Music Draft - Rolling Stone Greatest 500 Songs Garbage List - Now with unhealthy regional pork-stuffs! (2 Viewers)

Had to listen to 2 songs to decide which was "better". This one won.

19th round

Beyonce- Single Ladies(228)

By default my round 20 pick is the newly freed Britney.

Britney Spears- Baby One More Time

Why is that an angry red for you?

I will be 20 for 20 on No Hesitation picks. I had one bloc get down to 1 left and another get down to 2 left, but I pulled it off. The last bloc has 7 songs left but all are No Hesitations for me.

1.  I hate CCR.

2.  I hate anyone making a much, much, much worse version of an Ike & Tina Turner song...and then it makes the list while the original didn't.

Sounds like you may have won this draft!

It was a CCR song first, John Fogerty wrote it.

However, I do think the Ike & Tina version is better and should have been on the list in addition to/instead of the CCR version. But RS is gonna RS.

I stand by what I wrote.

Round 19

321 I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2

Not a band I ever draft but that is one cool thing about this draft, it allows for those opportunities. I am not a big U2 fan but I do love this song and it may be their best or at least my favorite.

If I am correct, this ends the draft for me. My only open area left has only 1 song in it and it's by one of my favorite artists which means I did good...even if I drafted Journey last weekend lol

I don't mind CCR, but I never go out of my way to listen to them. Luckily, most of their songs are short. In fact, the one song of theirs I can't stand is their cover of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" - which is like 90 minutes long and boring as hell.

The first three songs of The Joshua Tree are the way to start off an album

I'm amazed at how many people didn't know about sheet 3
I think the issue was

- it wasn't titled so it seemed like it was not important

- some people don't know how to use spreadsheets

- some do but were still too scared after the "issues" earlier in the draft

I had no strategy, but was just going to go bottom-to-top. I panicked at some point because a group was dwindling for me and jumped ahead, then kinda went on tilt for a couple of rounds. And pretty much all for naught, as I would have ended up with the songs I got in the first two groups anyway

We actually got kicked out of a bar last night when my wife went on stage and sang the Tina version with the band. The crowd loved it but apparently the bar manager didn't . He said since she wasn't with the band it was considered karaoke and created some kind of insurance liability.

I thought Suzy Q was their longest

Wow. The band should have told the manager your wife was a Special Guest

thanks Binky

BTS isn't my favorite K-Pop group but it was a huge global hit with over a billion Spotify streams.  It's got a great Pop hook that you've heard even if you don't know the song.  It's all very slick but still satisfying.  The key change into the last chorus is predictable but it works for me.

As a young Asian music nerd, the only faces I saw that looked like mine were Stomu Yama####a and Tetsu Yamauchi who replaced Ronnie Lane in the last version of Faces. I upport anything that makes Asians look cool in pop culture, so I'm down with teenage girls (and boys) of all races screaming for BTS.

My Final RS 500

  1. Help! by The Beatles
  2. Baby Love by The Supremes
  3. It Was a Good Day by Ice Cube
  4. 1999 by Prince
  5. The Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy
  6. A Change is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke
  7. Party Up by DMX
  8. Maybelline by Chuck Berry
  9. No Ordinary Love by Sade
  10. Gloria by Them
  11. Don't Stop Believin' by Journey
  12. Boys of Summer by Don Henley
  13. International Players Anthem by UGK and Outkast
  14. Tracks of My Tears by Smokey Robinson and The Miracles
  15. Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis
  16. In the Still of the Night by The Five Satins
  17. Nothing Compares To U by Sinead O'Conner
  18. Jungleland by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
  19. I Still Haven't Found What I Was Looking For bu U2
  20. Alright by Kendrick Lamar

It must have been a good draft as I really like each song- even the Journey song. Nothing here was outside of my usual interests.

"Butter" has been getting some play on one of the cell phone commercials recently...can't remember which one.

It's not quite "Dynamite", but it's pretty freakin good.  These guys are easily the best boy band on the planet at the moment.  True international superstars.

The link to your playlist is broken.

If I didn't pick it literally in the very last draft, I would've taken it over "Juicy".  Honestly, I probably prefer "Alright"....had to mix it up though.
I prefer Juicy but this gives me something from a different time period. I've spread my rap out in terms of eras.

If we're just filling in people's last picks, we could throw in Uruk's  final picks as well as tim's penultimate in the 451-475 as he's the last one there.
