Same here. It's a DBT cover, right? That was Pitchfork's #1 of the decade and I'm not sure I've ever heard it.

No spotlighting, though. That's right.Just so I'm clear -- there's no limits on rounds. ... you just draft until you hit 100 mins, then you're done?
LOOK AT ME, I LIKE DIFFERENT MUSIC!!!Is that how it works? Doesn't seem very satisfying.Pretty much anything that sounds like it's from the soundtrack of Life Aquatic (except the Brazillian's guitar) or from a UPS commercial is the suck. I'm not saying it sucks per se, just that for my tastes it's the suck. For the life of me, I just don't "get it" with LCD Soundsystem.IBT "yeah well....Opinions are like #######s, everyone has one and yours stinks"

When the final mixes come I probably will. Don't really have time for a good analysis on them now, who knows maybe some of it will grow on me, but for now when I sneak preview it, if it's synthesized sounding drums and/or synthesized keyboards as the dominant driving music I simply move on. Not my bag. I did kind of like the Thermals and the !!!s among the bands I've never really heard before (and plan on checking out more) but bands like Killers, Radiohead, Eminem, LCD and others I already knew I didn't like and the selections have done nothing to change my mind thus far. I like White Stripes, Strokes, and a little Arcade Fire for some reason. However, when the mixes come out, a lot of them will be structured to where a song "fits" into the mix and I may like it. I still listen to stuff from the 90s draft that I didn't previously, on a daily basis. It just amazes me how much of the top thus far is inorganic, electronic music and just reinforces my opinion that the 00s was not my favorite decade for music.eta: At least RH sounds like a band making music, not a computer geek playing with a giant Casio keyboard. My second favorite artistFor the life of me, I just don't "get it" with LCD Soundsystem.IBT "yeah well....Opinions are like #######s, everyone has one and yours stinks"
. LCD Soundsystem is really just an awesome dance-band. So there's a lot of appeal for people like me who are into minimal. James Murphy does tremendous things with repeating song patterns, ala both songs taken already. He's also an amazing lyricist. Love it. And for the record, I thought Losing My Edge was going to be waiting for me later :( .How do you feel about the other groups on DFA? The Juan MacLean, Hercules and Love Affair, etc?
I was trying to stay away from my usual metal mixes. Might throw together a bonus mix at the end if I can stop playing Fallout 3 long enough to do so.I actually have been able to find enough good songs to fit my theme and hoping for very little snipage. The mix could wind up sucking but I think it might turn out pretty good.
Yeah, you can basically just skip my mix entirely then. It's only going to get worse. My personal tastes are all over the place and there's no way I could tie them all together in a coherent mix, so I've decided to highlight interesting electronic and experimental music that might otherwise get overlooked in this draft. Music is one of the most subjective things ever. Just beccuse you dont like a band, doesnt mean the song isnt good. In fact, I dont know any of the bands being drafted. I am very eager to see what others are into. I know there is a large thread at another site where Tasker and Nigel are always sharing their musical interests. Never heard of any. Some I like, some I dont. But if they like it, Ill give it a shotWhen the final mixes come I probably will. This is my main gripe. All of his songs that I've heard, have some little little looped thing going on -- sounds like it would be a decent intro for something else to happen in about 30 seconds...but it just keeps going....and going.....for 5 or 7 mintuesJames Murphy does tremendous things with repeating song patterns
The only other one I've heard (that I know of) is Yacht and I was underwhelmed. How do you feel about the other groups on DFA? The Juan MacLean, Hercules and Love Affair, etc?

I feel mostly the same way. However, as things usually go, it'll probably blow my mind in a couple years. This is my main gripe. This was one of the songs I was surprised lasted so long. Not fitting into my mix, but easily one of the best songs of the decade.3.04 Do You Realize? - The Flaming Lips
I count just 4 Arcade Fire songs takenRadiohead and Arcade Fire eliminated so far? Is that it? I know White Stripes are probably close.

Oh. Ne'ermind.Only Radiohead eliminated
2 left for Arcade Fire, I think.Radiohead and Arcade Fire eliminated so far? Is that it? I know White Stripes are probably close.
Boxer, without question IMOI like that National tune. I've never really given that band a listen despite the praise here and from critics. Which album do I start with?
I'm pretty far behind on this band, too.I like that National tune. I've never really given that band a listen despite the praise here and from critics. Which album do I start with?

Awesome. My bad. Felt like rewatching The Third Man and thought I might be able to make it back before my pick.
Comeback band of the decade. The Life Aquatic soundtrack also features the Stooges' "Search and Destroy". Hope you don't think that sucks too.LOOK AT ME, I LIKE DIFFERENT MUSIC!!!Is that how it works? Doesn't seem very satisfying. For the life of me, I just don't "get it" with LCD Soundsystem.

I heard a rumor that someone is claiming music is one of the most subjective things ever, so I've come to dispute that.
their first one is good tooI like that National tune. I've never really given that band a listen despite the praise here and from critics. Which album do I start with?
That's why I tried to say that they weren't my thing rather than they are awful, also why I gave RH props despite not liking them. Perhaps using the phrase 'the suck' came off as too critical of the bands. I simply meant it was the suck for me because I am not into these electronic sounding bands, though there are always exceptions to every rule.Music is one of the most subjective things ever. Obviously not. Oddly, one of the songs in there is an electronica sounding song that I actually like from a band as yet unchosen so I won't mention it. I was referring more to the instrumental theme songy stuff. I did forget that the Stooges were on there. One thing (among many) you can always count on Wes Anderson for is very well thought out musical selections. The Life Aquatic soundtrack also features the Stooges' "Search and Destroy". Thought I could wait awhile if I wanted some, as I thought 'zilla would be the only sniper for that. (unless I am mixing up my Dino Jr. fans)
