Music Draft - Rolling Stone Greatest 500 Songs Garbage List - Now with unhealthy regional pork-stuffs! (5 Viewers)

And I was worried I’d be skipped going out tonight. Two of three on my short list taken (Limelight and The Weight), so hoping I don’t have to go back to the drawing board.

When burning CDs was new and I was one of the people who knew how to do it, my aunt insisted I download and burn her the Bay City Rollers Greatest Hits.
I have to say that a really, really young rockaction loved the Beatles and the Bay City Rollers and probably didn't see much difference between the two at the age of five. Forgivable? You tell me...

OK, thinking about the following:

1.  Instituting a rule that if we've waited for you more than an hour two different times, you are on a clock.

2.  Instituting a one-hour clock for everyone, starting with Round 5 (giving everyone time to know it's coming).

3.  No change.

Thoughts?

I'm fine being on a clock or being skipped, but I'm not sure how much people want to be tethered to their computer or phone or be skipped.

It seems to be a deterrent. Me, I've really no dog in the fight. I'm usually sort of living by these drafts and constantly checking in, but other people's mileage and availability varies greatly.

Usually we used a clock during the day and then shut it off like at six or seven EST if we did a clock. But that's only because I've seen it done that way that I say anything.

I think all of the above is fine, but the first seems a touch punitive and specific, which is why I love it.

I say we need some kind of time limit.....but what constitutes off time?.....like sleepy time?  I'm on west coast and go to bed by like 10 or 1am eastern time

What would Jann do?

Exactly!  :)

The off times in these drafts seem to be very East-Coast biased.  That will not be the case here!

Clock hours are usually weekdays from 8 to 8 Eastern. If you're on the clock at 8, you can still get skipped (or written in Krista's book in option #1).

Yeah, not doing 8 to 8 Eastern.  That's a fact.  11 to 11 Eastern if we do it.

I mean, if you're in Eastern and it's getting toward beddie-bye time, then you send picks to someone.  Easy.

Same for Pacific if you're not up at 8.

Oh wow. Holy smoke.

Sidebar: My friend wrote for Rolling Stone back in the aughts. He did profiles and ####. Wrote for Larry Flynt and Hustler at one point. Did an entire piece on Jesse James. James gave him his leather jacket and everything. They pulled the piece at James's request before it went to print because, well, he was going family-oriented in his endeavors. Larry Flynt told my friend through his stoma "You'll never work in this town again..." My friend told him to go do the anatomically impossible.

True story.

If its been 45 minutes and the guys on deck and in the hole say, ""I'm tired of waiting," we skip. That way there is a chance for mercy and a chance for cruelty depending on mood. The carpriciousness of it all is icing on the cake.

eta - no change

Denied!

Sure we have. I remember some drafts that started at like five or six out here. Maybe I was...dreaming? Doubt it. I can remember setting alarms and stuff.

I remember drafting during 5AM PT concalls.  I used to do a couple of those per week.  Don't miss them at all especially because they'd be videocons now :bag:

Wow, no ####?  That's pretty cool!  One of my favorite movies.
Actually, ####.  I mistyped.  It's the brother of a BFF - just realized I messed that up.  But friends from way back so he is good friends with the brother as well.

I just refuse to show up on video.  Oftentimes I'm the only one without my camera on.  Won't change don't care.

Probably bidding against myself here since Pip and Weasel both picked already from this group, but I could potentially see Manfred Manster or Mrs. R having this on their radar, and this is a super weak 25 for me now.

#435 - Limelight - Rush

Probably 20 Rush songs I’d pick ahead of this, but definitely 20 songs in this group of 25 I’d take behind this.
I may well have taken this if Powderfinger was gone.

What did she study?
Music,of course....

BAs in Music Education and Music Industry. It was a minor in music industry, but by adding some music history - double BAs. We both expect her to end up teaching music. She's no julliard kid, but started piano lessons at 5, guitar lessons at 13, me for a dad, a single dad with no mama discouraging this.

I'm back.  How's your car, rock? @rockaction
Hey simey, I don't know. They called at 5:15 but were closing at 5:30 so I had no time to get there, really. It was basically a courtesy call to come get it some time tomorrow, in the end. So we'll find out then. I hope it's okay. Just a ton of damage. Total cost wound up being around 4,300 dollars. That's something insurance cannot be happy about. I only have a five hundred dollar deductible plus two hundred for a new tire because of wear, apparently. I did not know about that. My tread was supposedly pretty good last time I had it checked. Oh well. That's the story. Thanks for asking.
