Another thread suggested Jonathon HankinsANyone hear any early reports on guys we might go after who were waived?
Bucs claimed him. I really liked him when he was coming out. Numbers game? Obviously he's no financial genius.Browns waived DE Carl Nassib.
Sashi guy and kinda JAG'y, but overall an okay rotational piece. I think worse edge guys were kept, but it's more a case of I don't think the guys we kept are any good and less that Nassib is. What's eyebrow raising is that it wasn't a numbers game, on the line anyway - the rotation is thin. Extra guys were kept at OT, TE, and QB.Bucs claimed him. I really liked him when he was coming out. Numbers game? Obviously he's no financial genius.
The Raiders are up and coming? They have the oldest roster in the NFL.Mack.![]()
Hope money is everything to this guy, because he went from an up and coming team to a dumpster fire where he'll likely never sniff a championship.
We have to remind everyone that Hue was willing to give up a 2nd and 3rd for A.J. McCarron.“They’re going to give them two No. 1s. Two No. 1s?! Oh, my gosh. That’s a lot,” Jackson said.
Desmond Harrison, the FA O-Lineman who 'might' replace Bitonio actually is viewed as an intriguing prospect but the line should have been sorted out months ago...., the situation on the offensive line is completely avoidable and appears to be a product of a head coach that cannot help but look unorganized and ill equipped. Despite asking Joel Bitonio to play left tackle and having Austin Corbett take almost every rep of preseason and make real strides in the right direction at left guard, Jackson has opened the door to the possibility Bitonio will go back to guard and undrafted rookie Desmond Harrison will start at left tackle.
Right? That'd be like giving up Manziel AND Corey Coleman AND Cody Kessler AND Charles Gaines. Two 1sts
A third and a 6th.

Not gonna lie, that stings a little bit.Right? That'd be like giving up Manziel AND Corey Coleman AND Cody Kessler AND Charles Gaines.
Kinda sounds that way doesn't it? What could possibly go wrong? So we have an undrafted rookie starting at left tackle?
Anything to expedite the exit of this cancer of a coach. Whenever in a tough spot he makes the wrong decision. Every. Single. Time.So we have an undrafted rookie starting at left tackle?
It's amazing but so true. It's hard to put a string together like Hue has but very little surprises me anymore when it comes to the Browns. I'm hoping the talent on the team and the coordinators are enough to overcome the buffoonery we see out of the head office.Anything to expedite the exit of this cancer of a coach. Perhaps he'll be the first HC to go 0-16 twice (in a row)It's amazing but so true. It's hard to put a string together like Hue has but very little surprises me anymore when it comes to the Browns. Our DC only does not appear to be clueless because of the HC that takes all of the attention away. He's a joke too. This team is handcuffed as long as those two losers are here steering the ship right into an iceberg. It's amazing but so true. I tend to be an optimist when it comes to the Browns this early in the season and even I will happily report, if Hue is 0-4 you'll be looking at Todd Haley in week 5 as the interim HC.Perhaps he'll be the first HC to go 0-16 twice (in a row)
An undrafted rookie that has 1st round talent. So we have an undrafted rookie starting at left tackle?
Sure. Sometime in the future. Week 1 though? When he's played only 1 of the last 3 seasons? And it was against D2 caliber talent? And he's missed most of the offseason due to injury? An undrafted rookie that has 1st round talent.
This could end up being a steal of a legitimate 1st round talent left tackle.
He has red flags but I think Callaway is/was a bigger risk when you look at both of their histories.
If he can stay clean, this guy has a chance to be really really good.
I don't understand why, Bitonio was good enough, why change now?Sure. Sometime in the future. Week 1 though? When he's played only 1 of the last 3 seasons? And it was against D2 caliber talent? And he's missed most of the offseason due to injury?
This is a hail mary from a desperate man that realizes every decision he's made at left tackle since Joe retired has been the wrong one.
Not possible. 100% completely not possible...................unless Haslem wouldnt fire him when 0-10? 0-11?? 0-15???Perhaps he'll be the first HC to go 0-16 twice (in a row)

Browns should start the season at 2-2. First two games are tough but the next two games are winnable.Perhaps he'll be the first HC to go 0-16 twice (in a row)
Heyward?I don't understand why, Bitonio was good enough, why change now?
I see no reason the Browns can't win this week. None. Being at home is an enormous advantage week 1. We have a competent QB, good RBs, good WRs, good TE, ok Line, and what looks to be a pretty darn good D.Browns should start the season at 2-2. Agreed. This is one of THOSE games where the public has no idea how good Cle really is and how Pit is less so and Vegas even prices it as such. Browns ML +200 feels great.I see no reason the Browns can't win this week. None. Being at home is an enormous advantage week 1. Personally, I think it's a total 50-50 toss up game
Browns +5 feels a lot better.Agreed. This is one of THOSE games where the public has no idea how good Cle really is and how Pit is less so and Vegas even prices it as such. Browns ML +200 feels great.
I agree that the new Browns can beat the Steelers at home. But, if they do not, it is not the end of the world. Starting 2-2 is very probable.I see no reason the Browns can't win this week. None. i concur. i’ve been banging this drum for a while.I tend to be an optimist when it comes to the Browns this early in the season and even I will happily report, if Hue is 0-4 you'll be looking at Todd Haley in week 5 as the interim HC.
10 plays in.He barely played with the starters in preseason, and Bitonio spent all his time trying to be a left tackle.
So what do we do for week 1? Change it all around.
Nice timing Hue. How many play into the game until Taylor gets nailed due to a breakdown in blocking assignment from the left side.
Because of why he shouldn't have done it in the first place. With Bitonio at guard you have 4 good-to-great pieces and an unknown at #5. Don't mess with what's working to try and figure out piece #5. Just try to figure out piece #5. By moving Bitonio issues were created at positions other than just left tackle. Was Bitonio good enough at tackle? Maybe, but it also came with increased problems elsewhere on the line. The problem is now Bitonio has spent more than a month trying to figure out a new position only to have the rug pulled out from under him right in front of the opener - all those nuances you've been fine tuning? Forget all of them and be who you were before with no practice reps. While also being keenly aware of the new problem working to your left. So it's reasonable to expect his play to suffer now too.I don't understand why, Bitonio was good enough, why change now?
There has to be a way to get this post to Hue. Or Dorsey. Or Haslem. Or everyone int he front office/ownership.Because of why he shouldn't have done it in the first place. Bravo, Hue. Bravo.
Yeah, that isn't the kind of play that should get that call. Stupidbody weight. eat a ####.
I wasnt a fan at the time. Didnt hate it, just wasnt my preference.i guess anyone who didn’t like the Ward pick can shut up at this point?
