My Dead Money Report is not as pretty as some of you other guys.
It might be partially due to having a large (29 player) roster.

So far, so good. Everyone has scored at least once for me, with the exception of Jaylin Lane. Nobody has scored every week except Odunze (scored Weeks 1-4, had a bye in Week 5). Week 5 is/was tied for my biggest bye week with five players. Don't have another week with more than 3 (or more than one bye at any position) until Week 12. Week 12 and 14 are tied with Week 5 with 5 total byes. In Weeks 6-10, I only have a total of 7 byes with no more than 2 in any given week.

Of course, beyond byes, the bigger unknown obstacle is injuries. This week, I could really use Warren coming back for PIT. If not, I'm possibly looking at just Henderson and Croskey-Merritt at RB. That said, I have a full squad of WR/TE available, with the exception of possibly Pearsall (at least for now). So, hopefully, I'll need no more than two scores at RB with WR/TE picking up the slack at flex.

I like that my scores have been fairly consistent, and are trending in a positive direction. That said, we all know how quickly this thing can change. One bad week, and it's all a moot point.

TE position is a concern. Johnson and Ertz have regressed in scoring three weeks in a row. Taylor is trending positively, but if the other two continue to struggle, that may be a problem.

Interestingly 99 of these teams were eliminated this week.

But, still a very good duo with an overall survival rate of 71.6% compared to 46.8% overall.

Jamo unfortunately no points for blocking for the RBs or drawing coverage away from Amon-Ra. It's a long season and regression to the mean should factor this week, expect a TD vs the Chiefs.

I keep adding Williams to dfs lineups and he keeps taking money out of my wallet.

I'll do you a favor and remove him from my dfs pool. Now he's guaranteed to go off.
 
Still living with a ton of guys being on bye last week… so glad to have moved on.

IM definitely excited to see how he does. More excited to see Tracey come back and get tons of catches hopefully, need the Rb depth.

In retrospect, there is rarely a good reason to gamble on speculative RBs. WRs, yes. TEs, sometimes. RBs - very hard to justify. Blue, Bill and Monangai cost a combined $21, and while I don't have the prices available, I am sure there was a decent RB in the 20-21 range. And, admittedly, I did not pay attention to football this summer, and I could have done better than Henderson as a RB2. Sure, there is a chance that Blue, Bill, and MOnangai become fantasy relevant towards the end of the season - but I don't think that justified the risk.

Its been several years since I entered the contest, assuming I am around next year - I'll consider this a lesson learned.

I have TreVeyon Henderson as my RB2 as well. But as a rookie, I was already expecting him to start slow and finish fast - but not this slow. During the draft, I wanted him for my Texans, but they waited and got Woody Marks later. Henderson was touted as a 3-tool experienced RB - excellent running, receiving and blocking skills. Seasoned player from Ohio State no less! So I figured he would take off in NE. Not yet, but their 2nd stringer Antonio Gibson just suffered a season-ending knee injury, so their RB-by-committee-of-three is down to just the two. So Henderson has to get a bigger workload, right?

Speaking for myself, I will learn nothing from this year’s mistakes and will continue to stumble through this contest like a toddler in the wilderness, viewing the world around me with childlike wonder, yet constantly terrified.

Assembling a contest roster is like composing a beautiful melody.
 
People shy away from the most expensive RB's. I think that is mostly due to the fact that it's considered the worst position dollar for dollar. The ten most expensive this year ranged from $29-$37, but all 10 are currently in the top 18 RB scores thus far. Next year I am going to start building my team by choosing 2 expensive studs and building the rest of my team around them. Now they won't have to be extra expensive, but I will have to believe both will finish top 10. And no, there is no way I will think a $10 RB will finish top 10. But if so, they can be my RB3 or RB4.

I used to do that, but in recent years (including this one) I've been going with an expensive RB1 and some cheapish guys to give me a RB2BC. Often there's a good value play at RB which strengthens that group.

This year I spent $36 for Barkley and $29 for 4 more guys (Mason, Tuten, Croskey-Merritt, Kendre Miller), and I'm getting better production from the 4 than from Barkley. The highest weekly scorer of the 4 has been good for 92.7 fpts through 5 weeks, which would be RB4 overall. They have also given me 1 flex start & 1 week where they put Barkley on my bench (for a total of 115.4 fpts on 7 starts).

My most expensive RB each of the past 5 years: $36, $21, $34, $37, $35
My second-most expensive RB each of the past 5 years: $11, $8, $15, $14, $16
My total RB spending each of the past 5 years: $65, $46, $63, $67, $70
My number of RBs rostered each of the past 5 years: 5, 8, 5, 5, 5

I took a good look at your team just now. I like it alot. I would be too scared to not have a RB2 that I could count on for a weekly score though. Your 4 guys after Saquon have combined for 6 out of 20 double digit scores. Your depth at WR is awesome! And you haven't even come close to sweating yet.

Can't be strong everywhere. Best to spend and the positions that bring the best return per dollar.
