WR Keenan Allen, CHI (3 Viewers)

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Keenan Allen (hamstring) is expected to practice this week.

Allen was able to practice at a limited capacity last week and was inactive for the Chargers' Week 3 drubbing at the hands of the Jaguars. Barring a practice setback, Allen should return to LA's lineup in Week 4 against the Texans. Perhaps Allen, who had four catches for 66 yards in the first half of the team's Week 1 game before hurting his hammy, can provide a spark for the down-bad Chargers offense. After running 30 percent of his pass routes from the slot over the past three games, Josh Palmer will probably be bumped to the outside with Allen's return. Palmer is barely a WR3 with Allen back in the fold.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) is practicing Wednesday.

Allen was participating in individual drills Wednesday. He practiced last week but still wasn't given the green light for Sunday. The expectation is Allen will play this week against the Texans, but we'll have to wait until later in the week.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) wasn't at the portion of practice available to the media on Friday.

Allen ominously left Thursday's practice with a trainer and this continues to look like a setback from the outside. He could be downgraded to out sometime this afternoon. If Allen sits, Josh Palmer would become a viable fantasy play in smaller leagues as Allen's absence will leave a target vacuum to be filled.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) won't play in Week 4 against the Texans.

Allen was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. However, he left Thursday's practice early and was a DNP on Friday. It's unclear if he suffered a setback or if the team is just being cautious with his return, but it's fair to say his Week 5 status is up in the air. Mike Williams should dominate the targets for LA until Allen returns. With Jalen Guyton also out this week, Josh Palmer should also play a major role in the offense. He could push for WR3 numbers versus Houston.

The Chargers continue to label Keenan Allen (hamstring) as "day to day."

“We’re gonna make sure we’re careful," coach Brandon Staley said Monday. Not the words you wanted to hear if you are one of the fantasy managers who has been missing Allen the past two weeks. It would seem Allen suffered a setback after he departed last Thursday's practice early and was ruled out for Week 4 on Friday. A "limited" day Wednesday would put Allen back on track to suit up against the Browns, but we aren't counting on it for now.

Chargers coach Brandon Staley said Keenan Allen (hamstring) is still day to day.

Staley said Allen would do some work in individual drills meaning he would likely have been considered limited in practice. The Chargers don't play until Monday, so we're a day away from getting their first injury report. Allen has been out since Week 1 because of the hamstring issue, but it looks like he's progressing toward playing this week. If he returns, the stable slot option will be a good bet for WR2 numbers versus the Broncos.

Is it worth picking this guy up if he was recently dropped? Seems he would have some good late season value

Of course it is, unless you have an extremely shallow bench. As soon as he is healthy, he will be the WR1 on a top 5 passing offense that has suffered noticeably without him. Worst case should be he is out through their bye week and available week 9 and beyond.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Broncos.

Allen is hoping to return in Week 7, which seems somewhat likely given that he was a near game time decision this week. Allen's absence will deprive Justin Herbert of a shallow target, which could lead to a few more targets for Austin Ekeler. Mike Williams should operate as a target-dominant No. 1 wide receiver with Allen out.

Chargers coach Brandon Staley said Keenan Allen (hamstring) is "on pace" to return to practice fully this week.

Staley was doubtful last week and was given a game-time decision tag, so this timeline seems to jive with Allen returning to full health. The Chargers have played it extremely cautious with Allen's hamstring so far. If Allen plays, he'd be a WR2/WR3 against the Seahawks depending on how the practice reports state that he's coming back from the injury.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) is questionable for Week 7 against the Seahawks.

Interesting rhetoric this week with Allen, as the Chargers have rationed his reps and Allen said he "'would feel more comfortable' coming back after bye week," yet the Chargers also worked him into red zone packages at practice this week in a sign that seems to signal he's in the game plan. If you've been sitting on Allen in standard leagues, he's probably a borderline WR2/3 play with some injury downside built in. We'd consider him truly questionable.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Keenan Allen (hamstring) has been "trending positive" this week.

Fowler noted Allen is still considered a game-time decision. This is the first optimistic report we have gotten on Allen this week. The veteran receiver has been out ever since suffering the hamstring injury in Week 1. He also appeared to re-aggregate the issue in practice a few weeks ago. The Chargers don't play until the second wave of games kicks off, so fantasy managers gambling on Allen's health will have a limited pool of replacements if he doesn't suit up.

Keenan Allen caught both of his targets for 11 yards in the Chargers' Week 7 loss to the Seahawks.

Making his "return" from a Week 1 hamstring injury, we can barely even call it that, as Allen stood around on the sideline more than he was on the field. We're not even sure if he played in the second half. Allen never seemed to really want to play before the Chargers' Week 8 bye, so this looks like he was merely knocking the rust off prior to next week's open date. Allen will hopefully be closer to 100% when the Chargers go to Atlanta for Week 9.

Keenan Allen said his hamstring injury got worse during the Chargers' Week 8 bye.

Allen tried to downplay it, noting it was possibly scar tissue breaking away, but he said Wednesday that he won't again take the field until his hamstring is 100 percent. Allen admitted that wasn't the case in Week 7 when he was on a snap count. It sounds very likely that Allen won't be out there for Week 9 against the Falcons and may be looking at another multi-game absence. This is shaping up as a lost season for the 30-year-old.

Allen seems to be channeling his inner Kad. Toney.

How does a hamstring injury get worse during a bye week of no practice and probably taking therapy?

Keenan Allen (hamstring) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice.

Good grief. At this point, Allen should be considered all but certain to head back to the game-day inactives list after he suited up in Week 7 for the first time since Week 1. He tightened up during that contest then somehow got worse during the Chargers' bye week. Allen's continued absence as Mike Williams (ankle) heals up on injured reserve leaves behind huge target volume for Josh Palmer and DeAndre Carter.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) did not practice Friday.

With Michael Thomas officially on injured reserve, Allen's hamstring now reigns supreme as the most-blurbed fantasy injury. Nothing about this situation has said that Allen will play against the Falcons, as he's missed all three practice days and told reporters that the injury got worse over the bye week. He'll likely be ruled out later today.
