(Apologies if you like Fall Out Boy, I know you're bigger on emo than many of us.)

I've always liked Frank Turner.

I then loved Frank Turner when he played this tribute to his friend Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit the day he killed himself. I am huge fan of the band and of Scott.  He struggled so much and laid it out in his songs.  #### depression.

I learned of Frightened Rabbit due to NV and these drafts.  I still haven't spent the time exploring them as I should have, but the music really moved me.

Also count me as a closet Counting Crows fan.

Actually, the Fall Out Boy song listed reminds me of strip clubs. It's sort of jockish/overground by that point. Their emo stylings were actually reviled by "real" emo people for a while, but it's a market driven by teenage girls and Pete Wentz won the day.

Their truly overground stuff is the stuff I like. When they'd embraced their sort of popularity and became a larger-than-life act in the teens was when they excelled, I thought. And while it probably pales in comparison to more serious attempts at art, they're not bad, in my estimation.

I can keep a critical remove and still like a band, too.

Scorsese's segment was the best of the three by far. I don't know how I'd react to it today; tortured abusive a-holes aren't as entertaining as they used to be.

 
Think we're probably closed for the night as I believe Mr. Punk is EDT.  I don't intend to put a clock on at this point.  I feel like our progress is fine and am only concerned as the "draftrunner" that it does not get annoying for anyone else.  So if any of you are getting antsy and want a clock, let us know at any time.  Otherwise I'll still be going forward without for the foreseeable future.

I seriously think that the gripey I was talking about the other day will go down in history as an annoying footnote, also.

But seriously I just want to do what makes people happy.  I don't care if it's slow, but if others do, I don't want them to get frustrated and/or irritated.  So I hope people will speak up if they feel strongly or semi-strongly either way.

I think I was the biggest holdup today but it was a beautiful day for a bike ride.  I listened to the Genrepalooza Poptopia playlist which helped.

I'm fading fast, need to get in bed. Since there's 3 picks before I take 2, who wants 5? I caught three 'bows below Twin Lakes. Nothing special, 10-12 inchers, almost identical stocked trout. I also stepped in a pocket in the river and went for an accidental swim. Freezing... I'm too old for....

I will be gone fishin' 6am. I promised my sister enough for fish tacos. Need a few more. Doubt I look at this before noon.

Agreed.  They have no business being in playoff contention but for some reason they are----and as a franchise-long fan of the team with longest playoff drought in the 4 major professional sports leagues, I'm going to enjoy the ride.  And then not be upset when they #### the bed.  :banned:

I've never seen a contender made up of so many players available on the fantasy baseball waiver wire.  It's not anonymous players having good years either, they're generally anonymous guys having mediocre statistical seasons..

I saw Counting Crows and Live back in the 90's. Didn't know anything about either band at that time but the girl I was seeing was a big Live fan so we went. The opening act was some weird comedian/magician who was terrible. The crowd was booing and yelling at him until this chubby guy in a bathrobe with dreads came out and told everyone to just chill out and love everybody. I was like- who is this tool?!- only to find out later it was Adam Duritz :bag:

Woody's segment was pretty funny IIRC, but I can't watch any of his stuff these days.

Coppola's segment was a hot mess.
