Music Draft - Rolling Stone Greatest 500 Songs Garbage List - Now with unhealthy regional pork-stuffs! (1 Viewer)

For the record, I'm here for awhile but I'm not in a rush to pick.  I wasn't expecting to be picking again today so I've done no research.
same... well, i've done research enough to know what i'm looking for next, but that was yesterday.

i can pick five ten minutes after you...

Oh, it just occurred to me that Mrs. R sent me three picks this morning:  the two I took for her, plus a backup if those were taken.  The backup is in a different grouping and still available.  Does that mean I should go ahead and take it for her?  I suspect I should and she'll be ticked if I don't.  What do you think?  I hope she's feeling better.
Go for it. I sent three to rock recently, and two were from the same grouping. I would have been very happy with either. The other song was from another group, and I wanted it too. I still want it.

It was something to do with an eye doctor appointment, but it was like 4 a.m. my time and I don't remember the details.  She sent me two picks and AFAIK hasn't been around again.

I'm going to post it, since she obviously wanted it.

5.24 - Earth, Wind & Fire - "September" (#65)

####in love this jam, and it'll nicely fit my pleasant dance party desert island.

This makes the first artist on my list that I've ever seen live.  Doesn't help that 3/4 of my previous picks are dead, and who knows where Gladys Knight is.

Either way, this song slaps.
Damn, I though this would make it back.

Saw my baby run across the field
(Hey, Bo Bichette)
Slippin' and slidin' like an automobile
(Hey, Bo Bichette)
Hollerin', my baby, got towed away
(Hey, Bo Bichette)
Slipped on from me like a Cadillac 8
(Hey, Bo Bichette)

Hey, Bo Bichette, hey, Bo Bichette
Oh, Bo Bichette, oh, Bo Bichette
Hey, Bo Bichette, hey, Bo Bichette

6.02 - The Isley Brothers - "Shout (Parts 1 and 2)" (#268)

This is a sentimental pick.  I don't think there's really any other Bills fans in this draft, but if you know, you know.

This song is the pinnacle, the climax, of every single Buffalo area wedding.  I live within audible distance of a local wedding venue.  Every Friday and Saturday night (when the weather is nice enough to have an outdoor wedding reception), I can hear this song blasting at like 10:30-10:45 PM, with every wedding patron singing it.

My wife let me pick very few songs at our wedding (I can't imagine why, my taste in music is impeccable).  This was the one single song that was non-negotiable.  Of course, since she's from Buffalo too, it was a "well, duh, of course, like we're not gonna have Shout at our wedding?".

They've started playing this at Jays games, I assume it's carry over from/a tribute to the time in Buffalo.

Love the story.

I'm fine.  I was just grumpy about having my pupils dilated.  That just sucks.

I likely would have picked this in a different order, but I'm okay with this.  I had to eat dinner, or I'd have been here.

I don't think I know this song.  Another to add to my list.
It's one I stumbled upon during a Youtube rabbit hole many years ago. Been a favorite ever since.

Unfortunately the original version isn't on Spotify so I never took it for GP4. (There is a re-recording on Spotify.)

Love the story.
I owe you my speeding ticket story. I was in the right mood yesterday after beating it, but not so much today.

Also, I've been being that guy who stares at his tablet while visiting others. Need to stop.

Also also, I need to pair wine with smoked trout, spinach and mac nut pizza. My sister's creation. She thinks I know more about wine than I do. I'm thrown by the trout. I'm thinking rose of oregon pinot, or a much dryer french rosey.

Respect / Aretha Franklin

This is an incredible song that captivated me when I first heard it at a seventh grade "dance party" at Lisa's house, My love for it has remained strong and true, but no ####### way is the best song of all time.

But thing thing of it is, there are 10 songs left in the TOP tier. Only one other would I deem worthy if I don;t go with Aretha here. Maybe 2-3 others I could choke down, but I don't really want them The horrible thing is, THe remaining six picks would literally humiliate me to have to draft them to my playlist. And you knop what they always say, you can't ####  up your top draft pick.

But it is a sensational song I am proud to roster.

I think a rose would be perfect, maybe a Rhone grenache

Sorry, I'm up?  Be a minute.  Didn't know Mrs. R was here.  I was busy cleaning up after dinner.  Deal is I clean up if OH cooks, and he cleans up if I cook.  Starting to seem inequitable given that I clean as I go and leave like one pan, yet he seems to use every dish we have in every meal, plus somehow getting debris on the walls, floors, etc.  My mistake for sending him to culinary school.  On the bright side, his food is a lot better than mine.

I need to catch up and will post shortly.
