(The Futureheads, 2004, 3:02)Don't see much Futureheads talk 'round here so I figured I could wait, but this is one of my favorite songs of the decade, easy. Awesome cover.

Christ.

7.09 Jay Reatard - "My Shadow"

P.S. Punk as ####.
(3:18)
This might be the only place in print that "punk" is used to describe this song. It's classic 80s metal, even in the vocal tones, without so much as a dollop of punk to it. Interesting that this is a 2000s song, it sounds and looks exactly like it would if someone in my high school would've done it back then.
Doubtful.
Results 1 - 10 of about 9,840 for "my shadow" +punk +reatard
I guess I can see it from the album version of the song, that video just sounds like straight 80s metal.

Just checking in with two makeup picks:

7.20 The Offspring --You're Going To Go Far. Kid released 2008, (2:57)

8:07 The Distillers--

released 2002, (3:29)City Of Angels is going to be tough to fit in, but it features the most flat out ball busting vocal performance of the entire decade, IMHO.

I really haven't been putting enough work into this mix. It will probably end up a complete mess. I have a feeling I need a few more crowd pleasers before I get really weird.

8.24 Ellen Allien - Trash Scapes

9.03 Thom Yorke - Black Swan

I'll be off the grid for the next few hours (til 8 pm CST), so autoskip me if my turn comes up. Just don't steal my sh#t.
