SF will give McBride a lot of attention, which one would think would open the door for someone else to have a big game. That said, I feel like I've been down the "Wilson train" before and he's let me down. Not in this exact scenario, but I had high hopes for him even going back to drafting him in dynasty rookie drafts. He's been too inconsistent to start for the most part, and this year he's still looking for his first week with more than 4 catches. Wilson has also surpassed 45 yards receiving just once this year (DAL in Week 9 - 3/61). One could argue that he's quite possibly the least fantasy-relevant WR2 in the NFL, at least on paper. And, if that's not accurate, it's very close.
All of THAT said, I'm cautiously optimistic that things will be different with Brissett throwing him the ball and I'm starting him at a flex position in TWO leagues with utmost confidence. OK, maybe not utmost, but a little bit of confidence. Well, actually, I don't have a lot of other options (Meyers, Jeudy, Lockett, etc.), so I'm going all-in on Mr. Wilson.
Side note... Wilson does have a pretty positive history in limited games against SF. In three games against the Niners, he surpassed 75 yards in two of them (those two games are both in his top four in terms of receiving yards for his career). He also has 2 of his 8 career TD's against SF (both in the same game in 2023). So, maybe he can channel up some positive vibes/memories and have a semi-breakout game tonight.
