I remember reading an article and the guy asking her how she felt getting paid $100 for the rights to Hound Dog, when Elvis made millions. She replied to the effect, "Well I'm alive with my $100."I am super-excited to get this happiest of Happy Greens and also to add another woman to my playlist. I think I've taken more women in this draft than any other. That probably means like four of them, but it's a start! (I probably should have kept a list of my picks.)
Big Mama Thornton - Hound Dog (#318)

Song o' the day blasting out of a car outside my window... Love Will Tear us Apart.
Yeah you can just sort it by name to see your picks I do it all the time.I hear there's a sheet...

@krista4 Are you going to go ahead and do your last pick since you and I are the only ones left in the grouping, and you go before I do? End the suspense!
312 / Walk on By / Isaac Hayes 1969
So happy this made it back to me one more time. I would have gladly taken it long ago. Issac was one of my favorite soul singers after Redding, Pickett, etc. Unlike Stax and Motown of the time, his style was labeled "symphonic soul." In retrospect, that doesn't sound like something I'd like, but I'd be very very wrong. Wriiten by Burt Bacharach (?!) and backed by the Bar-Kays. @Uruk-Hai, is this song too long for you?
And since DOug B is my only rival for my final group and he picks after me, I think its kosher to make that pick now?
You're a great addition to the crew. I'm glad you joinedWell it looks like I can take my last two picks ...
19.22 The Crystals - Da Doo Run Run (#366)
Fun little ditty that isn’t Cher. Somehow I hear that Cher song at least once a month and then it gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
20.04 Megan Thee Stallion - Savage (#438)
This could be the Top 500,000 songs list and this song would still not make it for me. I was really hoping not to have any songs with the N word in it but alas, here I am.
This has been a lot of fun. Thanks for letting me dip my toe into FFA Music world. I’m nowhere near the aficionados most of you are but I still love my music and learning from all of you music draft regulars.
Off to tackle the weekend honey do list.
This song takes you on a ride, and it's a good ride.312 / Walk on By / Isaac Hayes 1969

Agreed. Nice to have Manster as a new drafter in the music threads, too. You're a great addition to the crew. I'm glad you joined
Thanks!.....this is a fun group, and I enjoy the back and forth. It's a good distraction from a lot of the bull crap that goes on in the day to dayAgreed. Nice to have Manster as a new drafter in the music threads, too.
I'm glad k4 took Hank, cause I needed some blues in my group.
Round 20
Spoonful - Howlin' Wolf (#154)
I love the blues.299 - I Put a Spell on You / Screamin' Jay Hawkins - 1956
I am so glad you guys let me get most of the blues standards on the list. I don't know whether y'all don't like them or are just unfamiliar with them., but I'm thrilled with my results.
I love this song. Had it all lined up a bunch of rounds ago, but for some reason went a different direction. Had the record and loved it and him.299 - I Put a Spell on You / Screamin' Jay Hawkins - 1956

This song is its own genre. It's one of the reason squares hated rock & roll, and it's ####### glorious.299 - I Put a Spell on You / Screamin' Jay Hawkins - 1956

It goes places...good places...and takes you with him.No, because it's not boring
Also the feeling when he hooks up with a Perkins waitress. That feeling when you're finally guaranteed to not have to pick any songs you didn't want from the outset of the draft.
Someone was sorting the playlist when I went in there to copy & paste the list here, so I ran away. I was going to put them in reverse RS order. If it's too much a pain, don't sweat itI've updated the first post I think with all the playlists, but if I missed someone while quickly catching up the past couple of days, please let me know.
@Uruk-Hai, I'm putting together cos's playlist. Would you like me to cobble yours together, too, since you don't have Spotify? If so, just send me the order you want the songs in.

Great song and reminds me of that Jarmusch movie where the European woman only listens to that song. Even walking down the street with a boom box playing it. She’s so cool.I'm glad k4 took Hank, cause I needed some blues in my group.

You can do it on mobile just go to the playlist>click on the “…”>click “edit”> put your finger on a song for a second and you can drag it up or down.I apologize for not really ordering my Playlist in a way that makes sense. I don't think you can do it on the mobile app and I don't have the full PC client version because I work off a firm-provided computer.
I'm the other one who picks in this group, not Doug B.299 - I Put a Spell on You / Screamin' Jay Hawkins - 1956

19.24 - Juvenile - "Back That ### Up" (#478)
Simply a classic. Crude, vulgar, catchy as all hell.
Wife and I almost used this as the "wedding introductions" song for when they announce the wedding party during the reception. Called an audible like 3 days before the ceremony.....just couldn't do it in front of the parents and grandparents. We settled on Wang Chung "Everybody Have Fun Tonight". Probably a better decision.
Fun fact, while not the originator of the phrase, this song marked the first time the phrase "drop it like it's hot" hit mainstream. A 17-year old Lil Wayne popularized the phrase with his final verse on this one.
