vegas Raiders announce he has been released by the team?

DUIs can occur anywhere but in Las Vegas where 3:00am is just the beginning of the late night/early morning parties, the National media was curious what could happen when a team moves to Vegas...
-Star WR involved in a DUI resulting in the death of another driver and likely the end of his NFL career
-Star Head Coach forced to resign amid scandal although not directly related to being in Las Vegas at all.
When is the gambling and covering the spread via the MOB going to be exploited?
As soon as the ink is dry on the charging documents, IMO.
That's the answer.after the lawyers parse everything out.
i know some NHL guys. i've met the owner of the ducks, henri Samueli. he tells his players, that he will pay for any kind of ride. helicopter, private jet, whatever. because there's no fixing something like this. just awful.Maybe not the NFL but I believe some professional teams coach their players and give them numbers to call. I'm sure he could have texted/called and got a limo to take him wherever he needed through the team. If the teams aren't doing that, they're crazy.
I agree but Vegas and the Strip, that's unique and part of the reason folks fly there from NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, even KCThere's NFL teams in NYC, Miami, Los Angelas and as you even said he could get a DUI even in Kansas City- pretty odd blaming Vegas but then again....
i believe miami already had an NFL player kill someone with a car in the wee hours of the morning. get out of here blaming the city.I agree but Vegas and the Strip, that's unique and part of the reason folks fly there from NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, even KC
I'm not blaming the actual city but they said there might be challenges with Las Vegas, this is a terrible start.
I wouldn't turn this into a "Las Vegas" thing over just one incident. Let's remember that Derrick Thomas was killed in a car accident in KC (no alcohol, but weather-related IRRC) -- sometimes things like this just happen.I agree but Vegas and the Strip, that's unique and part of the reason folks fly there from NYC, Los Angeles, Miami, even KC

Wasn't it Stallworth? Dude stepped off the sidewalk?i believe miami already had an NFL player kill someone with a car in the wee hours of the morning. get out of here blaming the city.
They happen way more when the driver is drunk tho.sometimes things like this just happen.
odd take, there is still a lot to find out. innocent until proven guilt good lordHow long until the Las Vegas Raiders announce he has been released by the team?

yep. stallworth was allegedly going to the gym. still intoxicated from the night before.Wasn't it Stallworth? Dude stepped off the sidewalk?
I couldn't even tell it was a corvette. It’s clear he should have taken an Uber/taxi, but from the pics you can tell that he was flying. Probably wanted to open up his Vette and see what it could do. SMH
RIP to the victim and family.
If they're charging him with felony DUI resulting in death, he's not innocent. His BAC was over the limit (likely tested at the hospital upon admission) and showed impairment at the scene.odd take, there is still a lot to find out. innocent until proven guilt good lord
he is facing a charge of according to the report, just like josh jacob’s faced charges of a dui. blood result changed Jacob’s case, i’m not saying this is the case here but it’s far from decided. If they're charging him with felony DUI resulting in death, he's not innocent. The presumption of innocence doesn't apply to a felony DUI
No, he's facing the charge according to the Las Vegas Sheriff's Dept.he is facing a charge of according to the report, just like josh jacob’s faced charges of a dui. blood result changed Jacob’s case, i’m not saying this is the case here but it’s far from decided.
Yeah but he was drunk at 3 in the morning...where I live as an example, bars tend to close by 9-10, you gotta search to find something open later, that's not an issue in Vegas where you can drink all day and night. The city/strip is 24/7 we can all agree on this? He's said to have been there or in that area, yes/no?I wouldn't turn this into a "Las Vegas" thing over just one incident. A lot available to get into trouble in that city.Yeah but he was drunk at 3 in the morning...where I live as an example, bars tend to close by 9-10, you gotta search to find something open later, that's not an issue in Vegas where you can drink all day and night. The city/strip is 24/7 we can all agree on this? He's said to have been there or in that area, yes/no?
I'm not pinning it on the city, the people who live there, local officials, I'm just stating the obvious that there is a lot to do all night long on the Strip and it's a VACATION DESTINATION, let's not sugarcoat it. It's an adult playground where anything goes and people can forget where they are after a few drinks, I've been there many times and can't remember quite a lot of it.
I feel bad for all those involved in this horrific accident. It's a shame because it's going to impact not just the victim and immediate family, not just Ruggs and his family but also the Raiders' fans who lose out and I understand the fans are a distant 3rd on this list.

Most of us mortal folks would go to jail for killing someone while driving drunk. Not sure of all the circumstances with Little, but this kind of thing usually means a substantial prison sentence.https://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=1789026
1998 - Rams DE Leonard Little > He was suspended for the first eight games of the 1999 season
after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in a June 1998
crash that killed Susan Gutweiler of Oakville. Little was sentenced
to 90 days in the city workhouse and four years of probation, as
well as ordered to perform 1,000 hours of community service.
The accident occurred after a night of celebrating on Little's
24th birthday. A blood test showed Little had a blood-alcohol level
of .19, nearly twice the legal limit of .10 at that time.

Different times now. Ruggs probably won't get off as easy.
Just stop while you're way behind. Bars closing at 10:00 pm is not very common so let's not pretend the rules in your small town apply to most other places.Yeah but he was drunk at 3 in the morning...where I live as an example, bars tend to close by 9-10, you gotta search to find something open later, that's not an issue in Vegas where you can drink all day and night.\
The bolded part. 1998 wasn't a social media/scrutiny era, and sportsballers got away with so much more.https://www.espn.com/nfl/news/story?id=1789026

Bars stay open past 10:00 in LA? That's crazy. There are two NFL teams in a city literally called "the city that never sleeps".
And the raiders moved from Los Angeles. Not Bristow, Oklahoma.
I know. I'm just saying that all of us can probably name a few guys who played for our favorite teams over the years who picked up DUIs. Obviously this one ended in the worst case scenario, but all teams have to deal with this sort of thing from time to time. (Some more than others, admittedly).Yeah but he was drunk at 3 in the morning...where I live as an example, bars tend to close by 9-10, you gotta search to find something open later, that's not an issue in Vegas where you can drink all day and night. Los Angeles is asleep by 9pm every night, people gotta get up and do yoga. There are two NFL teams in a city literally called "the city that never sleeps".

I can't decide whether a 10:00 a.m. closing time is awesome or terrible.Just stop while you're way behind. Bars closing at 10:00 am is not very common

Probably just in Utah. Ky has drive thru liquor stores open until 1:00 a.m. At least that's the way it was years ago.10am?![]()
You're funny
Legally, yes. But I’ve already made up my mind on the issue.odd take, there is still a lot to find out. innocent until proven guilt good lord
