Javonte is going to carry a bunch of teams to week 8
I just checked my team and with Javonte not quite 3 quarters through the game, I feel confident I will survive this week. Possibly a record for how quickly I stopped sweating the Turk. ::knocks on wood vigorously::

He has already contributed more to my team this week then he had the previous 6.

I have Javonte and Sutton (and Taysom). I've had to rely on Sutton the last few weeks with injuries to Rice, Sabers, and Shakir. So while the Javonte score will be nice, a 0 from both Sutton and Hill will still have me sweating the Turk.

Starting with 40.60 between Javonte and Denver is a good place to be. Glad to see a good return as he has been single digit points multiple weeks.

The Sutton goose egg hurts. As does Taysom Hill not playing. But Javonte comes out of nowhere with huge game!

179 teams are crying in their beer as Shaheed went on IR today
Him, Rashee Rice, and Etienne are gonna kill me now.

Edited to add, how did I forget Jonathan Taylor!

2nd edit to add, I didn't have Ettienne like every other team of mine. Yay! Bucky FTW!

What are we thinking? 131 cutline this week? Only two teams on bye this week, but of the six most popular players in the contest only 3 are playing this week (Dowdle, Jerome Ford, Taysom, Nabers, Rashee and Shakir.)

Only CHI & DAL are off week 7.
QB - Williams and Prescott were 3rd & 22nd most common QB's. 924 will be without Caleb, and only 135 will be missing Dak
RB - Dowdle (1232) is way more common than the next guy (Swift at 398), who's way more common than Herbert (116). No other RB is owned by more than 63.
WR - Odunze will be missed by 1165, but he's only had 1 great game. Next is DJ Moore with only 268 and Lamb with 210, but at their prices/scores they are probably the more vital guys.
TE - Ferguson (459) has been very good for 3 games, while Kmet (101) has had a few monsters, but isn't common.

Looking above, I see a few players very important to their respective entries, but not difference makers based on scoring/ownership.

Last year’s week 7 cut was around 120 with a lot of folks on bye. This year I would think 130-135 is reasonable.

So there were 18 teams with Lutz, williams and the broncos D with only 4 of them still alive.

Entry 101780 also has Nix but also had sutton and taysom hill

fisheadstew has no other lousy participants in the game and also a particularly cool name

Entry 104053 also has nix but with 4 qb's he may not count BUT with only 3 rbs 2 kickers and Ds he needed the big scores the most of the 4 teams

and the 4th team is fullmealdeal who also has nix who may score since he has only 2 qbs 2kickers and 2 d's

Every player has counted for me 1 or more times, including Gano.

It feels like the fat lady is rehearsing for my song and eventual visit from the turk this week.

QB: Will Levis is being benched,
RB: Swift is on bye, Dowdle is on bye (at least my Cowboys wont lose a game this week), Justice Hill will get me 0 points and Achane cannot play without Tua.
WR: Rice is out, Odunze is on bye and Shakir takes another step back with the Cooper signing. Hopefully Coop draws double coverage, leaving Shakir open - highly doubtful.
TE: Don't feel too bad about this group, and hoping for Kittle to really step up against KC's stingy defense.

K: Come on Nick Folk
DST: Need a miracle.

Going to take a miracle for me this week.

QB Jordan Love - $210.00
QB Will Levis - $120.00

Going to take a miracle for me this week.
You'll be fine until week 10, when Jordan Love is off.

QB - Love is averaging 31 pts, so as long as he stays healthy, you will have a good score at QB... for the next 3 weeks
RB1 - You made it past Gibbs' bye week, and he has yet to put up single digits in a week.
RB2 - Sure, Achane has taken a nosedive without Tua, but he's a weekly threat to have a monster game, and his bye is past him too
WR1 - Jayden Reed is this contest's WR4, and you get to double-dip with Love
WR2 - Deebo is your WR2 and averaging 14.1 a game. Must be nice.
TE - Kittle is the PPG leader at TE
Flex1 - Between Kittle and Kincaid, you should get 2 usable weekly scores
Flex 2 - Hill, Shakir, or Jonnu can fill this spot
PK - At least Folk's had his bye, so you take what he gets you
TD - 2 options for the next 3 weeks

As I said, you will be fine this week. There are many entries that will be taking 0's at certain spots before the week even kicks off.

For those not in the know, @Joe Bryant and @Contest Turk allowed a group of contest diehards to create 5 "fake" teams to see if 2 heads are better than 1 (actually it was 6 heads per team entry). All 5 entries are still alive, but don't worry - they are treated just like FBG staff entries - they're not eligible for prizes and don't count towards weekly cutoffs. I was part of the 18-20 player entry, along with @apalmer @-OZ- @Puppies @SeniorVBDStudent @Stray Doug and wanted to share our team and thoughts as we created our entry. Here goes:

QB
Patrick Mahomes - KC/6 - $27
Caleb Williams - CHI/7 - $16

We quickly decided 2 QB's was the right amount for a team of 18-20. For quite a while we had the Goff/Purdy duo, but the allure of another 5K/40 season led us to select Mahomes. Our backup was Geno Smith, but we pivoted quite late and took the upside of Caleb Williams instead.

RB
Josh Jacobs - GB/10 - $23
James Conner - ARI/11 - $17
Javonte Williams - DEN/14 - $14
JK Dobbins - LAC/5 - $8
Justice Hill - BAL/14 - $2

Stray Doug suggested James Conner the day the contest opened (31 July) and we stuck with him. It wasn't for another 3 weeks until SeniorVBDStudent mentioned Javonte Williams as a value play. We liked the week 10 options (Jacobs, Walker, Ford) but ultimately chose Jacobs because we thought he would be a volume hog in GB. apalmer fought a bit for Walker over Jacobs, but got outnumbered. Looking back at our chat, we had Dowdle but changed to Dobbins for the same price. I think Hill was our one cheap dart throw from early in the chat. In the end, we selected the 5 J's.

WR
CeeDee Lamb - DAL/7 - $38
Malik Nabers - NYG/11 - $19
Rashee Rice - KC/6 - $13
Jameson Williams - DET/5 - $10
Keon Coleman - BUF/12 - $10

We decided to spend more on WR's vs RB's, because the value was better. I remember our initial discussions focused on the value deals of the BUF and KC WR's. We took the risk Rashee wouldn't be suspended during the season, and Khalil Shakir was on our entry until we changed to his teammate Coleman. I think Jameson made our roster because of the Shark Pool groupthink, and it was -OZ- who said he was a lock to make his personal entry. Two weeks into talks, Puppies was the first to say the name Malik Nabers. Looking back at the chat, Nabers name went unnoticed until right at the deadline. For a similar price, we had Diontae Johnson most of the time. Lamb ($38) seems to have been a roster consideration early in our chats, and likely why we only have Caleb Williams with the same bye.

TE
George Kittle - SF/9 - $15
Brock Bowers - LV/10 - $14
Taysom Hill - NO/12 - $8

Kittle, Njoku and Hill were pretty much unanimous choices from the start. Bowers did not replace Njoku on our entry until literally 1 hour before the deadline. I honestly never even considered Bowers, but am glad we made the last minute change.

PK
Cameron Dicker - LAC/5 - $4
Cam Little - JAC/12 - $3
Will Reichard - MIN/6 - $3

Research says rookies are safer than you think, and we went with 2 of 3. We agreed to roster 3 cheap kickers all along, but found an extra buck at the end.

TD
Green Bay Packers - GB/10 - $3
Los Angeles Chargers - LAC/5 - $3

Roster size forced us to go with only 2 defenses, and we thought GB was the best. Another team we considered to pair with them were the Broncos, but we chose the Chargers because their schedule meshed better with the Packers.

Perhaps we can get the other diehards to post the other entries with their thought processes as well?

After 1pm

95.75 + (Irving/Vidal - 0.00/0.00/0.60/24.60) + (Dortch/Tucker - 0.00/0.60/7.20/18.20) + (Bowers/Kittle/Parkinson - 0.00/0.00/0.60) + (Karty - 8.40) + (Chargers - 16.00)

Deebo left the game today, hope he is good. Hoping to see Tua back next week, which will help achane.
Levis was doing great to start the year. I know people gave him a tone of grief, but he gave me 18 and 24 points while Love was out. Jayden Reed is disappearing for some reason, I just don't get it. .

My TEs had a good day, but Purdy didnt even look at Kittle for the last TD.

Hopefully Levis' injury is not bad and he s back for week 10. Thanks for the positive thoughts.

Per Quizzomatic after 4pm I am at
145.35 + (Irving/Vidal - 0.00/7.20/18.20) + (Dortch - 7.20/7.70) + (Chargers - 16.00)

Looking good against the Turk's unofficial cut mark of 90.00 or better.

150 after 4 pm games with lots of room to push higher :coffee:

Thought it’d be a sweat missing my top 3 WR Nico, Moore and Rice. Very happy to make it through.

More concerned with Plato’s Cave just barely above the line.

106, not much left in the tank. I have the better of the Chargers and Bucs defense along with Bucky and Likely competing for a weak flex spot .

Its gonna come down to the wire, probably need 2 TDs from the group

Pickens to the rescue!

It took them a couple quarters to settle in, but the Steelers with Russel Wilson at QB were a different team than we have seen so far this year. Plus the defense rose to the occasion with 2 INTs and a blocked FG and blocked XP (which was negated by a penalty that should never have been called). It was clear on the replay that it was a good block.

After a slow start, the Steelers scored 31 unanswered points. 37-15 final score.

It looks like a low scoring week as the cut line is only 98.7. One of my strategies was to spend light on WR's so that I could afford some serious TE power. The trio of Bowers, Kittle, and Kincaid has served me well while Taysom Hill is being a slacker meanwhile steady eddied Tutu Atwell. our hometown hero has served me very well for a $4 cheapo. My Te's have provided me both of my flex scores for 3 weeks in a row now and only 1 week have I had only 1 score from the YE's

The values this year were tight end, without question. They are so valuable in this contest, and this week I have 3 counting towards scoring. It’s good to have Njoku back. And Noah Fant is starting to see consistent target which is great.

Woah!!! You and I are the only 2 teams alive roostering trio of Kincaid, Kittle and Bowers. :hifive: Will consider it a 100% survival rate because the only other team 104723 was a 9 TE garbage entry.

Noticed you tacked on Likely and Hill. I went with Parkinson as a cheap 4th but he has been shaky.
