Cleveland Browns (4 Viewers)

Did we really get a "beast" for 2.5 million?

He's an OT in the NFL, kinda by definition he has to be a beast. Can he play? I have no idea.

6' 6", 312lbs

Least it sends a message to JT to #### or get off the pot.

Ogbah will bench press Stephenson into the backfield on his first few reps and that will be that.

@RapSheet

The #Browns are expected to sign OT Chris Hubbard to a 5-year deal worth $37.5M with nearly $18M guaranteed, source said. More help up front for Cleveland.

You don't pay out a 5 year, $37.5M contract for insurance. Dude is playing.

Now, this indicates Shon Coleman won't start next season. He can start on the left side in a pinch, too.

Hubbard signing has Todd Haley's fingers all over it.

Figure Todd Haley played a small role in Hubbard to Browns. He always praised him and his athleticism. #Steelers

Anyone know much about HUbbard?  A good right tackle would be a nice thing to have.  Doesnt seem like it will impact or imply anything with the Thomas/Solder situation.

Don’t be discouraged if Hubbard is an unknown name Browns fans. He’s under-the-radar AND underrated. Deserved this $, starting oppt’y. Should be RT going forward in CLE.

Good for him. His teammates knew he was gone and getting paid midseason and they were hype as could be for him. Former UDFA PS guy.

Oh hell yes. Hubbard is extremely talented and should be a starter in CLE right away.

That’s a lot of money for a dude with 14 starts. However, I like gambling on ascending players whose best ball is still ahead rather than behind. Too many teams pay guys for what they’ve already done rather than what they think they will do.

All the educated people in the “know” out of Pittsburgh are raving about Hubbard and how invaluable he is, on and off the field. That and based off of how he played, and only 26, seems like a solid signing for RT considering the inconsistencies of Coleman.

:lmao:

Seems really stupid if any cleveland fan alive felt this way about Thomas
As always, thanks for your comments. JT has earned the right to take as long as he wants to tell the Browns what he is doing. Personally I think they’ve already had the discussion based on the OT activity today but one thing is for sure, the Browns aren’t waiting around on him.

Decent money to a 26 year old > big money to a 30 year old.
Hate to quote but he's right about this:

Browns agreed to terms with 2 veteran offensive tackles today. Like I said earlier today, surely Joe Thomas has informed them of his decision.

------------------------------------------------

You don't sign two veteran FA OTs if Joe is staying.

I'd forgetabout drafting Saquon at the top of the draft and start concentrating on what we'll get from Buffalo trading up for the #4 pick.

-- EDIT---  Mary Kay says we're still in the running for Nate Soldier.

Texans still in the mix.  Not sure if Hubbard was/is consolation for not signing Soldier or what the plan is.

#Browns agreeing to terms/Hubbard won't stop their pursuit of #Patriots LT Nate Solder as Thomas' possible replacement. #Browns still hot on that trail. @McClain_on_NFL reports #Texans still in mix too

If Thomas is gone, I still want Solder.  Solder/Bitonio/Tretter/Zeitler/Hubbard should make for a heck of a line for a rookie QB I would think

Sorry, but it;s just idiotic to view thomas with a "#### or get off the pot" attitude.

I think the Holidays bbard signing was more to shore up the RT spot. I think Joe comes back, if even for one season. Hubbard will start at RT, Stephenson is depth.

JT is said to be telling the Browns tomorrow about his decision to play. I think he plays and the FO drafts a rookie to groom, knowing they can swing Hubbard in if they need to do so.

I guess that’s what Beer said, but if he had chosen his words differently he’s right. I’d guess Thomas has informed the Browns already, but if he hasn’t by FA Eve then that’s kind of a D move. Would be for Tom Brady too. It’s called, holding the team hostage.

Is it really a D move when coming off injury he very well might not even be sure if he CAN play at the level he wants?  Didnt he JUST start working out again?

Also, hmm, what happens if we sign Solder and then JT comes back?  Sign Solder and trade Thomas.  Boom

Their is talk about moving either Coleman or Hubbard to the left side.

Hubbard is getting paid, he is not a backup or swing player he is going to start.

I don't think Dorsey would sign two veteran FA OTs if Joe was coming back.

Trade the #4 to Buffalo for a bounty and take Guice at the top of second.

Joe Thomas has earned the right to do whateverthehellhewants AFIC but I'm sure he informed the team of his plans by now.

I’d sign Solder either way.

Yes, I think it is. We’re talking a matter of hours/days at this point.

I am really loving the fact that Dorsey (w a little Haley) is completely running the show.

This is not the Browns we know. This is.... different.

Again, thank you for the kind thoughts. Every day he doesn’t commit forces the team to make decisions they otherwise wouldn’t have. JT has known what the decision is but like all that are coming to the end of the line, he’s having a tough time pulling the trigger. GB him for the #### sandwich CLE has fed him for all of his career but if he would have told the team his intentions last week even when he hinted he would, then do you think we sign both these guys? Now?

Love me some Joe, hate the game he’s playing.

If he wasnt coming off season ending surgery a few months ago I would agree.

Per @tomecurran Nate Solder will NOT be taking any visits and still top priority is to remain with #patriots.
"everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face"......Mike Tyson

in other words, priorities change when someone offers you 20 million more

Honestly makes sense for him and his family. I read his son is really I'll, so it's probably better for him if he doesn't up root them. I wouldn't be surprised if the Patriots told him to look around to confirm value then they would match it. I don't see them letting Solder walk.

So then take more money and move to Cleveland...................Cleveland CLinic :)

Trumaine Johnson to the Jets. That hurts. He was one I really wanted to see in CLE.

Who's left? Honey Badger? Melvin?

Helluva pitch to have to make. If his kid is sick that would be a tough ask to uproot them to come to CLE. Agree he would be a great get though.

PacMan Jones....come on, er, up to CLE!!!!

Thomas says his rehab going well. Said he is still working through process of decision. Doesn't know when decision will come, hopes "it's soon, right around the corner."

Stevenson is a nothing contract. It's just the current state of the OL on the NFL. It's awful. Demand > supply.
