**AFC North Doubleheader - Bengals at Steelers**(+2.5, 48) Saturday Kickoff at 8:00 (1 Viewer)

I highly doubt the Steelers roll over here, but the Bengals simply want/need the game more, and they matchup really well with the Steelers.

I can see the Steelers wanting to keep Wilson/Pickens going before the playoffs. Pickens likely sees a lot of Taylor-Britt who is very boom/bust in coverage. Is Warren finally making inroads on Najee? I feel like I don't trust it, and it was probably more the trail script, but maybe they look to give Warren 20 touches as sort of an audition to the #1 role for next season.

I think Burrow/Chase/Higgins put on a show, as long Burrow stays upright. Bengals OL isn't gonna give much time, but the Steelers can't cover mediocre WRs, let alone these guys. It'll be interesting to see if Khalil Herbert gets Chase Brown's full-time role. I've always liked Herbert (I think he's a better runner than Brown, obviously WAY worse in the pass game) and could see him being a sneaky good option.

Bengals-28
Steelers-21

Warren has had some of his best games v the Browns and Ravens, and by far his lowest production has been against the Bengals

Maybe regression or variance will be in his favor this week but he's played 17 g against divisional rivals and never does much v CIN

Bengals offense is humming, shame that they keep screwing up Sep/Oct, bc I wish they had a realistic chance of getting in

That loss to NE (that knocked me out in survivor in week 1) was especially bad.

Whatever the score, itll be Pittsburgh losing by less than 7 when they flat out forget to cover a TE on a 4th and long.

If Pittsburgh loses than they fall fro 10-3 to 10-7, this is similar but not exactly the same as Philly falling from grace last season after going 10-1
10-7 and then a trip to Buffalo or perhaps Baltimore again seems like a quick exit for this team and what was really accomplished if they end up 10-8?

Where will the Steelers look at QB in the off season?

Bengals need this one to keep teeny weeny playoff hopes alive
Steelers could use a W going into the playoffs
Joe is cooking
And that should continue
Division game should be close
But I think the visiting team is better tight now
So...

Cinncy- 27
Pitty- 23

Great question.

If the Steelers manage to win a playoff game I think they will pursue Wilson with a decent contract offer.

If they lose this week and next I think they try to sign Fields or Wilson on the cheap.

That said they blew up the QB position last year so who knows

Cincy's offense would terrify Jason Vorhees into the fetal position. Their defense wouldn't frighten Barney Fife.

This feels like a Steelers' win to me. The have enough offense to keep it close until their D/ST makes a big play.

Yinzers 26, Skyliners 24

Similar and IMO predictable as both were under similar circumstances which to be exact was absolutely back breaking brutal schedules.

I think it fractured and broke the Eagles. Despite the losses I don't think it broke the Steelers. In fact they came out of this stretch as healthy as they've been in awhile which was a huge concern of mine for who they'd look from a health angle after this stretch.

I like the Steeler's to get the win tomorrow. They want to get a win to feel like things are back on track, fairly healthy and whlie the Bengals know they need to win to have a chance I think they know KC's backups beating Denver will be a longshot and I think that will take a little emotion out of it for them-not the same as controlling your destiny.

As a Steelers fan I'll pull for them tomorrow but I must admit the perfect outcome would be the Steelers, Broncos and Chargers all losing and Cincy getting the win. This would enable the Steeles to face the Texans in round one, put Cincy in KC where they can legit win all of which would then put the Steelers potentially in Baltimore in the next round. It also makes for a better playoffs IMO for everyone with Cincy being involved(except Denver and maybe KC fans). But I don't think the Broncos or Chargers will lose, especially Denver, so I'm just going to hope the Steelers take care of business so they can face the Texans next week.

I'm of the opinion that Mike Tomlin is extremely fond of Russell Wilson, much more then people realize. I mean that as much as a person as a football player but performance of course matters.

These next few weeks will factor into the equation of course. Russ needs to cut down the till timed turnovers and if the Steelers want to roll it back agree on a reasonable contract-one I hope allows the Steelers and out after the 2025 season. He's the odds on favorite IMO to be the starter next year but a lot up in the air still. Should things not work out with him I'm not so sure they turn to Fields. I don't think this happens but could be a fun story to see Steelers do something similar with Russ where they sign Cousins for league minimum. The fun part of that story, is it would pair Cousins with Arthur Smith(if he's back) and create the narrative of them both sticking it to the Falcons. But again, I think Tomlin likes Wilson a lot, just needs him to clean up the ill timed turnovers and agree to a reasonable deal and if he does those things I think you can bank on him returning as the starter.

FA landscape at QB is pretty thin. Wilson likely wont have the suitors Fields will, due mostly to age/upside.

I'll be pretty surprised if Pittsburgh doesnt wind up retaining Russ, regardless of playoff outcome.

Not to get off subject but I don't think Fields did much to improve his stock and he was light on suitors last year. I'm not expecting much interest, maybe come in a top of the backup QB market.

Last year he'd have cost assets+money. This year he'll only cost money.

If he is willing to take backup money, Pittsburgh may as well keep both.

He made $3.2m this year and cost a 6th. Top of the backup QB market is in the $8-10m range. I'd argue teams would give up a 6th to save $5-7M and would expect most would agree. My premise being he was cheaper this year and again interest was minimal.

What are the chances of Chase Brown playing and how confident are people in him producing like he has been? I would think they mix in Herbert in any event.

Not sure. He has a high ankle sprain and didn’t practice all week. Seems hard to believe he would be able to play or be very effective but this is do or die for the Bengals.

So if Baltimore wins, Pitt really has no incentive to play anyone tonight right?

I mean I guess playing the Texans is better than playing the Ravens in the first round.

Nobody wants to play at Baltimore, Pittsburgh really wants to win today.

Tomlin hasn't had a playoff win in an eternity. I know the Steelers are going nowhere this year but a playoff win for Tomlin would be a pretty big deal. The best way to achieve that is a matchup against the Texans.

ETA - In fact, the Steelers are actually better off with the 5 seed vs the 3 seed IMO.

Looking forward to watching the game and enjoying for once. Fantasy Football can be stressful. Last week in particular with the Christmas games, Thursday and Saturday games.

What a joke, Steeler defense is so bad
They couldn't matchup worse with the Bengals. Doesn't matter what the pass rush does, if guys are wide open in under 2 seconds.
They could at least attempt to stop running zone 80% of the time.

Wont matter, but its better than letting Burrow rip apart Corey Trice for the next couple hours wirhout putting up a fight
They won't, the great defensive mind of Tomlin can't adjust. And please get rid of D Coordinator Austin.

I'm pretty shocked that Burrow/Chase/Hendrickson would be the 1st trio in history to lead the league in TD passes, TD catches, and sacks.

I would have thought Manning/Harrison/Freeney.

There are sooo many problems. Bad oline play, QB holding the ball, no run game, no playmakers, and that’s just the offense. The sad thing is that the defense is a bigger issue.
