It does not seem too different to me from last call at bars, which is usually 15-30 minutes before closing time. You don’t have to go home, but they don’t want you to stay there. Then what's the point of being open till 8? but like SHH said, it's not the owner, it's the staff. You're just being an assssshat at that point.
Some places will say they are open until 8, but will stop seating at an earlier time. More restaurants should do this.
It's more of a common courtesy to the staff to not sit down so close to closing when they will have to be working late to serve you.
Many of us have jobs where the only way we work overtime is if we didnt manage our own time well or our boss asked us to. Imagine if whether you had to work OT was up to the general public. Ugh. No thanks.
I’ve gone out for lunch frequently in my professional career . I know it’s not frugal but I just like the mental break of getting out of the officeI still can't fathom a scenario where I walk into a fast food restaurant and desire to eat inside there. Depressing. Especially if they want to close. You're just being an assssshat at that point. Nobody is getting tipped on your existence inside. You're just being a jerk.
Go eat in your car or go home.
I usually only do on road trips. Sometimes I’ll just eat in the car but if we need a bathroom break we’ll go inside and eat
I’ll also eat inside at a jersey mikes during lunch
I've eaten work lunch at my desk for 30 years. I'm not sure I know what I'd do with a lunch break if I had one.
I quote Norm from Cheers and he dies the next day. :(And I'm wearing Milk Bone underwear. It's a dog eat dog world out there, lol. God bless.

"Last seating at 8:15". Then lock the doors.
I worry that at my age , because my brain is full. In order to learn something new I have to forget something and worry it will be my wife’s name. Young people don’t have this problem because their brain is mostly empty![]()

I’d rather eat a vending machine hamburger
Don’t get me wrong im not opposed to subway but stick to cold cuts there
I can walk into any fast food place at 7:30. Eat my sandwich/burrito/whatever and gtfo by 8pm. I never understood Subway. Delis exist. Good delis. You can get phenomenally better sandwiches there.

Yes but are there good delis right off a random freeway exit?
I go to a Subway once a week or so, but a matter of convenience. Downstairs from my office, and usually a matter of only having time to either get Subway or some even crappier prepackaged sandwich from the grab and go inside my office (which also charges more than Subway). If they replaced the Subway with something better, I would not miss it."Last seating at 8:15". Then lock the doors.

long time problem with all kinds of food places. It really shouldn't be that hard to cut a sandwich or pizza all the way through. They have knives sharp enough to do it.and another thing- why don't they cut the bread all the way?
Because a sub roll should have a hinge to keep everything inand another thing- why don't they cut the bread all the way?
Subway exists precisely because deli's don't exist everywhere."Last seating at 8:15". Then lock the doors.

Or how about Mr Speedy with his radar detector going BELOW the speed limit in the fast lane?If you're going to be driving a " high performance vehicle" and you can't keep it the speed limit on a freeway go sell it

Subway is a last resort. It is just blah and nothing of consequence. Probably the worst of all fast food sandwich places. Give me Jersey Mikes, Firehouse, or any local deli over Subway all day every day. Jimmy Johns and Subway are pretty close but I would take Jimmy Johns over Subway."Last seating at 8:15". That's the only way Subway sandwiches have any flavor.Last time I was going to eat at a Subway, I was waiting at the counter for a few minutes before someone came out to help, and when my "sandwich artist" finally did come out, they came out of the back with their finger firmly lodged in their nostril digging for treasure. Never again.
I thought he was talking about cutting a long sub in half.Because a sub roll should have a hinge to keep everything inand another thing- why don't they cut the bread all the way?![]()
No. Maybe NYC delis are behind the times, but they cut the bread lengthwise all the way.. not into a pita half slice.I thought he was talking about cutting a long sub in half.Because a sub roll should have a hinge to keep everything inand another thing- why don't they cut the bread all the way?![]()
Oh. Well that’s just laziness by the sub makerI thought he was talking about cutting a long sub in half.Because a sub roll should have a hinge to keep everything inand another thing- why don't they cut the bread all the way?![]()
Seems like a directive from Subway. The sandwiches I've had there... Not a lot, but all over the country- seems like that's a thing they do intentionally. Cut it part way, fold it over and shove stuff in there so one long side is open and the other is closed.Oh. Not that it takes much but I’m confusedCut it part way, fold it over and shove stuff in there so one long side is open and the other is closed.
yesAlthough I need fi pay attention at jersey mikes do they cut all the way through?

Take a long roll/baguette and cut it length-wise.
STOP
don't cut it all the way through. One length is cut open and other hasn't. "Hinge" open the roll on the closed "hinge" to expose the inside of the bread.
Put a bunch of bottom of the barrel deli meats in there, close the roll to complete. One long " hinge" side is heavy on the bread, and the other side heavy on deli meats.
Avoid the weird but distinct vomit smell from the place. Consume sandwich?
Where can you get a large pizza for $17? Those are getting up to $30-$40 for good pizza places (I do not count Little Ceasars as pizza).A good footlong at Jersey Mikes can cost $15.00 to $17.00. I start feeling guilty when I realize I could paid the same price for a large pizza and fed everybody.
Yeah, I don’t get the jersey mikes love to be honest. Ok at best imoListen, I like Jersey Mikes too but their prices are even crazier than Subways. I get some people don't mind paying extra if the food is better and the food is better. I was able to get a $6.00 footlong steak sandwich at Subway last week with a coupon.

The build your own starts at $18.50 but I couldn't find what each topping adds to the price. My go to would be pepperoni, pineapple, and jalepeno. What would that run? I am guessing about $30 when all is said and done.I'm in FL. $17.00 still gets you a nice pie here. The most expensive pizza here gets to around $25.00 to $30.00. Here's a place we like to go to on the beach:

It's more of a comparative thing. For fast foods subs it is by far the best. The quality is always the same at any franchise you go to and is all fresh with quality meats/cheeses. Will an actual deli be better? Most likely but for a mass produced type franchise it is by far the best of the ff sandwich places. My favorite is the Giant 99 on Rosemary. Eat half one day and have the other half the next. Solid two meals.Yeah, I don’t get the jersey mikes love to be honest. And that giant is bigger and thicker overall than a subway footlong, thus the higher price. It's more of a comparative thing. For fast foods subs it is by far the best.
